I cannot help but see the last 20+ years of this internet as the main corrupting force on society. I mean we have the pyramids left in Egypt, the Code of Hammurabi and the first Amorite dynasty, and when THIS Silicon Tower fails, it will be chaos and savagery among the 90%+ have-nots. I wish people would talk more about the slave trade that exists today in Africa and the Middle East. It’s as if it’s being allowed to happen in the shadow of historical slavery. That historical slavery is spoken about daily in thousands of different mediums and by so many people and you never hear anyone talk about what’s going on today seems so cruel and unfair.

    • @GhostSal
      @GhostSal 3 роки тому +2

@Ip Man The original comment was it still exists in 2021, and your comment was, thanks to wht people. That blames one race and one race only. Yet, what the other person commented on was it is happening today in Africa by people who are not wht (to their own people) and that is true (your comments aren’t acknowledging this truth, so it looks like you are the one with the issue).
Also, it happens in Asia, India and other places too. Fishing fleets for example are notorious for holding people against their will for years to work the ships, beat them and threaten to throw them overboard (in some instances they have thrown them overboard to die at sea). Women are another group, that are held against their will, in some countries they are kept in cages till they are broken to then serve her captors (usually involving being raped/beaten repeatedly for years and giving the money to the captors). Children as well are forced to, “work” fields, mines, in factories and all sorts of dangerous jobs (beaten, chained, and threatened with death).
If you think this is wrong, always has been wrong and always will be wrong congratulations you’re a decent human being. If on the other hand it’s only wrong when one race does it, you’re a hypocrite and very likely also a horrible person.

Sadly some Natives did practice slavery even if their traditional teachings said it was wrong. The Chickasaw captured some Choctaw who they were related to by blood and sold them as slaves to the British. Comanches would kidnap women and children and force them to become Comanches, not quite slavery but still seems a lot like taking away people's freedom to me. There were many tribes with different beliefs and those beliefs were affected by the French, British, and Spaniards they met and interacted with later on. All people have the capacity for good or evil regardless of race, slavery is wrong according to most religions but people of just about every major religion have owned slaves. It is a blessing to be able to listen to and learn from Wally. The Diné are a beautiful culture and people and I hope their ways will be at least somewhat preserved.

Slavery didnt end after the American Civil War. It just changed the identity of what we see as slavery. Millions of people are enslaved to their jobs, their schools, their gov't, their "smartphones", their huge oversized homes, their fancy cars, their new extra large flat screens, and so on. I made a great decision to click subscribe on this channel =) Thank you Wally for sharing your great teachings and beliefs with us!!!

      Yes.
However some of that to a large degree is a self-inflicted sort of slavery. For standards or styles of life that our freedom for life liberty and the pursuit of happiness has led the individual to adopt a sort of self-selected indentured servitude, so that the aforementioned style of living may be achieved.
I'm not arguing that there isn't an inattentional debt-based slave system created, where the principal never gets paid off and the interest gets constantly rolled over. But again that huge portion of that is our own choice to not educate ourselves or to educate our children, for how to achieve financial stability.
For instance a person it begins investing x amount every month on their 18th birthday with x amount of interest and continues this all the way up until the end of their 26th birthday, in a person starts there's the following month for the same amount going in their new account each month for the same interest when the second person is 50, they still will not have caught up to the first person's account.
I'm 40 only started investing two years ago. I never heard of compound interest, my father has a degree in accounting, is never spoke a word to me about it.
      Hidden secrets of finance.
My new favorite saying of late, concerning the amount of money are government hands us.
Work without pay and pay without work can both be forms of enslavement. 🦅

The very last slaves freed were owned by native Americans.. our amendment didn’t include them. That is a fact. Look it up. There is no denying this fact. @will9357 3 роки тому +4

That might be true, but the Cherokee and the Navajo (Diné) are completely unrelated cultures that didn't even have contact with each other until modern times.
Here's an example that doesn't involve the Cherokee or the Diné, but one which I have much more experience with... I'm Penobscot, and I often hear similar arguments about cannibalism. I.E. That Native Americans practiced cannibalism and this is generally used to try to justify how all native peoples were treated by European settlers. Yes, some tribes did practice cannibalism, others did not. In my culture cannibalism was the just about the worst offense someone could commit. You couldn't remain a Penobscot and practice cannibalism, but certainly other native cultures did. Those cultures were completely antithetical to my people's culture and we wanted nothing to do with them. In fact, if a tribe practiced cannibalism and we were in contact with them, then we explicitly regarded them as enemies.

It’s not the picture of slaves that we think of, but it happened and no one said “oh us Navajos we are too good to own slaves!” No it happened and the evidence is there still by this small group of Paiutes that have a tiny 20 acre or so Indian reservation (surrounded by the Navajo nation) 40 miles south of lake Powell. I’m sure if you asked them why they are there they will tell you how they ended up there.

Thank you for sharing your wisdom with us. It's reprehensible that people would try to claim that all cultures practice(d) slavery, because you know that they are just trying to justify or at least excuse the slavery practiced by their own people. Slavery is not a natural thing, and the people who practice it are inhuman. Anyone claiming otherwise is propagating that evil. It is unbelievable to me, and incredibly disheartening, that there are still people practicing, excusing, and romanticizing slavery. What a world. Thank you for setting the record straight with the history of the Diné people.

@cogitoergo yes it is true that some indigenous tribes practiced slavery, but in a completely different manner than what Europeans enforced on indigenous people.

@cogitoergo That's how I see it either condemn all wrong or do not bother at all.
