UTTER NONSENSE!!! This is some scary shit!!! Can they hear themselves talk??? Wow! My grandma used to say "nonsense is not sense, not because it has the word 'sense' in it".... This reminds me of that brain tickler....
I don't see why a muslim would want to live in a western country if music is so forbidden. We have music in our stores, our restaurants, lobbies, on t.v, on the streets, the radio, etc.
If such lines would be written for a sitcom people would say the characters aren't believable , no one is THAT idiotic. Well they are and even worse they penetrated the western civilisation.
How are the religious scholars I've shown "mediocre"? My aim isn't to slander, my aim is to show two things. First, to illustrate the (largely unknown to the public) statistics correlating scientific literacy/education with irreligiosity. People can make of that what they will. Second, to illustrate why I can't understand the teachings of certain religions, because the concepts which emanate from them (whether regarding God himself or his commands) are nonsensical to me. Feel free to disagree.
All scholars are considered 'mediocre' or irrelevant, when they don't entertain their respective audience. Just like a Protestant wouldn't agree with, or give any creed to, say a Catholic scholar. Cheers
The author of this video has clearly lost his objectivity and partiality when it came to Islam. He left me wondering about the credentials of these so called "academics". How about genuine academics like; John Esposito, Reza Aslan, Jerald Dirks, Khaled Abou El Fadl, Seyyed Hossein Nasr, Hakim Murad Not to mention the misleading title. It seems he couldn't find anything *logical* against the concept of the Islamic God.
Abdal Hakim Murad has also condemned homosexuality as immoral. So what's the difference if I included him or any of the other scholars used who make the same remarks? Many Muslims highly respect the scholars I've used and their teachings, which is precisely why they're being filmed and speaking to large audiences. If they were not respected, no one would be filming or listening to them in huge crowds.
These people are the representative of majority of Islam world. And most are well protected by western democracies, and enjoy their freedom of speech to advocate their Allah.
From speaker no1 about music in Islam, how can you explain it to people like Cat Steven (Yusuf Islam) or Hamza Yusuf they accept music and yet religious
No, the question is where does that leave your complaint that I've not used scholars which you personally would have preferred to see? If they are making the same point, what was your complaint? Their popularity is linked to their credentials. If you have objective reasons to doubt their credentials, please provide it rather than just asserting it. As for the title, the ideas being discussed are the teachings and commandments of God. So the title is perfectly fine.
By mocking them, you pour gasoline on the fire and only make things worse. By mocking them you make yourself feel better. It is definitely an ego boost for you.
The last one is my favorite. A justification for stoning someone after they have committed adultery: "(She wants to be stoned) ... If I commit adultery, I like to be stoned." I think I was about 10 the last time I used similar logic: to justify doing X to someone based on her act Y, I claim (a priori), that if I were to do Y, I would also like X to be done to me. And btw this is also a weakness in the Golden Rule.
These are very selective clips that you decided to show. Utter falsification and propeganda. Why don't you actually show what they say about God and not about music or other stuff? So much for reason
Great to see the recent videos and cartoons against this lunacy. Every single day should be a "Draw Mohammed Day" or "Make a Video about Mohammed Day".
There was a time when the muslim world was one of great science and enlightenment. When the dark ages crept over Europe, the muslims maintained and merged western medicine, philosophy, math, physics and astronomy with those of the east. Then the dark ages were brought to an end with the enlightenment and the darkness crawled from it's place in Europe into the minds of those in power in the middle east. I would thank them, but they are long gone. Please do not forget them though.
Abdal Hakim Murad has also condemned homosexuality as immoral. So what's the difference if I included him or any of the other scholars used who make the same remarks? The academics I've used have perfectly good credentials, they have huge success as scholars and mass followings. Hence why they are on tv, in front of large crowds, etc. Perhaps you should consider whether you are being objective?
Yes, people dying for religion is wrong. We should be able to reason with each other with love and compassion, and that is what is clearly not happening. It's kind of like someone who likes Fox News and says "I'm right and that's it." There is no arguing with someone who believes something without being reasoned into it.
The one at Green Lane Masjid can't do a simple sum. He said a man was 11 years older than his son but had married when he was 12 and had produced his son a year later ! Obviously that would have made him 13 when his son was born. Not 11 ! The conviction with which he states this foolishness is worrying. As is the fact that it passes unchallenged.
1. I respect people for what they do or not do in there life not there beliefs, if someone believes he has to offers children to satan should i respect that? 2. Many people without beliefs aren't still asking questions! they KNOW why they do not belief!
I think there's more to it than just religion and culture with regards to these people. One would either have to have a cynical view of humanity(brothers and sisters in god my ass) or a cynical view of god(the most merciful, yeah right) and have leanings toward authoritarianism.
Oh my no music, can you imagine, no beatles, no blues, no soul, no james brown, no disco, no baby shark, no row row your boat which kept my kids happy for hours. Awful idea
I wish it were meaningless, but as Sam Harris likes to point out, beliefs have consequences in the real world. So the idea that you cannot love music and the Koran, combined with the idea that Muslims who apostatize should die could lead to being put to death because you love music.
When the guy says that pigs are the only animal that eats it young, he is not telling the truth. I suggest he reads up a little more on the subject before talking about it.
You respect people for actions not beliefs, that's what you're saying? I don't think any one of us can assume we have all the answers. Do you have all of the answers?
Awh shit this one was disappointing :| Naik is hardly an academic for example, I may be critical of religion and its followers but even I expect better guys to come forward :\
These videos are not fair to what Muslims believe about God. These are from disputed literature of hadith This is to insult the faith if Islam. None of these qoute the quran. YOU DONT HAVE TO BELIEVE THIS STUFF . Listen to abdul hakim murad. Shame on you . Read surah ikhlas. Simple and clear.
I have listened to Abdal Hakim Murad right here: ua-cam.com/video/Kss_mbV_DSc/v-deo.html. He argues that homosexuality is immoral and compares it to illegal acts, implying it should also be illegal irrespective of any genetic basis. You will also note the comments on the video are full of people in total agreement with him. It seems that no matter where you turn, there is a scholar telling you you must believe "this stuff" as you put it. Shame on you for undercutting your entire point by citing a scholar who is no different from the ones in this video. I'm simply reporting what I find. If you don't like it, see what you can do about changing the minds of significant numbers who study the Qur'an as much if not more you, and yet believe "this stuff".
@@JPararajasingham all are free to believe what they want. The Muslims Christians Jews and people of all faiths should also be allowed to express what they feel is against their faith but not impose it on others. But to mislead people is completely wrong and dishonest. Live in peace and harmony.

Yes, most Muslims would agree its immoral. Where does that leave your title? And just because somebody is popular among the less educated masses, does merit them with an academic accolade.
This was really painful to watch... Some of them look like very reasonable and intelligent people otherwise, but they use their intellect to further an agenda that is so damaging to humanity as a whole...
I did not even reach two minutes, had to stop listening, utterly disengaging. In stark contrast with the 3 other episodes where scientists speak about their -absence of- belief in a God, and more specific about religion(s) or religious beliefs about (human) life in general. If one thing stood out immediately in this episode, then this: in the 3 episodes i mentioned earlier, i didn't hear once the phrase 'hate', here within the first 2 minutes it's being associated with human gestures which are composed of joy and directed to harmony and unification. Poetry is dead, long live poetry.
Furthermore, in light of your coherent critical commentary on the judeo-christian cult apologists - how do you not see these "scholars" equally "idiotic" (your words)? Especially, since Islam shares the same mythical cultic roots?
I'm sorry, but couldn't get pass the first "scholar" - being a "sinful" lover of music (which is nothing but an orchestrated compilation of vibration). How is "loving" a natural form of communication, "sinful"? Dr. JP I subscribed to your channel because of the great videos of "prominent academics" expressing their views on reason and science. However, IF(?) you're subscriber to any of these muslim apologists propaganda - how do you reconcile this intellectual inconsistency?
Can one find descriptions or concepts of God, or get muslim experts (are they called theologians? I honestly don't know if this is the appropriate word) to expound on them? Are they reluctant to talk about the nature of God per se? These excerpts focus on legalistic aspects of hygiene, gender and sexuality, which can't be a complete picture, even though I can see that it may be an obsessive concern with many authorities. I'm not a believer of any kind -- just would like a rounded perspective.
