This password system is pretty smart. This was back when you could either carve stuff into stone, write it with a pencil, or wait for someone to get off the family computer whenever you wanted to get the password back. Having a simple 5x5 grid without characters (nobody would care about the letters since it's just signs that say "hey this is the top row!") kills the confusion of having similar characters (i, I, l, 1, |... s, z, Z, S, 5) and bad handwriting.

I’ve only ever seriously played through the 3ds port and I don’t know if it was a glitch with that port or I was just stupid but I couldn’t ever beat that room full of enemies you had to beat with crash bombs, I always had just barely too liittle ammo.

I most games, you can stop sliding on ice by jumping with out moving left or right since there is no where for the game to slide you. You could jump in the direction you want and before you hit the ground, stop moving.
