this band saved my life growing up when they first came out they are the reason why I'm still alive today they helped me through so much my past life up until today please keep on making music
For me was more three days days graces but the are still on my fav female vocal rock bands even if lacey quit or they are on hiatus woul be nice to see a reunion
@LolI've seen her acoustic sets and she sounds completely fine in those. Live, she does tend to go off key a bit, but I'd attribute that more to how much she's bouncing around. And I say this as a huge, HUGE Flyleaf fan.
in her interview she has said if her voice sounded badly the sound tech would make would of the instruments louder to cover up her voice so you dont notice her voice is weaken in that certain area.
What's with all these hate comments? Yes, the live version of songs sounds completely different than the studio version. Get over it and listen to the song. Don't like it, don't listen to it.
James Culpepper is, without a doubt, my favorite drummer ever. They're all probably my favorite instrumentalists (or at least, up near the top of their fields), but I'm a drummer, so he stands out to me.
Flyleaf drinking game. Go to a show, and one shot for every time the bass player stands a platform to headbang, then jump spins backwards. Bonus shot every time he repeats the cycle within 7 seconds.
the sound of the microphone is Barely loud and damn sound tech but I'm a lover of Lacey strum one of my rock singing bands ever she is amazing and I love her style of fashion I miss having her in the band flyleaf but I love lacey's new songs she is always amazing
If you've ever seen Flyleaf live, then you'd know how much Pat likes to jump around, that gives him more room so he doesn't knock one of the other members down. When I saw them, he would get on top of the speakers and jump off. Crazy, but that's how he was.
@TumiToushi she's not even tired..i've watched every jimmy kimmel live performance and there's always controvercy around vocalists of every band. i dunno maybe it's something with the sound guys of the show but every band that performs there faces problems with the vocals, they can't be heard loud enough.
That explains why the lead guitarist's effects pedal board has about 15+ stomp boxes and whatnot and the rhythm player has a MIDI controller with probably a dozen footswitches, WAY more than what they'd need for one song (and still way more than what most guitarists need for a single show)...and the setlists taped to the stage are a dead giveaway.
Lets just gloss over that the guitarists played the wrong chords or the fact she was singing a half tone off the whole show. Love these guys tbh, shame
Y'all want to know something amazing? Lacey's vocals aren't tired here. They aren't restless. Lacey's vocals are so powerful the soundboard is bleeding her voice into the PA speakers above the stage and behind the stage. They're THAT powerful. Another cool thing is, because her vocal performance is powerful here, the soundboard is also compensating by hard limiting her vocals through the speakers and giving us an estimated 4 channels from her microphone (bleeding) because she's singing loud. It's supposed to be 2 channels (both Mono) running through the center stage (big difference to Back speakers and Above stage speakers). The soundboard cannot compensate for her unbelievably loud vocals, so the speakers above the stage and behind the stage are not supposed to be hearing her vocals from her mic, so they're bleeding from her mic. Those 2 speakers are supposed to be for Jimmy. No, that is not a mistake in the soundboard. She is legitimately THAT loud. So fucking cool, seriously. It didn't dawn on me until the 5th watch of this video that this is what's happening. I used to help with my school's soundboard system, and it's possible to route and direct 1 or 2 speakers to output from 1 mic. In this case, bleeding can occur if someone speaks, sings, or shouts loud enough into 1 microphone to hear something out of an additional 3 or 4 speakers. It was weird, me and my teacher in high school used to think it was weird feedback, but we both discovered it ourselves. Lacey truly is amazing.
That's an awful lot of writing that means nothing. I love her music, Flyleaf and solo work, but don't make excuses. The performance was a little tired and some effects were off.
so that bass player enjoys life more than I do that's for sure
+derpyumadbro lmmmaaao
us bass players always enjoy life. we play BASS!
Yeah cuz he gets to slappa da bass for a living.
He's rocking out!!!!! Some people love performing live!!!!!
Dude is on dope, take a hit, draw some blood, hit the vein, get on his level.
this band saved my life growing up when they first came out they are the reason why I'm still alive today they helped me through so much my past life up until today please keep on making music
i feel you. going through some shet in life currently and they're a reason for me to still stay alive and love this kind of music.
For me was more three days days graces but the are still on my fav female vocal rock bands even if lacey quit or they are on hiatus woul be nice to see a reunion
Even with a bad microphone, she still sounds incredible.
+Lol lol, I like her in studio and live. You try singing like that. Also If you want to hear bad singing look up Amity Affliction Pittsburgh live.
so you got a chance to say that to their face then? ugh
***** She just changed genre of course her voice will change. Atleast she's a legend you're the shit
Lol she hardly sucks lol
@LolI've seen her acoustic sets and she sounds completely fine in those. Live, she does tend to go off key a bit, but I'd attribute that more to how much she's bouncing around. And I say this as a huge, HUGE Flyleaf fan.
The bassist is having the best time of his life.
i love his energy
We always do. Bassists are in their own world
fire the fucking sound tech
Seriously, Too much bass, too much chorus in the mic, Drums could come up a little.
He died...
in her interview she has said if her voice sounded badly the sound tech would make would of the instruments louder to cover up her voice so you dont notice her voice is weaken in that certain area.
I love the attitude. Lacey really connects to the songs, that makes the difference between a good performance and a bad one
My favorite thing about watching her perform- she feels the music, the words, the energy, it's like a high for her and it's beautiful.
"Their new album, Momento Mori". GOD what a time to be alive!!!
i love how much emotion to their songs its just brilliant
that is what I love to Lacey.. She can sing while moving as a rockstar..
I live for Lacey's outfit
My all time fave song by Flyleaf! I can listen to this 24/7 on repeat! Flyleaf won't be the same without you Lacey!
What's with all these hate comments? Yes, the live version of songs sounds completely different than the studio version. Get over it and listen to the song. Don't like it, don't listen to it.
She has the most amazing vocals love her

A BEAUTIFUL WOMAN!
@@Evil.George.Bush1995 being "flat" has nothing to do with beauty.
@@Evil.George.Bush1995 you first mate.
And this is why Jimmy kimmel is the man
I don't think he has anything to do with which bands they invite.

Such an awesome band and you can't beat lacey...so missed
Great upload! I have my headphones cranked up and it sounds powerful and awesome. Great bass sound. I like the mix this way.
James Culpepper is, without a doubt, my favorite drummer ever. They're all probably my favorite instrumentalists (or at least, up near the top of their fields), but I'm a drummer, so he stands out to me.
I swear that bassist jumped on and off that thing like 18 times
Crowd doesn't know anything about this.lol
Flyleaf is MAGICAL!

I love the way that your heart breaks
With every injustice and deadly fates

The guitarist...ROCKS!!!
I LOVE THIS SONG! :)
Love the face that she makes at the ends !

So happy that they are back together.
They got back together
good job in carrying the song even with a quiet mic, you sang your lungs out live!
amazing .
Pat is my spirit animal
This guy gets to meet all my favorite bands! I'm experiencing serious jealousy!
Not autotune. It doubles your voice so you sound fuller. You still have to hit the notes.
Chorusing.
I love you, Lacey! Don't leave!
LACEY IS AMAZING. Dress and jeans again. So cute)
I really love her Oh my god
That stage presence will never ever be replaced. EVER.
And this ...ladies and gentlemen...is how you kick ass.
Errr.... guys, (the ones bellow me) the "bass player" Is called Pat Seals ^^ And yep, he's AWESOME!! Well, actually all Flyleaf is awesome ;D
They definitely put some flange on her vocals, but I know what you're talking about, she has a lot of natural vibrato in her voice.
3:00 I love that face of "I did it, and now I'm done."
i love how this is one of those bands AWESOME live :D

Wow, someone had a lot of energy back there...
Yes Jimmy you have taste GO LACEY!
Pat is the man
amoooo aaa laceeey
Pat and Sameer's hair! Good times. ;)
why does the bass player need his own stage on a stage? someone wants to be the center of attention
Lol. It's an ego riser. Most bands use them.
If you've ever seen Flyleaf live, then you'd know how much Pat likes to jump around, that gives him more room so he doesn't knock one of the other members down. When I saw them, he would get on top of the speakers and jump off. Crazy, but that's how he was.
+Jas miku You have to love Pat like really XDD He can be son funny when he's jumping around xD

@@jasmin3609 you should see the video where he smacks her in the head with his bass because he isnt paying attention
shes good dam
JImmy Kimmel must really like flyleaf! that gives me great respect for him! cause flyleaf is fucking awesome

Ahh sorry for that last comment but i know ever word to this song by heart :D I saw ppl singing in the crowd they weren't singing right xD
How did I miss that episode? O.o
That pedalboard is fucking awesome!!!
Guitarist Awesome
Very talented band and Lacey is very amazing... Just wish they kept it in church if ya know what Im sayin!
Wow this sound Set-up is HORRENDOUS. Don’t do them justice, this crowd got cheated
Mind explaining why?
@TumiToushi she's not even tired..i've watched every jimmy kimmel live performance and there's always controvercy around vocalists of every band. i dunno maybe it's something with the sound guys of the show but every band that performs there faces problems with the vocals, they can't be heard loud enough.
Why does it sound so distorted?
like there's a constant flanger effect on the vocals :/
200th like!!
I love flyleaf, i love jesus, and i love bud light! and the bassist is sick and doesnt need to sit down, anyone who says so is a n00b.
Throw some earphones on and you hear her just fine. or JUST TURN IT UP lol
The algorithm brought me back

Um dude…no. She simply has a doubler effect on her mic. We do it all the time.
So she doesnt know how to take it down a notch, for a simple jimmy kimmel live sound stage. Sometimes louder isn't always better.
@@jeomemo Atheist...
@@somerandomperson3970 thats funny, good one.

Wow. Clever. Did you think that one up all by yourself?
aren't they a christian band ?
+Emely Marrero No - they are not. They are Christians that are in a band. That is straight from her mouth (before she left) ...
+Brandon Sloan ok
+Brandon Sloan you surely have not heard beautiful bride
+luis carlos neria arroyo Just because they have faith based songs does not make them a Christian band.
okaaay, then what does?
Dang, the bassist is really feeling the music lol
does anybody else love her hair
beautiful but hate that vocal filter
rockstars should bring there own mics? because this crap keeps happening and then ppl think the singer sucks when its the equipment
