Mini Broncho-alveolar lavage (Mini-BAL) sample collection is a method for collecting samples of the lower respiratory tract.
The telescopic technique prevents contamination of samples by colonizers of the endotracheal tube.

but why you need 14 Fr suction catheter you can simply just insert 10 Fr directly to get the secretion ?

Thanks for noticing... with a single catheter, there is a strong possibility of getting colonizers sticking to the inner sude of the ET tube...with 10 F inside the 14F, we can bypass the ET tube colonizers

Where did they flush saline ?

Thanks for noticing...for MiniBAL one needs respiratory protection , there is no need of surgical gown, cap and mask with gloves will suffice.
