I just bought a Dainese Jacket today and had this issue with the right plate. Annoyingly i've managed to force the inserts out and will need to replace them to fix it fully
Great information!! I lost one screw, and I'm trying to find the screw kit, but can't find it without purchasing a new set of shoulder covers. Do you have any extra screws? I'd definitely pay for them. Thx!
The smallest in my standard set of hex keys is a 0.050" (1.27mm) which fit perfectly. My left shoulder plate had a slight dent which I hammered back into shape.
Do you take those plates off when you wash textile ones? I have the Dinamica jacket and was just going to throw it in the wash, but didn't know if I should take those plates off.
I have a Laguna Seca 4 suit. And the shoulder plate does not have any allen screws in it. It does sit in these small pre cut grooves. However i have noticed that the right one is coming loose. I just don't know what to do with it. I keep pressing it in. Absolutely annoying especially when i am on the track and this damn thing pops out. Should i just stick it with some silicone?
No, I don't think silicone is going to keep it secured for a lengthy amount of time. Is the allen screw missing? Maybe that's why it's popping out. The screw probably worked his way out far enough that it fell out completely. Maybe you just have a different design jacket that screws from the inside and there's no visible screws on the outside. Sounds like you need to go do further inspection of how your plates are secured
@@johnharrisonschulz Hey thank you for your reply. Actually the suit which i have does not have the screws on it. Guess it's an older model of the Laguna. It just has these tabs which go into pre cut holes. And the plate basically has come off from there. I guess if it had screws that would have made my life easier. I need an anchor to hold these plates on the suit and i am lost for ideas.
@@rkulkarni12, If I saw a video description of your jacket and the shoulder plates, then maybe I could come up with some idea on how to secure it permanently. I can be quite creative. You could probably make a video and upload it to UA-cam and Attention link to this reply maybe?
I notice you show your older jacket with the 3 screw shoulder plates. I have a jacket with those 3 screw plates, and Dainese have told me I need to contact a dealer to get it replaced as it needs a technician to do it??!! Seems an odd things to me and wondered if you had any experience with those shoulder plates as well? Cheers
@@blackbirdrx7 I've talked with the place I've bought the coat and they ordered me some replacement screw. But now my problem is that I can ear the nuts rattling around inside the shoulder pad but I can't get them to line up in front of the screws! I've tried with a magnet but it's non ferrous so it does not work! Can't get by the other side as the video suggest neither, it's sealed and stiched together after assembly :( This seems like the only way I'm going to get to those nuts : www.ducati.org/threads/how-to-repair-ducati-dainese-jacket-shoulder-armors.46602/
Sorry I never thought to add the length and diameter of the screw. This video was for anyone that has the screw and was trying to figure out and idea how to get the screw back in there correctly.
Someone else said it was 1.25mm, but .05mm is not going to be deal breaker! Thanks! Very thorough explanation.

The size of the screw would be amazing 🥺
Not an official replacement, but: from my glasses repair kit, a 2.5 x 1.4 x 6.0 fit right in.

It's so easy to damn strip these things :/ i don't know what to do now that I've stripped them
Maybe drill it out and use a rivet?
Not tried on something that small, but locktite and an Allen key has worked on larger bolts. You'll be sacrificing the Allen key though.
