Why do people care if the dashboard is made of hard or soft touch plastic? I never touch the dash when I'm driving or sitting in the passenger seat, and neither do my friends or family.
WuWei Xu To them, it gives off a cheap eminence. To me and you, its frugal and practical. You get what you're paying for. If you want standardized soft-touch surfaces and leather accents, you need to reevaluate your choices, and price point. In my opinion, its stupid nitpicking and is only a valid complaint in premium $35,000+ vehicles.
Had this as a rental, and surprisingly, it was VERY nice. Didn't feel underpowered, very responsive. Lots of features for a small 4 door, especially the driving modes. yes hyundai is very reliable. i had an 08 Sonata before i traded it in for the Elantra, and i put about 175000 miles on it. Had absolutely ZERO issues. never saw the inside of a shop. never had the engine light appear once. great car. all i did was tune it up once, and get new rear shocks.

Bias as hell, clearly, and he's driving a 4 cylinder economy car like it's a muscle car lol..........My wife has a 2014 hyundai elantra and it rides smooth, good gas mileage, brakes nicely, the eco mode helps that gas mileage even more. If you want something cheap and nice, for example, touch screen radio, heated seats, cruise control etc, then go for it, if you commute far this car is perfect, i drive a v8 truck and i get no mileage so i try to use her car as much as I can lmao
I have a 2014 SE with the 6 speed manual, while the clutch takes some getting used to, this car has proven to be my favorite of any I've owned. I'm averaging about 35 mpg, and living in Dallas, I log a lot of city miles. It rides smooth and handles very well. I don't understand the complaints a lot of people have with this car. Simply put, it just does what I need it to.
Believe me there are A LOT of Elantra fans, much more then these biased and I mean biased haters. They are like a bunch of stupid fanboys of another brand and go to every channel showing a competitors car and they say stupid crap.
I have the Hyundai Elantra Sport 2014 model. It is a great car. The acceleration is strong and has a nice kick. The brakes our smooth. It has good mileage. It sounds great. It has that sports car sound to it. 4.5 stars. It's a nice car.
There's lots of variety in the compact class. For an overall daily driver, the Elantra is still a very good car: Warranty, economy, interior size, quality, all of the valuable metrics and it's not gas directed injected in the 1.8L, which could possibly in the long-term it might outlast GDI engines. I've driven the 1.8L automatic and the 2.0 Sport with a manual. Both are fairly comfortable. The 2017 model year is coming out next summer and I'm interested in the next wave Hyundai is going to be on. The reliability beats all Japanese cars for those who wonder about that. For 2015 Hyundai is placed as the highest quality even for a non-premium brand, right behind Porsche. That's the direction the company is headed and that's what to look for, an outstanding product line.
I bought a '14 Elantra Limited in Blue recently...I love it, it fits my needs perfectly. Getting around economically with some style. :D I think the Elantra is one of the best looking in its class IMO. I like the Elantra because it's small on the outside, but really roomy on the inside. Great for lugging friends around. I've been averaging about 30-31 around town so I don't know how some other people were getting really bad mileage?
camerakid92 The elantra is great! I own the '14 Elantra Sport. It is small on the outside, but spacious in the inside. especially the trunk. Mine averages 39-42 mpg around town so it's ideal. definitely would recommend this car. absolutely zero problems for how long I've had it.
camerakid92: I love mine too. I have a 14 Elantra SE with the preferred package. Great car and I get a lot of complements on it too since it has a sharp look with great lines. I also get great mileage.
I drove a 2013 Elantra GLS as a rental, and actually didn't mind this car. Got decent gas mileage (high 20's in the hills of West Virginia with 3 people and AC on the entire time, 37 on the highway), and my 6'2'' fit perfectly in the front and the back seats. I will say, I did experience the back end squirming around when hitting bumps (like many others have mentioned), but overall it was a decent vehicle for the money. I would definitely buy the Forte over the Elantra though, because of feature content and styling. Am interested highly in seeing what the next generation Elantra will bring us.
I love my 2014 Elantra! It is an SE with the sport package. I have 17" wheels and the spoiler. The only thing I wish It had was a sunroof. Among my last few cars were a 2003 Diamante and 1997 3.5 RL. I love my Elantra; It drives great!

I'm getting the 2016 version of the Elantra. It's one of the only ones that was in my budget. I work in a produce department of a grocery store, I can't be buying $30,000 cars right now. I haven't even started college yet (not until January 2016) so this will be fine for me. We put $5000 down already, and my note is only I believe $185 a month, which is wonderful for me.
+Jessica Lynn I bought this car one month ago, I trade in a veloster which was having problems, and due to the budget I didnt get a Tucson or Sonata, but this is a great car, good brakes, but some people are right, its hard to stop smoothly at a stop sign or traffic light. Overall the car is great,. Personally I like Civics, but i'm sick of seeing so many Civics everyday, too mainstream, I dont see so many Elantras out there comparing to Toyotas and other cars, so this makes the car even better.
Update. Several years ago I replaced the factory tires with uplevel name brand touring tires and it completely changed the handling feel and made the ride a bit quieter. There is a curve I felt like the rear was sliding out when going the posted speed limit. With these new tires I can easily hold that curve at or above posted speed limit. The OEM tires are garbage and ruin the car.
@@sambeezy007 had one engine issue involving the variable valve timing. Local dealership provided good support. They provided me with a vehicle from their used car lot (newer than my own) until the repairs were made. No problem since then. Few weeks ago I had to have control arms replaced. Attributing that to local roads and where I use to live (unpaved trailer park).
I got this 2014 sport pzev and I love it! It looks gorgeous inside and out and I get from 0 to 60 so much faster than my SUV. I love the slight stiffness on the steering wheel esp on the turns and curves in the highway, not skittish like he said even on 70+ mph, maybe because since it is sport. My complain is just the road noise but I read that changing the stock tires should fix the issue, so am planning to change it in the next 2 mos or so. Overall, cool car!
I love my 2013 bought it new in January of 2014!!! Even loved my '05!!! I had hopes in fixing it up and selling but got totaled in my wreck!!!! #Hyundailover
@@mssn3166 yes I have a 2016 now and I love it! I still see my 2005 driving around out on the road. Hyundai's r really good cars. Once I can afford the Hyundai Palisade that will be my next car.
If You complain about the brakes in a 2014 Elantra, you’ve obviously never owned ANY Honda/Acura product. Honda brakes are horrible to say the least. They shimmy, squeal, and wear completely uneven. I’m not saying my 2014 Hyundai Elantra Limited has the best brakes on a car today, but I’ve done 60k miles on my original pads, front and rear, and they still haven’t hit the wear indicator. My 2006 Acura TSX’s inner pads would be worn down to the squeal indicator and the outer pad would still have more than 50% life left! I knew this was not because of the EBD system as Honda would always say. It’s because of faulty brake caliper slide pins that wouldn’t move the pad off from the rotor in certain conditions, thus resulting in uneven wear of the inner and outer pads. The only complaint I have with my Elantra is that if you don’t opt for the tech package, you get a key that looks like it’s from the 90’s. IMHO, all Limiteds should have the proximity key considering it’s the top of the line model. Even the Sport model comes standard with push button start/proximity key. Hyundai fixes that for the 2017 model redesign.
This review is correct as far as I can tell. Almost all the things you mentioned that need a tweek got it in the 2015 model. I got the Limited which now comes with the 173hp engine. Great car, very nice power. I have also been loving the stereo. I would have considered the Mazda 3 more seriously if I could have gotten a fully loaded model at somewhere near the Elantras price but with Hyundai switching up the look for 2017 they dropped the price too much to say no too. I do have friends that bought recent 2015 or 2016 models of the Civic and corolla and been driven in them. I do not regret my decision one bit.
Good to hear, I have a 2016 Hyundai Elantra, its a great car, I traded in a 2007 Mazda 3 4 door for the Elantra. I loved that Mazda 3, but the AC kept breaking down once the car hit about 80,000 miles, and got tired of throwing money at fixing the AC. While I will admit, obviously the Elantra is not as agile, and doesn't have the sporty ride of the Mazda 3, the Elantra has a quieter ride, and I am getting about 31 MPG's.
Was waiting for this review for a while now. The Elantra and the Subaru Impreza are the only new compacts I have not test driven yet. I won't bother looking at the Elantra now because I cannot stand that cheap car ride feel with the torsion beam rear suspension crashing over bumps. I like a nice smooth well-balanced ride like you get in the Mazda3 and the Jetta. IMHO those are the best driving compact cars. Thanks for the review!
I’ve owned this vehicle for 5 years. It’s basic as hell, but has been really reliable; no major issues at all. The only complaints I have since owning the car are the left turn signal not working when the headlights are on; It works fine if they are off🙁. And it appears to have some kind of electrical issue, in general - one day I looked out the window and the headlights were on. I went to turn them off and they wouldn’t go off. I had to start the car and turn it off several times to get them to go off. After driving this for so many years, I’m now looking for a crossover/suv due to a need for more cabin space and wanting something updated, in general. This would make a great vehicle for a teenager or for someone okay with a super basic car.
nothing against the car I think elantra is a beauty but I think reviews on plastic dashboard should be stopped I mean come on it looks good anyway why is it such a big deal for a Hyundai or other Asian cars..
yeah :D actually I did, sadly thats the only they could ever come up.. But the Elantra on this video is by far the best I've seen and that one is stock
Yeah I think this guy doing the review in the video has something against hyundai. I know a lot of people who drive hyundai cars and have absolutely no problems with them and they love the car as well. Always good to have a dependable car. Ford needs to learn from hyundai to make a reliable car and cover something that's actually under warranty.
People keep bragging about the Hyundai/Kia warranty but it's just a powertrain warranty that ANY manufacturer can offer. How often have you heard of an engine, trans or driveline failing in these cars? Almost never. Also, I bet the dealership would give you hell if you had to make a claim under that warranty. They're going to want to see full service history receipts and will probably deny you a claim if you did not have the car serviced at the stealership alone for the 10 year period. Sorry, that's all Hyundai/Kia has going for them.
Thank you for pointing out you rarely rest your arm or touch a soft top dashboard, but you touch sides and top of the door more often. I would much rather have better materials on the doors than on top of the dash.
This guys a great reviewer, only thing that's really annoying is he sounds like he's whining and "crying" throughout the review. But yea greattt review!
Have a 2015 SE now. Had to get rid of my Accord but like the car. It’s overall good. Wish the transmission was a little faster but not bad. Hit a median with it already and it survived with just an undercarriage scratch lol.
I'm in the market to buy car at the moment can u guys give me some. Advise plz ? Should I buy 2014 honda city ? Or Hyundai elentra? Or Mazda 3 ?? Which one should I go for ?? Plz let me know tanx
Mazda 3 car of the year with the best engine. Hyundai elantra i have been hearing a lot of complaints. Would probably get a hyundai in the next 4 yrs or so when they all figured everything out to go toe to toe with the reliability that toyota, chevy, and honda have.
milad dolat You can't really go wrong with a Mazda 3. I have had one for seven years and it is a great solid car with some spunk and good gas mileage. Suspensions are a bit firmer but just right for me. At 80K miles, I have replaced the breaks, tires, and shocks twice now. When I bought my 2006, the bumper to bumper warranty was 4/50, now its a generic 3/36 like everyone else. One other small complaint is that they do not use solar glass which can cause some serious eye strain when the sun is in your eyes. Another good thing is that Mazda's hold their value, where Hyundai's still tank soon after you drive it off the lot. Their extended warranties do nothing to help the value.
Based on that camera bouncing around and the cabin noise and the MPG numbers, it's basically my Escort Wagon...except with payments. I'm averaging 30-32 in the ol' gal. Heck I even have independent rear suspension so I don't get squirrelly on the bumps. I LOVE watching car review videos to see what's out there, but dangit if they don't always reaffirm my decision to go old and DIY.
Thanks for the review. I'm in the market for a 2014 Elantra but can't decide on the trim. I really like the GT, but the Sport and Limited look good too. I've also checked the 2014 Kia Forte and the 2014 Kia Forte Five. I'm more of a commuter type and not so much a sport type of driver. I'm looking for reliability, comfort, safety, economy, a good warranty and cargo space. I currently drive a 2006 Scion XB. I have no complaints about my BOX, but it's time for a change and I really don't like the 2nd generation XBs. I think that by making them less boxy.... the car lost its charm. That's why I'm looking for an Elantra or a Forte. Which one of those you can recommend? Thanks a lot for the help and recommendations you can provide.
No way Handas are alot more expensive then these. These cars are actually really cheap in price I love the look but wondering why they are selling so cheap whats the catch and or recalls on these
I drove the 2013 Model it wasn't too bad but power is lacking wish Hyundai would go to the 2.0L instead of the 1.8L but i like it interior wasn't too bad glad they move the air vents up
Interesting car I just would like Hyundai to change the front fascia of the genesis coupe that's what's holding me back from buying one and the clutch feel
Well my dad is looking at a Hyundai he is looking at the new 2015 Hyundai Geneis and i think you can only get those in AWD if you get the AWD it was have a heated wheel so heated back seats too. So i don't know why the RWD Models even on the V6 and the V8 you can't get heated wheel and heated back sits and you can all get them on the AWD V6. Also the other thing is you can't get AWD in the V8's one why is that? But i do love the new Hyundai Geneis me and my dad he went to test drive a RWD 3.8 V6 last Saturday at the dealer close to his office. But last night he went to the Hyundai dealer close to my house and he test drove a 3.8 V6 with AWD.
It would be great to see your take on the current gen Honda Accord Sport - 6 speed and also the Mazda CX-5 equipped with the 2.5L engine! Keep up the great reviews Sofyan!!!
I rented a Kia Forte couple of months ago, which is basically the same car underneath. And although the equipment was good, the car was so numb and vague i felt like i played a computer game. There is no feel at all, steering is unpredictable and doesnt inspire any confidence. The 6AT was the only thing i liked about it. For the reference, i drive euro focus second gen restyle.
Theyre called Halo headlights. its simply reinforced plastic and a light passes through them. It halos around the hallogen emmited bulb. Pretty dope looking when the sun has set in the evening time. I love my '14 elantra. Sporty look and a humble eye catcher in the night time.
Such a subjective review. I notice you didnt mention what cars you were referring to when you claimed other cars in this class are cheaper. Hyundai has always been a value leader when comparing features to cost. Not sure who you claim is better. I also wish people would stop treating the car like a sports car and down grade it because it more about luxury than the race track.
Just bought one. It took 20 to fill my tank and when I race this car is small enough and fast enough to beat a lot of cars lol don’t sleep on her!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Literally you can get a loaded Kia forte for about the same price and it drives better, has a much better interior, and more technology and power. It's Korean sibling is out doing them
Pedro Pedrosoy have you sat in a new Mazda 3? AND in a series 1? My friend has an X1 and I have a Mazda 3. The interior of the mazda looks and feels more expensive than the X1's.
Kaelin Curtsinger No, that is right. The X1 has a nicer interior than the 1 Series. Which makes BMW even worse as the X1s interior is worse than a Mazda 3's
My Thoughts 2012 Elantra GLS 60K AVG 27MPG. First any one saying they get more than 30MPG AVG is just lying. This car tracks down the road like a little red wagon with bad wheels. My 57Chevy drove better than this. Now for the good, Solid build, reliable, great brakes ( Crapola, Unfit, Unfoucus. All have drum brakes in the rear. I thought this was 2015? All Hyundai come with rear disk brakes. The auto trans works perfect, Try finding a 2012 Toy corolla with a six or even a 5 speed auto? So Hyundai please fix the mediocre suspension and at least match a Honda Accord in mileage. Yes the Honda has a bigger engine and bigger car and still gets better real world mileage. The car is solid, comfortable, Fix the little stuff, refine the steering and you will have a world class compact.
The typical fake review. It is not about a Hyundai Elantra, no, the Limited, top of the line, fully loaded. To make it look nice. Once you look at at the base version which you might be able to afford ($18,650), you don't see all those fancy add ons. It's like on the manufacturers website, mostly pictures of cars loaded with accessories.
You see these little cars everywhere. Hyundai must be doing something right with them.
They are all over the place in the Northeast. Very popular.
Probably cause they're cheap.
Hyundai is an very smart car brand😉
Cheap...low maintenance...fuel efficient...reliable...why not?
Very fun to drive as well.

It's prevents vibration noises from the dashboard
I rub my face on the dash and caress my seats every day! 😛
I touch it. I think it feels much more lux with soft touch.

Hyundai fixes that for the 2017 model redesign.
dude you put in work.... good job with the reviews
I have an 01 Elantra with over 200k. Biggest issue was the radiator. It got fixed and nothing else after that.
I have the 2014 4dr Elantra SE with the preferred package. I love the car and it is fast enough for me.
This guy is uploading rapidly
I'm thinking about buying one , my yf sonata Limited was rear ended and totaled out . Love the look of these little elantra's .
What are you going to do when you crash while talking to a camera and driving so 'fast' on those narrow roads?
Just found your reviews . Your review are very good . You know your stuff . Like your observations and you seem to know all the specs.
I found a Limited in pearl white and it’s a beautiful car. It’s only slow in eco. I love the leather
nothing against the car I think elantra is a beauty but I think reviews on plastic dashboard should be stopped I mean come on it looks good anyway why is it such a big deal for a Hyundai or other Asian cars..
yeah :D actually I did, sadly thats the only they could ever come up.. But the Elantra on this video is by far the best I've seen and that one is stock
Exactly! I could care less about the plastic. Some people want luxury but yet they don't want to pay the price tag.
Hyundai is the best bang for your buck and create exciting products the way honda used to years ago. I went from a honda/acura guy to a hyundai guy.
Ok....
Why would you prefer Korean cars over European?
That just boggles my mind.
I like Hyundai too but their 10 year warranty still can't beat Honda's reputation.
Realtime Reviews - great comment.
Who else has this car?
🖐🏼
I'm 6'5 and I fit really well in my Elantra
Good review. I like how u gave me more choices to review as we'll
Got a 2015 Elantra SE and am averaging 32 mpg around town. I'd get 25 too if I drove with a heavy foot like the test driver.
What happened to the video during 13:26? lol it like just kicked fast forward
Sorry, that's all Hyundai/Kia has going for them.
i have the 2014 elantra gt and am pretty satisfied with it
So does it have a rear stabilizer bar and a spare tire?
Here in 2022 cause I just got my first car out the lot , car runs amazing just wanna see the reviews .
Thank you for pointing out you rarely rest your arm or touch a soft top dashboard, but you touch sides and top of the door more often. I would much rather have better materials on the doors than on top of the dash.
Please do a review on the 2015 tlx!!!!!!!!
This guys a great reviewer, only thing that's really annoying is he sounds like he's whining and "crying" throughout the review.
But yea greattt review!
Any plans on reviewing the Mazda CX5? They really seem to be growing in popularity lately.
Yes, that vehicle is already filmed... expect to see the review up soon :)
2theRedline LOL now you became a Hyundai basher? I am disgusted by your biased review.
It's not biased when he's telling the truth...
lx to
I'm sure Redline will love the Mazada since he is so biased against Hyundai.
I got a 2016 & its sooo damn bumpy lol. Anyone know a good suspension i can put on it?
Very dependable car.
I wonder how the new Corolla is compared to this car. It would be cool if you could review one with te six speed.
I really want to this car it's very nice and perfect for me. My first car I plan on buying me one
Great car i owned this specific model
Guys, ford focus 2013 2.0, Mazda 3 2013 2.0 or the elantra 2014 1.8? Basically thinking of getting my first car, itll be a secondhand car
The "Sport" model comes standard with Proximity Key. :)
Every review I've watched of a Hyundai / Kia product; the reviewer has nothing good to say about the steering.
2013 Honda Accord cost about the same or maybe a little cheaper. So you decide
CVT engine with the Honda - no thank you!
No way Handas are alot more expensive then these. These cars are actually really cheap in price I love the look but wondering why they are selling so cheap whats the catch and or recalls on these
Nice video, but can you talk a little slow. I have trouble hearing
I drove the 2013 Model it wasn't too bad but power is lacking wish Hyundai would go to the 2.0L instead of the 1.8L but i like it interior wasn't too bad glad they move the air vents up
Always love your reviews. Hopefully you can get a hold of the new TLX soon :)
Can you do the Review on the Hyundai Tucson
Nice review. Definitely take a 3 with a 6 spd over this any day though.
Agree. Mazda3 is better.
Getting mines tomorrow !!!!
i dont like how it has rear heated seat yet not vent for the back, even if it is compact
King Neptune There are heat vents for the rear under the front seats.
Interesting car I just would like Hyundai to change the front fascia of the genesis coupe that's what's holding me back from buying one and the clutch feel
Great review... I wish to see you review of the Corolla or 2015 Ford Edge
Cool..I love this one💪🏻😎
Sitting in my 2011 Hyundai Sonata while watching this video.
It would be great to see your take on the current gen Honda Accord Sport - 6 speed and also the Mazda CX-5 equipped with the 2.5L engine! Keep up the great reviews Sofyan!!!
Awesome car 🚗
I rented a Kia Forte couple of months ago, which is basically the same car underneath. And although the equipment was good, the car was so numb and vague i felt like i played a computer game. There is no feel at all, steering is unpredictable and doesnt inspire any confidence. The 6AT was the only thing i liked about it.
For the reference, i drive euro focus second gen restyle.
Plus the new Forte some how has worse crash test ratings than the previous model. Which makes no sense.
im a bit confused....we geting a review on d civic mazda 3 or elantra? or all 3 at the same time?? i thot this was an elantra review?
Can somebody tell me what the white bar is in the headlights
it's just a design.I think it's made of plastic
Theyre called Halo headlights. its simply reinforced plastic and a light passes through them. It halos around the hallogen emmited bulb. Pretty dope looking when the sun has set in the evening time. I love my '14 elantra. Sporty look and a humble eye catcher in the night time.
I looked at this on caravana and saw it had DVD players.
I got the 2014 sport, the sunroof makes a rattle/flapping noise when you hit the 55mph or more
I would like to review of the new golf 2015.
Hay sofyan plz rview infinity q 50 and audi 4 and acur a tl x
Such a subjective review. I notice you didnt mention what cars you were referring to when you claimed other cars in this class are cheaper. Hyundai has always been a value leader when comparing features to cost. Not sure who you claim is better. I also wish people would stop treating the car like a sports car and down grade it because it more about luxury than the race track.
Can anyone tell me the title of the opening song please?
My mom has this car and its nice
2015 sonata has heated rear seats on certain trim lvls
Just bought one. It took 20 to fill my tank and when I race this car is small enough and fast enough to beat a lot of cars lol don’t sleep on her!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Literally you can get a loaded Kia forte for about the same price and it drives better, has a much better interior, and more technology and power. It's Korean sibling is out doing them
But it has a worse crash test rating, which is more important than all the other stuff.
Ehhh safety isnt a big priority for me at least. Just dont crash ;) lol jk
I agree with you, have the forte. It is truly good car.
You never mentioned Kia Cerato 😳!
for this price you can get a Mazda 3, which is WAY more stylish, more economical and the interior feel is comparable to the 1 series BMW
LOL a Mazda comparable to a BMW hahahah.... cheapo boy.
Pedro Pedrosoy have you sat in a new Mazda 3? AND in a series 1?
My friend has an X1 and I have a Mazda 3. The interior of the mazda looks and feels more expensive than the X1's.
Bruno Danese X1 and 1 aren't the same thing.
Kaelin Curtsinger No, that is right. The X1 has a nicer interior than the 1 Series.
Which makes BMW even worse as the X1s interior is worse than a Mazda 3's
Bruno Danese Good point. I don't follow BMW closely like I once did.
Can you review a 2015 acura tlx v6 sh-awd
The car is solid, comfortable, Fix the little stuff, refine the steering and you will have a world class compact.
is this car good
Well, it's OK.
Love the sound of the car when he guns it! I love 4 cylinders.
After seeing this video, I expect the price to be substantially inexpensive, so much hard plastic and the interior just screams economy.
Bonquishria that’s like buying an economy class plane ticket and complaining your seat screams economy
this is a better review compared to the Accent. not so bad after all. :)
