I am laughing with tears in my eyes.
Most people got the privilege of seeing Robin Williams and all of his spontaneous, timeless, perfected improv via Mork and Mindy.
As always, he brought a smile to my face when it was most needed.
RIP, Robin. You are sorely missed

I was born in 1996, but my mom bought seasons of shows that she watched growing upon DVD. I love shows from the 60s and 70s. I was particularly obsessed with Robin Williams when she bought them, so she got Seasons 1-3 of Mork and Mindy. I saw the 4th season online afterward. Now, I have tried introducing my close friends to the show.

Yea I was born in 1977 and could never get into Robin Williams humor. I just can’t find him funny at all and I don’t know why. I thought 90’s Jim Carrey was much funnier

@@bms77 I'm the complete opposite. But hey, different strokes for different folks, huh? We can each enjoy what we like and still respect people. Even with differences of opinion. Humor is subjective.

Their way of keeping in touch with the eighties.

Loved how they poked fun at it a couple of times in the writing. IIRC, Pam took a swing at it herself in My Sister Sam a few years later talking about the 'poodle perm' she had a few years before, being down to insecurities or something to that effect.

Something about the shape of her face with that perm reminds me of Meg Ryan in When Harry Met Sally

Me either. But the show ran 1978 to 1982 and I started college at the end of '77. But Robin came into my store around 1982 and he's a very nice man. Now I feel like I need to watch the whole series. Wow. I remember watching it in my parent's house, but we didn't have TV's in college. The whole dorms had to share one TV room

I hated the last season this is when it jump the shark should have never made them a couple

The first seasons ratings were strong then producers made some changes for season 2 including the disco version of the theme song, the ratings did decline but was renewed for a third season which ratings had dipped even lower and ABC was ready to pull the plug, however the late Garry Marshall insisted on a 4th season and that more changes would be made thus jumping the shark by having Mork & Mindy get married and Mork laying an egg which hatches given us Mearth: Mork And Mindy's son!! The season ended at 60th place which lead to it's cancellation!!👍

They were always a "couple", this was no Three's Company with them madly dating others, nor was it a will they won't they set up, it was a progressive romantic storyline. Hell Mindy hadn't visibly dated anyone since Season 1. They were so attached and affectionate they were virtually appendages of each other. No one was going to come between them, so leaving them in limbo (especially Mindy) would've been foolish and was never the plan. Marrying them in no way constituted the show jumping the shark.. The 'aging backwards' idea in S3, which ran contrary to everything discussed beforehand and the introduction of Mearth was the problem. Not that Jonathan Winters was bad (he was often brilliant)...it was the character got in the way, became pretty much the center of their and the shows attention, limiting what they could do, and messed up the format. It didn't allow for what we should've seen, that is more time around their jobs and engagement, more extensive problems in the run up the wedding itself from both Orkan and Earth sides, (hell the blood tests at the time alone should've been a major issue!) then when resolved, Mork trying to juggle the continued demands of his job and marriage, and ultimately 'regular' impending fatherhood, with a pregnant Mindy. The latter something Marshall had tabled for the following season.
