...and then, in a cruel twist of fate, gamers suddenly became the most physically fit members of society. The jocks were no longer able to compete, and found themselves in decline...
@Redneck Hillbilly your name tells me that you have a child addicted in playing games so much that he is so fat and does not go outside. It also tells me that you deny technology. if you're technically moving, then you are exerting energy, exercising is the same. Therefore this is actually an exercise intrument for gamers.
As funny as this is, it might just serve to show that VR is capable of being used in sports and fitness applications. It might bridge the gap between gamers and jocks even further! Assuming it catches on and becomes more accessible, of course.
Thomas Hines The infinadeck is not good at all. It has a major delay when moving and you can't start running immediately you have to slowly ramp up the speed. You also cant turn instantly on the infinadeck. The best one for now is the Omni.
Infinideck looks the most promising to me. The Cyberith guy made a good point about concave base platforms, and while his product looks good, I think the Infinideck is unique in that more physical matter is involved. It's the difference between running in place and running on a treadmill-- on one, you don't actually travel any distance, whereas on the other, you do, but you still stay in the same spot. I think the treadmill component will also help its mass appeal. People know what treadmills are, and they're comfortable with them. Most people probably won't have heard of or understand the technology in the other products. Additionally, it will be easier to market Infinideck, as it could be used as an exercise machine even if you don't have a VR headset. And then, of course, it could prompt more people to adopt VR. It's more feasible that a family of four would buy an Infinideck for the exercise room, and then the VR enthusiast of the family says "hey, this thing is built to provide a better VR experience, let's get a VR headset because we've made the biggest investment already!" I'd hope that the final product is a little less bulky, and maybe has a sit-down support feature like many of the other products. But whenever any of these come out, I expect they'll all be prohibitively expensive for most people. It might take five or ten years for the prices to drop to something affordable for most people, but they'll still probably cost three to four times the VR headset and kit itself.

they kinda lied in their video tho saying you would not hit anything. But they never show anyone walking towards the big pillar in the "back" of the treadmill.

I have to say that I've tried the Virtuix Omni in a live 15 minute demo and it BLEW MY MIND. So natural and real feeling. It took me all of ZERO minutes to get used to it. It just worked! It's hard to explain until you try it for yourself. I think It's also the furthest along by far - They have already delivered hundreds of these by now and just raised another $10 or so million to ramp up production further. The Infinadeck looks cool but i wonder how much it will cost... Thousands? 5 figures? Lots of moving parts there... Same worry about the KatWalk. The Virtuix Omni is only approx ~ $600 - Not cheap, ok, but manageable for sure The Rovr looks like the most dangerous and least real-feeling of them all. Does anyone have an updates on the VR Omni Treadmill Leaderboard at the moment?

It could only in my mind be toppled by all of this and what I described for the Infinadeck earlier. But that's all this all this, life an endless circle of company's fighting to be the best using backhanded tactics and re-writing/no one really caring about history after the fact. I can't wait to see who wins folks, because it's us the consumers!
KATVR is my favourite solution of the bunch. it brings interesting new innovations to the table, and the idea of using wheelies in a bowl to track movement is inspired!
Looks like most of these are the 1st generation, but Kat is the 2nd, kind of a analizing the problems of what came before and coming up with better solutions
They were just showcasing how fun it would be to have a slip and slide under your feet in the middle of your living room. Perfect for breaking your neck!
So far the infinadeck looks like the best solution.... of course it will probably cost as much as a used car. That wizdish thing looks incredibly stupid.
Honestly, as far as I have seen with the infinadeck then the conveyors have too much momentum and won't stop when you stop, which results in the ground moving around under you. also walking diagonally seems awkward
I like the infinideck because you don't need to have rollers or frictionless shoes. Once VR headsets are able to go wireless you could change the frame that suspends you to a two pillar frame and you could practice front flips and back flips.
Just imagine having walked for a few miles in skyrim then fighting a few bandits then a dragon swooping down...talk about stamina needed lol! will be dope
I think Cyberith is the best set up imo. The flat surface should work better than the bowl shape. It is also a very secure design with its 3 pillars cancelling momentum. Very excited for this.
Hello. Beware of that product and find some info about that frauds. There are many information that developer takes money from Kickstarter and didn't send promissed equipment. Old (2-3 years) story. Sad...
KatVR and ImfinaDeck appear to be the best, KatVR because it seems pretty compact and slick, and InfinaDeck because it actually has a moving floor unlike the rest, which makes the experience more realistic.
The last one looks pretty fake, as you might notice he walks in a straight line and never moves to another block, and if there is a house or hill, he just walks through it
The problem is that you sweat enough with a VR headset on its own, even in a well ventilated room. You're just bathing your face with heat. Combining that with a treadmill will be messy until headsets become smaller.
I never have this problem with psvr but I have it with other headsets. I think the design of psvr is good at solving that problem. The screens hang down in front of your eyes instead of being pushed against your face so air is still coming through to your face. It's more of a VR visor than they are goggles
What they really need to do is build something like this combined with a aerotrim (human gyroscope). Then, instead of just standing or walking you could sky-drive (have your body horizontal and facing the floor), climb stairs, twist left/right, etc...
Precisely Samuel Muldoon have you seen The Lawnmower Man by Stephen Spielberg the first one I think what he built was amazing I felt thats how we should interact in the vr world over the years thought has anyone made anything like this. Well I finally put. It out there has anyone made such a thing? The way I felt about that you'd think I'd have jumped on the vr bandwagon years ago nearly did probably 20 odd years ago PCFormat advertised one inside front cover. Few years ago got a phone based one used a little Got the PSVR, Year ago or so and earlier this year the Quest (really wanted to be wireless!) none of them really done much there's just something wrong about them gosh I'm writing a bloomin novel Do think maybe should have got the Rift and a high spec laptop. Seen a video gameplay of Lone Echo about 2 years ago amazing and a FULL Virtual Body nothing else I have seen utilises the VR like this. Watching The Matrix those years ago sparked me off again why isn't there a VR version if it had been up to me that would have been one of the first games to reboot for VR right I really must stop but there it is. How FEEL about VR is out there
Flamer997 yes it's very possible the input stopped before he stopped fully walking. in most VR treadmills they're feeding analog stick input to games so it can get jank.
I'm gonna say it's because headset itself isn't actually moving forward. They probably haven't got a solid way of linking the movement of the treadmill to what happens in the game yet. Shouldn't be much of a problem though.
So far I like the Cyberith Virtualizer the best as an all around solution since it seems like a good balance of cost, size and ease of use. I like how it offers the ability to [truly] sit and kneel, and also doesn't require special shoes or anything like that, but I can barely find current information on it's production. Did the company fold? Is it still scheduled for commercial release?
it may be an cheaper option but i'm my opinion the first one is better, the main reason i think this is because the KAT allows for a more immersive experience with jumping and leaning. leaning has become a quite big element in Vr and seems is getting bigger. the problem with cyberith is that the circle around you limits your posture to running really awkwardly.
I know I am late to the party here, but I actually tried the Virtualizer in a rebranded version at FIBO last year. I asked if it was the Virtualizer that was used, and it was. I was really excited because I also had really high hopes for the product, but I have to say I was a bit disappointed. The foot tracking is really not that good, and you struggle to actually get any locomotion going in the game. I like the KatVR concept a lot better. Seems like a good trade off between the quietness of the Vitrualizer and the better tracking of the quite noisy Omini. Just my thoughts :)
I feel like alot of these companies way overthought their design they dont really need any additional sensors on it except for the feet since everything can already be tracked by the headset and controllers
Some HMD's. The older ones like the Vive OG don't track your legs unless you have seperate trackers on them. Also some don't have enough sensory data to determine if you are sitting, standing or kneeling. I play one game seated and it keeps thinking I am crouching so my character is only 3 feet tall and walks really slow.
That looks like it offers the most 1:1 simulation of movement and locomotion, but at drastic costs. It looks way too big and expensive for commercial use, and doesn't seem to offer a solution for sitting within virtual worlds, which is necessary for vehicle transportation within games.
Infin-a-deck is the unreal deal. Least obstruction, and less wear on your ankles. It is the only one that could possibly allow the player to go prone. It also has the boon of being the most like the rig used in "Ready Player One". So I guess it is Steven Spielberg's pick as well.
And it looks like it will be the most expensive and likely to malfunction with as many moving parts it has. But it is a prototype that I haven't tried so i am only guessing.
@@Faolan_Grey let me rephrase what I said the SOFTWARE was genius it picks up sound and moves forward just put microphones under a hexagon plate like the others and you can walk and run
I truly like the Infinadeck because of the design which is like the Omnidirectional treadmill in ready player one and it allows you to even walk as fast as you like. Im really looking forward to Infinadeck.
Kat walk seems pretty good seeing as you don't have handrails around you, but it sort of restricts you from jumping movements. Like some people use VR for dancing and some of these movements require more movement than just walking.
the fact that infinadenk used VRChat as a test for this, is amazing. if this ever hits the markets, just imagin all people with full body and in that thing! it would be litterly like they are walking in a different universe
The virtualizer looks the best to me. But the Kat Walk is a very close second for me. Of course any one of these would be awesome to have. I'd certainly settle for the Omni with no complaints whatsoever. I've always known 360 VR treadmills were coming, it is a pretty obvious and essential step for full VR after all (doesn't make me any less excited to seen them already arriving). But the concepts I am seeing are so much more compact and elegant then I ever imagined. I always assumed it would have to be something more along the lines of the Infinideck (literally a 360 treadmill). It never even occurred to me that you could just use a smooth, nearly-frictionless, surface and a harness instead.
Gareth Thompson its your opinion but the katwalk is number 1 for me. Omni is 2. Cyberith is 3. The Virtualizer base is flat with makes it look uncomfortable to walk on. The Virtualizers ring also limits arm movement. Kat is free of movement and more open.
imagine playing with the current full set, Loocmotion, VR Headset, Controllers, Full Tracking, Haptic Suits, And For Some Specific Games Like Pavlov Rifle-Controller, Can't think of anything else that is currently existing.
infinadeck looks industrial and strong. It seems like something you would have in a mall as a demo. Although all the moving parts are a little worrying in terms of maintenance.
The infinadeck is mind blowing. The price of these things is even more mind blowing. wiz dish looks awful. he has to.hold on to the ring to stop himself from falling over.
The VR winner will be the one, which fix the problem with walking and running. From the video it seems like "Infin Deck" have made the best solution for running/walking. It looks more natural than the other examples. Nice video by the way :)
It is not realistic it does not represent the movements and strength of the real effort I have better ideas just with a removable floor and clothes without gadjets that will hold you .. we are in 2017 friends Your idea and too old with technology we have, we not need a big gadjet to reproduce and record movements identical to that of the man.
I think I'd like a combo of the first one and infinideck. Just make it between 2-3 meters squared and give people to make REAL runs, jumps, fight moves, and go prone/crawl, too. Add the 17+ point motion tracking from another VR tech video, and that exoskeleton hand thing from another video, and that tactile sensation suit from another video, shrink down the goggles and make them lighter, and we're absolutely golden.
What these treadmills need is a harness that can lift you up and down so you can simulate falling and perform massive jumps and fly it would feel amazing!
I like KAT and the Virtualizer. The only thing I think is missing from the cat is the Virtualizer's ability to let you jump comfortably. However how it is set up, further controls could be added to the mount when you enter a vehicle and be given the command to drop down to your side, with an indicator in the headset to reorient you.
The Infin Deck 11:45 would good for the boxing games out there for VR.. you need to be able to side jump step, back and forward jump step to avoid punchs!!
2 features I wanna see in these: Prone, and changes in height depending on what you see in VR. You know how when you don't pay attention going upstairs/downstairs, and you think there's one more step? Yeah, it's gonna be like that in VR to rl.
I say the InfinaDeck is the best. Only things that bother me are that it might be a bit big for most people (Though that lets it have a more natural walking movement than the rest) and the bar that hangs behind your legs. If they did something like the others did where you can crouch by moving a piston or similar down I think it would be much better, as you could walk faster without worry of hitting the backs of your legs against it. (Although the site says the current maximum speed of the belts is 6mph) I think the flat surface and natural walking movement, along with the rage of motion you have on it is the best of all of the options. The Rovr seems like a great one if you don't have a large budget and don't have much space, but the walking seems very annoying.
Infinadeck looked really nice until I started noticing the awkward movement after stopping. I also wonder how sensitive it is cause if it's anything like a skateboard it could end up moving if you lean a little too much to either sides, if that makes sense. As of now the KAT looks best with the freedom of hand movements and leans.
The Infinadeck behaves exactly like how a treadmill feels. You can't stop quickly as the rolling platform has momentum after you stop applying walking force. You can't start running away quickly also because of the treadmill-based design, which needs time to reach higher speed. It's like the ground is not yielding to your foot push. It won't feel like natural walking or running. The friction plate design, whether bowl or flat, is more realistic as there's no ground movement caused by momentum when you stop or start.
To have a FULL BODY mech suit that can simulate an environment AND it's effects as well as barriers WHILE on a very custom and slimed down infinideck that can accommodate any type of moment a.k.a sitting/standing/prone/falling or running at normal or an enhanced speed. THAT is the pipe dream.
That would involve a TILTING deck to 90 degrees with rotation and Gforce vibration! The fun that will be had!!! It's been 4 years since these girls did this and we are still decades to the dream. A gamer can dream thou. 🤞
The Infinadeck looks really cool, also the closest to the Ready Player One idea. But it contains a lot of moving parts that have a significant mass. That means, there will always be an inertness to be overcome and a high wear-down effect. My beds are on KAT walk. If they manage that I can really run and jump safely inside the VR for a reasonable price, I will definitely buy one.
The next hurdle is going to be aerial traversal, such as Titanfall, Anthem, Mirror's Edge, pretty much any game where you travel through the air, imagine playing Modern Warfare 3 and getting thrown out the window by Soap, once we have mastered that imagine what will come next.
Just like the GUIs replaced the command line, and web applications are replacing desktop applications maybe a custimizable VR "operating system" might replace our internet and operating system. The VR OS will use head and eye tracking and lip-reading to input commands and text. Folders and not used windows will be shown in pseudo-3D with the C folder and the desktop being out of focus and very small in the background. Scrolling will be replaced by walking through a folder. Websites will be more like 3D power points with much less text. The OS can be custimized to require more or less physical extersion, for example, walking could be used to scroll web pages.
Whichever wins, I'm yearning to be able to buy it. I miss some of the beautiful landscapes of Azeroth, but I don't have time to play WOW and do sports. However, if I could play WOW and walk and jump and run at the same time, I would gladly go back. I could be playing for hours and then think "I walked for three hours today". I walk hours in real life, but it gets boring to do the same stuff. Walking through the streets of Stormwind or Darnassus would be totally different... I wonder if they have something planned for stairs.
The 1 & 4 are the way to go i think because there is nothing that will be in your arm field, but my problem would be that we need way more foot space. For walking ok but sprinting (may jumpiing?) can get difficult without walk acceleration software stuff (what would take away the immersion)
Kay walk seems idea for everyone, but we don’t even know if it will work. Launch could be tough or they might go under from it. I.just hope it works out and in a few years it’ll be good enough for the average consumer.
...and then, in a cruel twist of fate, gamers suddenly became the most physically fit members of society. The jocks were no longer able to compete, and found themselves in decline...
@Redneck Hillbilly your name tells me that you have a child addicted in playing games so much that he is so fat and does not go outside. It also tells me that you deny technology.

KatVR way better than everything else
not really becouse the big pillar behind you. You will hit it.
Infinadeck is objectively the best one by far, but it's probably gonna cost and eye and a leg. KatVR is the overall best solution.
Gabriel Rodriguez It would be the best if it wasent for the big pillar in the back.
The only thing the infinadeck has over the kat is the pillar as said above, everything else is better on the kat.

-This one gets two because no one likes walls of text that large, but it's like you don't want to put your faith in Kat natively because it's a china product coming in and capturing all the greatest components of modern tech out there and adding just the right bits and now going to take all market-share POTENTIALLY but with the fact you don't have a diaper on the Kat and you don't need the Omni special shoes... plus I personally believe your feet/socks/shoes on a high friction service plus rolling pins and no diaper and the arm attached to your back is the BEST OPTION OFFERED CURRENTLY FROM ANYONE.

KATVR is my favourite solution of the bunch. it brings interesting new innovations to the table, and the idea of using wheelies in a bowl to track movement is inspired!
thanks for watching.
Looks like most of these are the 1st generation, but Kat is the 2nd, kind of a analizing the problems of what came before and coming up with better solutions
cyberith is 3rd if im not mistaken
thx for watching.
wizdish may be the worst demo I've ever fucking seen lol.
They were just showcasing how fun it would be to have a slip and slide under your feet in the middle of your living room. Perfect for breaking your neck!
lol, that shit was trash
The funny part is, that was fake...
Faroskalin
Totally true. And yet, that's probably the one that we'll be able to afford in our homes lol
Faroskalin fake af too
So far the infinadeck looks like the best solution.... of course it will probably cost as much as a used car. That wizdish thing looks incredibly stupid.
it is the best solution, see this sub reddit post. www.reddit.com/r/oculus/comments/40162q/virtuix_omni_vs_infinadeck_indepth_comparison_at/
but you cant kick on it
You mean a new car...
Honestly, as far as I have seen with the infinadeck then the conveyors have too much momentum and won't stop when you stop, which results in the ground moving around under you.
also walking diagonally seems awkward
Wait.... so you're saying I can buy all that if gave away an ear? I only need one of em!
I like the infinideck because you don't need to have rollers or frictionless shoes. Once VR headsets are able to go wireless you could change the frame that suspends you to a two pillar frame and you could practice front flips and back flips.
thx for watching.
I want one that is compatible with Skyrim, think of how much exercise you would get
What about breath of the wild.
Cyberith is compatible.. there are many gameplays in his channel :/
Just imagine having walked for a few miles in skyrim then fighting a few bandits then a dragon swooping down...talk about stamina needed lol! will be dope
@@thecoz91 remove the stamina bar entirely and rely on your own for
maximum immersion
@@jhgproductions7295 Hell Yea Brother!
Sad...
Ok
KatVR and ImfinaDeck appear to be the best, KatVR because it seems pretty compact and slick, and InfinaDeck because it actually has a moving floor unlike the rest, which makes the experience more realistic.
thanks for watching.
Rovr looks pretty goddamned sad
Should be pretty good for some kind of frozen lake simulator tho...
He was only going straight the entire time and used a ps4 controller to move his character.
** insert Minecraft oof noise**
You cant lift your feet at all or it will confuse the system😂
ye its meant for frozen lake sim lol it looks so pathetic
The last one looks pretty fake, as you might notice he walks in a straight line and never moves to another block, and if there is a house or hill, he just walks through it
The problem is that you sweat enough with a VR headset on its own, even in a well ventilated room. You're just bathing your face with heat. Combining that with a treadmill will be messy until headsets become smaller.
Doctor Yak or they install fans on the headsets
Or you could turn on the ac
I never have this problem with psvr but I have it with other headsets. I think the design of psvr is good at solving that problem. The screens hang down in front of your eyes instead of being pushed against your face so air is still coming through to your face. It's more of a VR visor than they are goggles
Yak or they put you in a 3D dome like the holodeck
U can just set the speed at which Ur character walks ×ur normal walk
How FEEL about VR is out there
ok
I noticed on the infinadeck video the guy was still walking forwards when his character stopped and moved backwords at 10:15
Yeah, it's a commercial..
his character was just walking into that tree
Probably since he hit a tree
Flamer997 yes it's very possible the input stopped before he stopped fully walking. in most VR treadmills they're feeding analog stick input to games so it can get jank.
I'm gonna say it's because headset itself isn't actually moving forward. They probably haven't got a solid way of linking the movement of the treadmill to what happens in the game yet. Shouldn't be much of a problem though.
Kat Walk + Tesla Suit + HTC VR = Heaven on Earth.
ok
In a few years, someone's gonna figure out how to do high jumps, acrobatics, and climbing walls in VR.
Can't wait to blow my salary
Connor Kerling in a few decades, maybe you won't have to?
Like in the assassin's creed movie
At that point you should just go outside and wear AR goggles that projects mirrors edge into the real world. ;)
That would be cool
So far I like the Cyberith Virtualizer the best as an all around solution since it seems like a good balance of cost, size and ease of use. I like how it offers the ability to [truly] sit and kneel, and also doesn't require special shoes or anything like that, but I can barely find current information on it's production. Did the company fold? Is it still scheduled for commercial release?
website still but no news or tweets in about a year. not sure whats going on with them. read somewhere that they may gave disappointed some backers.
Thanks for the reply. That would be unfortunate if they went under
it may be an cheaper option but i'm my opinion the first one is better, the main reason i think this is because the KAT allows for a more immersive experience with jumping and leaning. leaning has become a quite big element in Vr and seems is getting bigger. the problem with cyberith is that the circle around you limits your posture to running really awkwardly.
No they are not. Cyberith is not responding to their backers anymore. Look at the kickstarter board
I play one game seated and it keeps thinking I am crouching so my character is only 3 feet tall and walks really slow.
ok
I think the kat walk is the best one. Allows free movement
OK
Infinideck is what i wanted always to make.
That looks like it offers the most 1:1 simulation of movement and locomotion, but at drastic costs. It looks way too big and expensive for commercial use, and doesn't seem to offer a solution for sitting within virtual worlds, which is necessary for vehicle transportation within games.
always wanted*
It's not fake. Its been demo'd at vr conferences for a couple years now. Read the reviews.
Direction is conveyed via that lever mechanism.
they can! it has thin horizontal belts and 1 vertical
Will see how the diffrent brands will develop
KAT Walk is the best imo just waiting for it to go public and for me to get a job
ok
So I've only watched the KatVr, and I'm prolly not gonna watch the rest but. My only concern is...What if I wanna lay down?
Dont lay down then
get out of the katvr
On shooters be great but some shooters do need prone to take cover so yeah, I think they said can nearly be down on KatVr mini but not sure
MrSanfrinsisco laying down is for pussies
You press lay down button
Infin-a-deck is the unreal deal. Least obstruction, and less wear on your ankles. It is the only one that could possibly allow the player to go prone. It also has the boon of being the most like the rig used in "Ready Player One". So I guess it is Steven Spielberg's pick as well.
thanks for watching.
Kat walk provides the best solution as of now
And it looks like it will be the most expensive and likely to malfunction with as many moving parts it has.
But it is a prototype that I haven't tried so i am only guessing.
Katwalk is roughly $5000
Oof
thanks for watching.
I think it is cool that many of the treadmills opted for a frictionless disk instead of a treadmill
thanks for watching.
the real question some of us are asking is where can we get them how much do they cost and witch one is the cheapest.
The $499 WizDish Rovr will be the cheapest without a doubt but the other questions I'm still waiting for..... IN 2019!!
@@jaxzkyd7789 $499 for that piece of garbage?!

i wish them nothing but the best in the years to come.
🙂
Give me something I can actively play Mirrors Edge on!
all of those games: mirrors edge, dying light or assassins creed would be so nice.
You're gonna have to wait until we can skip hardware and interface with the brain directly.
Or until we're allowed to go outside and interact with reality directly :D
Yeah, it's called outside and it's free haha
I hope this is a troll.
I truly like the Infinadeck because of the design which is like the Omnidirectional treadmill in ready player one and it allows you to even walk as fast as you like. Im really looking forward to Infinadeck.
ok
What is the cost of KAT Walk and the requirements to run it with games.
LuckysProjects 👍 depends which one, mini is 1500 and regular I think is 3000?
thx for watching.
Kat walk seems pretty good seeing as you don't have handrails around you, but it sort of restricts you from jumping movements. Like some people use VR for dancing and some of these movements require more movement than just walking.
ok
I need one ... now !
ROVR
thx for watching.
the fact that infinadenk used VRChat as a test for this, is amazing. if this ever hits the markets, just imagin all people with full body and in that thing! it would be litterly like they are walking in a different universe
ok
@@C5Drones rereading my comment is cringe
First versions looks already good, they need to add some kind of hydraulics or exoskeleton to it maybe
thx for watching.
Kat is free of movement and more open.
ok

infinadeck looks industrial and strong. It seems like something you would have in a mall as a demo. Although all the moving parts are a little worrying in terms of maintenance.

Battlefield 3 VR? The future is closer than we think. That was a cool Kat!
Yup
Well, if it cost a leg to buy it, I won't need this product anymore.
Nah, someone would bring out a kangaroo simulator so you could hop everywhere.

The VR winner will be the one, which fix the problem with walking and running. From the video it seems like "Infin Deck" have made the best solution for running/walking. It looks more natural than the other examples. Nice video by the way :)
ok
These need more improvement than the current VR headsets.
cool though.
thanks for watching.
RoVR... it just never gets old...
thx for watching.
It is not realistic it does not represent the movements and strength of the real effort I have better ideas just with a removable floor and clothes without gadjets that will hold you .. we are in 2017 friends Your idea and too old with technology we have, we not need a big gadjet to reproduce and record movements identical to that of the man.
Strongly agreed
thanks for watching.
The one that allows strafing, jumping, crouching, and of course everything else, will be the winner. So far KatVR is the best looking one.
thanks for watching.
I think I'd like a combo of the first one and infinideck. Just make it between 2-3 meters squared and give people to make REAL runs, jumps, fight moves, and go prone/crawl, too. Add the 17+ point motion tracking from another VR tech video, and that exoskeleton hand thing from another video, and that tactile sensation suit from another video, shrink down the goggles and make them lighter, and we're absolutely golden.
thx for watching.
Kat walk seems to be the best to me.
thanks for watching.
My baby jumper days finally coming in handy!
OK
What these treadmills need is a harness that can lift you up and down so you can simulate falling and perform massive jumps and fly it would feel amazing!
🙂
Kat VR with the Cyberith walking is the winner.
🙂
i like how in the kat walk you can straight up ride a car with an mp5
thanks for watching.
I like KAT and the Virtualizer. The only thing I think is missing from the cat is the Virtualizer's ability to let you jump comfortably. However how it is set up, further controls could be added to the mount when you enter a vehicle and be given the command to drop down to your side, with an indicator in the headset to reorient you.
thx for watching.

Why is this so much better than the current versions?
not sure
The Infin Deck 11:45 would good for the boxing games out there for VR.. you need to be able to side jump step, back and forward jump step to avoid punchs!!
thx for watching.
I love how they found a way to let you sit

Infinadeck treadmill + katwalk pillar = perfection
ok
Ive been thinking of these products all of those years
Cool
2 features I wanna see in these:
Prone, and changes in height depending on what you see in VR. You know how when you don't pay attention going upstairs/downstairs, and you think there's one more step? Yeah, it's gonna be like that in VR to rl.
ok
I say the InfinaDeck is the best. Only things that bother me are that it might be a bit big for most people (Though that lets it have a more natural walking movement than the rest) and the bar that hangs behind your legs. If they did something like the others did where you can crouch by moving a piston or similar down I think it would be much better, as you could walk faster without worry of hitting the backs of your legs against it. (Although the site says the current maximum speed of the belts is 6mph)
I think the flat surface and natural walking movement, along with the rage of motion you have on it is the best of all of the options.
The Rovr seems like a great one if you don't have a large budget and don't have much space, but the walking seems very annoying.
thanks for watching.
Cyberith is the best !!! Very realistic for in home use. Plus it folds up !
thanks for watching.
Infinadeck looked really nice until I started noticing the awkward movement after stopping. I also wonder how sensitive it is cause if it's anything like a skateboard it could end up moving if you lean a little too much to either sides, if that makes sense. As of now the KAT looks best with the freedom of hand movements and leans.
thx for watching.
I have seen the catwalk... but man that's a convincing pitch

Kat is the best, the last one is more what we will be able to afford!

The infinadeck seems like the best one in my opinion. I hope they streamline something like that design to make it affordable
ok
The Infinadeck behaves exactly like how a treadmill feels. You can't stop quickly as the rolling platform has momentum after you stop applying walking force. You can't start running away quickly also because of the treadmill-based design, which needs time to reach higher speed. It's like the ground is not yielding to your foot push. It won't feel like natural walking or running. The friction plate design, whether bowl or flat, is more realistic as there's no ground movement caused by momentum when you stop or start.
thanks for watching.
thanks for watching.
That would be pretty cool to try.
thanks for watching.
The Infinadeck looks really cool, also the closest to the Ready Player One idea. But it contains a lot of moving parts that have a significant mass. That means, there will always be an inertness to be overcome and a high wear-down effect.
My beds are on KAT walk. If they manage that I can really run and jump safely inside the VR for a reasonable price, I will definitely buy one.
ok
The next hurdle is going to be aerial traversal, such as Titanfall, Anthem, Mirror's Edge, pretty much any game where you travel through the air, imagine playing Modern Warfare 3 and getting thrown out the window by Soap, once we have mastered that imagine what will come next.
ok
I was drawing stuff like this when I was a kid back in the 90s. Except I imagined a large trackball like from mice way back then.
ok
Just like the GUIs replaced the command line, and web applications are replacing desktop applications maybe a custimizable VR "operating system" might replace our internet and operating system. The VR OS will use head and eye tracking and lip-reading to input commands and text. Folders and not used windows will be shown in pseudo-3D with the C folder and the desktop being out of focus and very small in the background. Scrolling will be replaced by walking through a folder. Websites will be more like 3D power points with much less text. The OS can be custimized to require more or less physical extersion, for example, walking could be used to scroll web pages.
ok
if you ask mee the kat walk is the best.
ok
Whichever wins, I'm yearning to be able to buy it. I miss some of the beautiful landscapes of Azeroth, but I don't have time to play WOW and do sports. However, if I could play WOW and walk and jump and run at the same time, I would gladly go back. I could be playing for hours and then think "I walked for three hours today". I walk hours in real life, but it gets boring to do the same stuff. Walking through the streets of Stormwind or Darnassus would be totally different... I wonder if they have something planned for stairs.
thanks for watching.
your videos are like infommercials
thanks for watching.
The infideck can work with prone/crawling if they made it a bit bigger. That's one thing they are leaving out. Prone and crawling
thanks for watching.
The 1 & 4 are the way to go i think because there is nothing that will be in your arm field, but my problem would be that we need way more foot space. For walking ok but sprinting (may jumpiing?) can get difficult without walk acceleration software stuff (what would take away the immersion)
ok
Kay walk seems idea for everyone, but we don’t even know if it will work. Launch could be tough or they might go under from it. I.just hope it works out and in a few years it’ll be good enough for the average consumer.
