undone was so profound and remarkable unlike anything iv ever seen. an emotional rollercoaster combined with an otherworldly twist perfect
at first when i started watching it, i thought "this is gonna be cliffhanger" and i was right. now i kinda regret that i watched it cuz i'm in huge curiousity about what's happen next

Alita was pretty boring. Undone is so much better. The animation is nothing like I've seen before.
@@MrWhangdoodles It was not that boring. It had cool cgi action and character performances. But you are right - No one watches an action flick for the story! Undone feels more psycothriller than fantasy and it grabs a totally new facette of scifi. Something that roots in shamanism not aliens or superhumans. Also manipulation of genes. Shamanism is still existent and alive today. Believe it or not, one of my favourite aurhors is graham hancock and he has also deeply invested in shamanism research.
It would be very interresting where they take the story further. Althought that Time Jumps have nothing to do with real shamanism. They are totally fictional. Shamans cannot time travel they can however allegedly talk to beings in annother realm called dreamworld. Some shamans even have allegedly managed to have a second life friends and families with the beings of that world. They take drugs and stay in that world for days while they allegedly experience a lifetime in the dreamworld. Mixing real shamanism with scifi certainly does not help real shamans. They might even be disgusted if they watch the show. By the way Undone is no animation. It's painted over the real footage!

Theater background? Holy shhhh - - no wonder she is such a great actress. As she mentioned before: she is "expressive" which is very true as most theatrical actors are the most expressive type of actors to that point that they tend to be over acting like Jim Carrey (although he is over the top).
I'm so happy for our Rosa, she truly deserves such a success for this show therefore it's just gonna get her more exposure (equals more success) and more and more people will she what a hidden gem Rosa Salazar truly is.

Agreed. Her facial expressions in Alita were mind-blowing. The amount of emotion I saw her project in that movie was unparalleled.
@@Wowreference My favourite expression from Alita is the predatory smile she gives just before saying "I like it" to Hugo about the Motorball. Rosa's so expressive that she can make something as simple as a smile mean a wide variety of different things. Aside from that savage grin, she can also do a happy smile, a sad smile, a genuine smile, a forced smile, a shy smile, a goofy smile, a confident smile, a tentative smile, a mocking smile, an amused smile and a batshit crazy smile. Although that last one isn't in the movie, I know she can do it simply because she can do every other kind of smile imaginable. I don't think I've ever seen anybody convey so many different emotions just by smiling and this is without taking all of Rosa's other expressions into account.
Full disclosure, I haven't seen much of Andy Serkis so I know him more by his reputation than anything else. However, judging by what I have seen, he tends to ham it up. I think that Rosa has already surpassed him because she knows how to be nuanced. Alita was the first time she ever did motion capture and she's also two decades younger than Andy but she still knocked it out of the park.
@@tomnorton4277 Yeah, I know what you mean. I learned that there are sixteen different smiles that the human face can make, although I don't remember what they are. Some real, some fake, some welcoming, some desperate, etc.
I think one thing that Rosa has mastered is not only being able to deliver a convincing smile, but also being able to choose precisely which type to convey. I have seen a few other actors reach that level as well, but it's rare.
Truly, she is among the most talented I have seen in film. Maybe Benedict Cumberbatch could be considered around her level in my opinion too, along with a select few others, but overall, hardly anyone could act as well as Rosa does.
@@Wowreference I've only seen two actresses under the age of 40 who rival Rosa Salazar. Those two are Jenna Coleman and Anna Passey. You may know Jenna from when she played Clara Oswald (who's easily my favourite character in Doctor Who) and Queen Victoria but I suspect you've never even heard of Anna. She's best known for playing Sienna Blake in Hollyoaks and is by far the greatest actress on that show, able to draw your eye to her even when she's just in the background. Granted, this could be partially because she's very attractive but that's not the only reason. She also has little gestures and movements that convey something relevant even when the camera isn't directly focussed on her. Frankly, I think she deserves better than Hollyoaks.
It's the little details that make a phenomenal actor or actress. Laurence Olivier understood this and that's how he became arguably the greatest actor of his generation, aside from maybe Marlon Brando. Jenna, Rosa and Anna all have superb attention to detail so even the smallest change in their expressions, body language and voices can convey a lot about the characters they're playing. Jenna can convey more emotion with her eyes than most actors and actresses can with their entire faces. I suspect Anna and Rosa can too but I can't think of any specific examples of Anna doing so and Rosa's eyes are often replaced with CGI. Anyway, in Deep Breath, they draw attention to Clara's eyes by focussing on them and when they do, she looks terrified. Another example is when Bonnie looks remorseful despite her facial expression barely changing (that one was so subtle that I didn't even notice it until I saw a still picture after watching Jenna's performance 3 times). When Clara's crying whilst saying goodbye to the Doctor in Hell Bent, the love in her eyes makes the tears look completely genuine. And my personal favourite example is the spark of madness in Clara's eyes just before the opening credits of Dark Water. While that last one is my personal favourite because I felt like I was seeing the deepest, darkest part of Clara's soul even before the volcano scene where her soul is laid bare for all to see, the most objectively impressive display of how expressive Jenna's eyes are is in Victoria because she wears contact lenses in that show. There's a moment where Victoria's proposing to Albert and she has a vulnerable, childlike look in her eyes which manages to come through the contact lenses. I don't think even Ralph Fiennes could pull that off since they decided not to let him wear contact lenses in Harry Potter, even though Voldemort's eyes were red in the books.
The show is so good i finished in a day. I want more
As Rosa Salazar says, the enormous richness of the expressiveness of her beautiful face in Alita Battle Angel is wonderful.

What a cool person. A grafter, I'd imagine. The dawn of the new movie star and Rosa Salazar is right in there. I hope she has many more roles in such magic stories such as Undone and Alita. It's been a very long time since I got that warm feeling after watching a movie or Series. I certainly got it with both Undone and Atila. What else have we in store?
Love her voice and her acting.
She is one of the few actresses in the industry who is captivatingly dizzying and comic in a GENUINE way. I really enjoy her perfomances in every role she plays, , but with "Undone" definitely explores nuances that make her deliver a complete experience.. And yep, she is stunning.

"Actors are crazy." Anthony Hopkins has said something similar. He described people in his profession as "damaged goods". I'm also pretty sure that he has OCD because of the way he described his process of learning his lines and Rosa is a self-admitted perfectionist, both of which are traits I relate to.

I think all of it was real. Alma's mother wasn't sure how Alma knew that she entered her father's lab that night - Alma saw it through a vision, and it turned out to be accurate, but she didn't know about it prior. She also had no way of knowing what happened to that cop's younger sister, and yet she did. I think she has powers, but I'm not sure.
Or she could've subconsciously seen (family desktop wallpaper) or heard (overheard her mom over the phone with her dad) those specific moments,, but I'd like to believe she really has the gift 👌🏻
@@dudesofculture2303 Yeah, those are factors to consider. I thought about her encounter with the cop and the mention of the wallpaper just moments later and felt like that was enough to say that she basically subconsciously gathered that information without realizing it, but one part that struck me was that the little sister's name wasn't on the wallpaper, nor was the mentioning of her fate, both of which Alma found out. Alma also may have subconsciously detected her mother's decision to go to the lab through the phone call that her father got when they were Trick-or-Treating, but while that's a possibility, I wouldn't want to lean in that direction without an intended implication. She may really just have schizophrenia, especially when considering the call, but the part about the death of that cop's sister seemed too spot on to be mere guess work.
@@Wowreference the name was not in focus, but "Sofia" was there on a photoframe at the bottom, check again! The showmakers deliberately played with our intuition and lack of attention to minute details in every situation where we'd want to confirm our belief that she does have powers while still not outright denying them!
