I cleaned my filter and it still wasn't working well after only 10-12 uses. I'll have to check the input valve and input floating filter. I was using in swampy water in Muskoka. Hopefully this fixes it cause this worked really well when it was brand new
. . . Question, I use a Hiker Pro Water Filter...how do you keep your filter dry in between water sources so it doesn't mildew. I had one do that on me once. . .I had to replaces the filter cartridge. . . My concern isn't after my hike is over, if I'm out two or three months on a thru-hike the filter would always be wet on the inside...so how do you keep mildew from growing on the cartridge inside the filter...?
If filter was left in wet for a couple months and i now notice mold on the filter, is that reason for throw away or is there a process to make it safe again?
Johnny Apple Seed I replaced my filter today which has been in there since i purchased it in 1995. Ive used it a couple of times each year in relatively clean water. Never became sick or noticed anything odd.
I purchased the Katadyn Base Camp 10L earlier this year on Amazon and used it per the manufacturer instructions in clear fresh water streams AND cleaned it after each use. But the filter clogged after only four (4) uses. I so wanted this filter to work correctly. Will Katadyn refund my money? If so, how? Thank you

Nice video... However, the only difference between the Hiker and the Hiker pro is the Quick connect on the inlet side
Can I Force some clean water down the top clean water hole at the top of the filter to help clean the filter out?

I dont know its probably fine i drink from a water bottle with a slightly mouldy lid

Instead of using chlorine I tried hydrogen peroxide. Will that hurt the fielders
