Price ($79) is high for this. It works pretty well but I'm not sure that the magnetic clip really justifies the price compared to similar slings with stock holders. If I was to suggest one improvement, it would be for some type of wire gate or strap to keep the gun stock adhered to the holder for when you're hiking around and don't need to quick draw (ie walking in the dark, for example). Several times walking uphill/downhill/through blowdowns it slipped out, which was very annoying.
This worked horribly with my mystery ranch pack. You are better off just looping a regular gun sling inside your chest strap. Did not hold it secure, returned it. I did try mounting it in about 5 different spots before I said enough of this. Was not really comfortable to boot.
This sling is terrible. I used it on last years elk season and it’s 0% “hands free”. If you don’t notice in the video, he is holding on to the rifle the entire time, that’s what I had to do for three weeks. The chest strap pulls the rifle off your shoulder the entire time
This sling is horrible, it will slide right off your shoulder even with the cross strap attached. Have tried on two different Mystery Ranch pack models with 3 different guns and we all had the same results. There's a reason why you aren't moving in this video and why you're grabbing the butt of the gun at 1:35.... You can see it's already started to slide off.
Absolutely! Same results for me. I've purchased some awesome gear from GoHunt, but this video is a total miss. Let's see them out using this sling vs. the Kifaru like they did with the tripod torture test. This system will also NOT work great with other packs, it's designed to function in the little rigid rear strap section of the MR pack behind the hip belt and in front of the side pocket. I have Mystery Ranch, Outdoorsman's, KUIU, and Blacks Creek Guide Gear packs and this sling doesn't work well with any of them. Stick to the Kifaru Gun Bearer, way better option.
Agreed. This sling is hot garbage. I love that it’s a “gear review” from inside the warehouse lol. Like they think we’re just a bunch of mongoloids out here, slobbering at the mouth for more videos blindly holding on to every word and piece of advice... this video, in principal, is borderline offensive.
Really liked this item. However, i carry my sidearm on the right side and I can't seem to figure out how to mount this on the left side of my pack. Any help?
It should work just fine on your left side. Flip the piece on the shoulder sling...place the other piece on upside down on the shoulder harness of your backpack...and rotate the buckle piece that goes on the hip belt. Hope this helps!
@@adriantudhope "not about "need" at all. More times than I can count myself and friends have encountered an elk that we inadvertently got close to, or in thick trees, happen to walk out of the dense trees or brush. At least 4 or 5 times my kills have been surprise sitings, and quite close, requiring a quick set up.
Quick draw for hunting situation? You might want to re film without all that clickity clank going on. Looks like you’d always be fighting this to stay put
NOT AN HONEST REVIEW, GO HUNT SHOULD DO BETTER. I am setting this sling system up on my mystery ranch Metcalf. If i lean forward and right the gun falls off my shoulder every time. Am i doing something wrong in the set up? THE GUY IN VIDEO SHOULD LEAN AND TWIST TO PROVE GUN STAYS ON SHOULDER, it does not stay in place.
Just got this sling and right away I can tell it’s not going to work in the field, it slides right off with any slight movements and does not fit well with my pop up 38…#GARBAGE
This sling is absolute garbage. I thought it was a great idea, it absolutely is not. The rifle always slips off your shoulder risking damage to your optics or the rifle itself. I have some nasty scratches on a leupold vx6hd because of this piece of shit.
Many hunters also wear a bino harness. How does this work if I’m wearing a bino harness?
That magnetic detach sound seems like it would scare the animal.
probably shouldn't have your rifle slung into your backpack if you are concerned about scaring an animal that is close enough to hear that....
So would a safety
you sir have infiltrated my first thought without even being in the same room as I. A Jedi are you?
That is a awesome setup, and with the same rifle I ordered! Getting pumped for hunting season!
Hell yeah! Thanks for watching
Pretty cool.

its 100 bucks now
Sounds a bit loud for hunting. Is it?
super
Can it be used on the left side?
That’s awesome but I need one for a Hoyt Bow.
How does it work with the Bino harness, does it get in the way at all.
A bino harness should not affect the functionality of this rifle sling since your pack will be on over your bino harness.
@@GOHUNT I think he is concerned about the strap affecting the functionality of the bino harness.....

Sorry to hear that Kevin!
I'll just use my own backpack strap.

learn how to cross draw carry... i had the same situation and now it works perfectly

@@GOHUNT I'll give it a go. Thx.
Btw, son got a 6x5 raghorn MT opening day. Of course we had a death march getting it out. Good luck to you all too.
That's awesome! Best of luck to you too! Tell your son congrats!
Loud as hell, if you had to pull it off quick the buckles would scare the animal away.
If you need to get that close you've probably scared the animal off already with movement
