They don't need to go get a bat from another organization. They need to cut Urias loose and bring up Mayo and let him be the everyday third baseman, let Westburg be the everyday second baseman, and let Kjerstad be the everyday LF against righties and lefties. Let Hays platoon with Mullins in CF. The only thing they might want to go outside for is a new backup catcher, but otherwise they have all of the pieces in-house. The team just needs to deploy them properly. Oh, and in the offseason they need to send Mayo to first base camp.
excellent comment. mullins is a joke, his defense tonight was a joke. bring up coby. I'd trade mountcastle and Urias for BP and or SP. Wall of Baltimore is in his head. Hasn't homered in a month.
Orioles have a long lineup and a short SP staff. Losing Bradish/Means left a canyon in this rotation. If Burnes/GRod have an off outing it could be a long stretch. Kremer/Suarez/Povich is not a strong back end. Need SP!!
Maybe an unpopular view, but get a couple of good pitchers and do their best this year. With all the talent coming up, I wouldn’t waste valuable capital to go all in this year. Play the 2025-2029 window. We will have to go for 2 free agent pitchers this offseason.
Mateo has worn out his welcome in my opinion. He is basically an automatic out at this point. He should be a pinch runner or defensive replacement at best. Let’s put Westburg at 2b and Mayo at 3b. Go O’s!!!
Man tough Cubs series. 2 runs!! 0 runs in last 23 innings. Something is wrong. They are not capitalizing with runners in scoring position. They need to bring in another pitcher as well. They need a spark from somewhere on offense. Maybe bring in Mayo or Holiday again but they need pitching
Bro, The Orioles are tying to show case players and please failing veterans. Mayo should be called up and starting and Heston should be starting. Also, Stowers is in the Minors with his 280+ average in the Majors.
It was predicted they would win 86 games this season. If they play .500 from here on they will have 95 wins. Unfortunately they aren’t playing .500 at this juncture so 88-91 wins is more believable. If they win the division they will just choke up another series loss after being off several days. They stink after day(s) off.
What good is it if you have everything in house but not giving these guys opportunities when you’re too faithful to your veterans who need to go, time to bring up all this so called talented prospects
The offense is always hot or cold, nothing in between. As for the question, i say no they have good bats in the minors. Hays, Urias, Mateo have to go. They need to trade for pitching. Gunnar is striking out way too much.
I don't think Hays needs to go. He's brought his average up almost a hundred points. I think Mullins, Mateo and Urias need to go, and Cowser needs to get sent down.
Mullins,Mountcastle, Hays, Urias, McCann, Mateo all need to go. Send Cowser to AAA, bring up Mayo and Norby. Let go of Akins, Tate, Irvin, Kremer, Baker, Vespi, send Povich back down, bring up McDermott
There's a difference between getting shut out and getting totally shut down while barely making the other pitcher work. Tonight was the latter, Steele could easily have had another complete game shut out throwing less than 90 pitches. This is the downside of the aggressive all slug/low OBP approach. When it doesn't work, it makes it too easy on the other team. I'm in favor of high OBP AND high slug approach when the count is in your favor. I'm never in favor of all or nothing approach in any sport. You have to be good all around, should be able to score some runs even when you're not hitting homers.
You’re saying “we have the bats in AAA like Mayo and Norby” and also saying “we need to make a move for a good P” well who do you think it’s gonna take to get that pitcher that could actually help us. THE BATS YOURE SAYING WE HAVE IN AAA. You think beavers or Stowers are going to bring us Skubal or Crochet? No. We’d have to give those bats up fellas. We do need a bat, most likely a rental. Not interested in control with that piece so it wouldn’t cost us as much to grab one. We need a front line starter, a BP piece. And a RH OF bat imo
I would not refuse a three player end upgrade, vet playoff tested Switch hitting stud bat, starter and reliever; have plenty of minor league talent we know nothing about, a first place ongoing season/ year we know a lot about; assets get used. get some future draft picks we will need as we get fewer top picks,,
"the offense isn't a concern for me" lmao. we got swept by texas last year. We don't have the ability to small ball with high OBP guys or can hit the other way
"lay it all out there" lol. You mean press harder? Yep doing the same thing over and over again is sane. This series is a wash? you mean at best we lose 2 of 3? or we get swept? Make that make sense mr wordsmith. draggin channel down fellas. do better

This is right on the money. I would also add a right hand hitting center fielder.
@@jamesreckling6697 I would be quite okay with Hays in CF platooning with either Mullins or Cowser and Kjerstad as the everyday LF.

I've been thinking we need another bat for some time. Get a bat, a back of the rotation starter, and hopefully 2 more pieces for the bullpen.
In these situations, we need pitching to fall back on. This will always happen.

Hell No! On Flaherty!!!
No, they don’t need to get another bat.
But their struggles with RISP is troubling.
O’s need pitching! Somehow they need to get in position to draft Hagen Smith LHP from Arkansas! I know it’s not a fix for now!
Just say’n 😎

I'm panicking over here

Agreed. Get rid of the bats that are not elite to open a path for the prospects.
They just got swept and shut out at home by a team that’s under 500. Bro they ridiculous. A bunch of talented kids with No guidance

Bring up Mayo and Norby!
The NL central has beat down the Orioles this season

So hard to watch
Cowser needs to hit like he did in April and nobody slumping... yeah that's 🔥
too many holes in his swing. Cannot hit an off-speed pitch.
@@jeffreyjurney2013Cowser hasnt done anything since late April, early May
They don’t need bats. Lacking experience and they never show any muscle. Pitching is horrible and a terrible coach. This team will never win anything
"the offense isn't a concern for me" lmao. we got swept by texas last year. We don't have the ability to small ball with high OBP guys or can hit the other way
Rip is WRONG. We need to trade for a BIG bat somewhere. Yes utilize our in house talent HOWEVER we NEED a veteran heavy hitter NOW.
