I mean, they say "minutes to LA" but it's often more than an hour. The fastest I've ever gotten to the valley was 32 minutes. But the return trip usually takes longer because of that wretched 405 / 170 / 101 connection, so you'll be sitting in tons and tons of traffic when you venture into LA. And venture to LA you must, because Santa Clarita has no culture. If Santa Clarita was a human, she would be a somewhat sedated white girl. Neither here nor there, just doing the "right thing." They also say that the weather is great, but that's a lie. Out of 4-5 months of the year, the temps are blazing. Like, you can barely be outside. Like Arizona basically. Santa Clarita is a boring ass, undiverse town where it's almost impossible to find cool small local business. It's mostly chains. Why? Because this is not a city of entrepreneurs. It's mundane and although it does provide safety, it's at the cost of vibrancy and fun. It's not a fun city. I think a lot of people get lured in by the low cost of living here, but then they really see it for what it is: Anytown USA, created by corporations to dominate the marketplace.
