Also great for stay at home Moms. I remember 5aking my daughter to Target, just to get out of the house for a bit. Nothing to buy and no money to buy something if I did want to, but strolling the aisles at Target was a great break!
when you phrase it as "spend a little on herself". Put that into context and read what you wrote. First of all, its not a secret that having a kid is hard work. Even those without kids can see it. A lot of stay at home moms these days cant relate to working people without kids because they dont know what its like to have a manager and be told what to do and have given hours and do the job of 5. Even if they held a job prior, its seems like moms today think they know XYZ about life. Motherhood isn't a job, you dont get paid to be on the clock of someone else. You dont wear all the hats at once. Second, when you phrase it as "spend a little on herself" really does come across as selfish, especially right away. As if you didn't just get the biggest lifetime present to yourself that you chose to create. Its not something you bought, the kid directly belongs to you. You got the entire thing that is half you and now you need a "little something for yourself". You already got a thing, a thing that will grow and you can always call your own. If you really put that word for word into context, you shouldn't need anything more for yourself right away after having a kid. You chose to give all your time to that baby who needs you all that time. Those babies didn't choose it for you. Choices come with consequences and well... a consequence to becoming a parent is to lose a lot of what you had as time for yourself or be selfish and buy for yourself. If you want things for yourself, dont be a parent. Even if you aren't a parent, many give their time and you choose to give up that time.

Oh my gosh! You got comments back! Awesome! I've wanted to thank you and Heidi since I found your channel. My husband and I are expecting our first baby right now, a girl. And we have binge watched a ton of your videos. Thanks for laughing through parenthood with us.
Hoorah for Silverettes! My husband ordered me a set 3 days after our first was born and they have been so good those first few weeks with all 3 of our kids.
I literally showered at the hospital and didn’t shower again for 7 days when I got home w my first new born. It sounds absurd even to me now but, it’s no joke. Overwhelmed
My oldest is 27, when she was a baby we did tree work so she slept through chainsaws, blowers, it was funny. Unlike my youngest she was afraid of a public toilet with auto flush it terrified her thought it would suck her down.
That fear of auto flush toilet's doesn't go away. You just learn to tolerate it. I'm 27 and still get a little freaked when the toilet auto-flushes when I don't want it too.
Y'all forgot coffee cards and food delivery service/meal delivery service. I'm pregnant and already using instacart, because who wants to go grocery shopping with kids while pregnant?? Somehow I always spend alot more at grocery store when I asked them with me 😂
Can TOTALLY relate to watching the birthing shows, one right after another. I was OBSESSED with "A Baby Story" on Lifetime everyday when I was preggers some 20+ yrs ago.
I remember that show. My aunt would watch it when she was pregnant with her son who is now 21. I was 11 at the time and a little traumatized. I gave birth to mu 2nd 7 months ago and was obsessed with watching I Didn't Know I Was Pregnant.
My husband picked our daiper bag. ...aaand it was not a daiper bag. It was this HUGE military backpack, as wide as it was long, that took up all available space underneath the stroller. It was an absolute pain to get out from under there or find anything in (it had NO extra pockets) and always smelled distinctly like an army surplus warehouse - and my husband loved it, so I begrudingly stuck with it until he accidentally left it in a damp space and ruined it himself. I picked the next daiper bag. It's pink.
A couple comfortable dark colored robes for mom the first few weeks postpartum after a c section because you ARE NOT going to want anything touching your incision and its easy access when breastfeeding with a nursing bra on.
When I was a newborn, my aunt told my mom, “Don’t stop everything when the baby’s napping. Let her get used to noise; vacuum, wash dishes, etc.” IT WORKED-nothing bothered me! ⏩ Me in middle school: zonking out every day during Science because that’s when they run the floor waxer. ⏩ Me at uni: snoozing over my textbooks in the laundry room because the machines make such lovely droning sounds. Moral of the story: There are positives and negatives to everything, though the negs might take a while to manifest.
I remember as a kid knocking out every time my mom would blow dry her hair and then be jolted awake when she turned it off.... LOL But also, I can't sleep without the sound of a fan on. So there's also that. Hotels are a nightmare if I forget my fan. LOL

I love that your kids are not at all inconvenienced by loud noise. My aunt raised her kids in SILENCE, so anytime the kids were sleeping, you had to literally tip-toe around, TV had to be off, no appliances could be running, you couldn't even fart without waking them up; it was ridiculous! That is not realistic whatsoever.
U know, ive never really thought about that before. I bet thats why the babies i know wake up crying when its completely quiet. They r used to the sounds of normal life going on so the quiet probably sucks for a while for a baby.
Getting a gift card all throughout the pregnancy is a lifeline later, to be honest. Because there is always something you need and it's always between pay days.
