    The titanium cone pipe at 2:12 is MAGNIFICIENT. I can't imagine how many templates, times it was TIG tack welded in an argon purge box, taken out and checked, recut, modified, retacked, building the jig that to contain warpage, and eventually fully welded in a purge box in a jig when you can't hardly see what you are welding, etc...I know what it takes to properly TIG weld titanium...that pipe took an ungodly amount of time to build properly and a huge headache. I'm a professional welder on jet aircraft blades, rotors, stators, in the thousands of an inch, etc.. (titanium, magnesium, inconel, Stellite and metals others wouldn't know, etc) and I'm STILL impressed with this. DAMN good work Suzuki. ARTISTS.

    Amazing that pipe started as titanium sheet, then cut and slip rolled into art.

    Thats the exact place i took my 2005 crf 250's engine too back in 06 ! such great customer service. And the engine to this day still runs amazing. I've never had it rebuilt or had one valve adjustment and it runs so good. and plenty of compression left.

    I used a PSI conic section pipe on my sons KX60, back in the late 1990's. But not in titanium..... And the swing arm was chrome moly and lighter than aluminum by some 2-3 pounds. That Mfg was/is a well know maker of mini racers. I've forgotten his name right now....You don't often see conic pipes,

    Does this pipe make the power go to the top end, middle or bottom end compared to standard pipe ??
    I like a strong bottom end pull so I am undecided because stock is very balanced ??

      read my post to alex below: same whiny post as his. Except he gave props to the pipe which he was right about. You are just crying. Absurd.

      jdh023 I see you don't restore and race vintage motorcycles for a living. (Jokes)
      Seriously though, vintage bikes are their own tight niche in the motocross scene. If there's word that a manufacturer is making a pipe for an old bike, it spreads like wildfire and the company makes bank. FMF Fatty for the 89-01 CR500, anybody?

      I don't have the aptitude, patience, knowledge or skill to mechanic but it's GREAT if you do and bring these beauties back to life. But that guys post was just begging for a stupid reply also. Boo Hoo the world won't cater to me is basically what he was saying. Another whiner in life when the world doesn't fit HIS needs. LOL. Stupid post from him, stupid reply from me.

      DirtRider500R You hit the nail on the head..."tight niche"..wink wink. Anyone with his bike model needing one or future replacement damn sure better jump on it while you can find it. That is for sure unless you can build your own. I can but wouldn't. Absurd amount of time and work involved.

      jdh023 I currently have about ten pages of paper covered in math and a handful of cone cutouts.... And that's the easy part of it!

    It annoys me when people say "for everything" when they dont make or sell anything pre 89 for most bikes. but anyway that is a sweet shop and that titanium pipe is beautiful

    • @jdh023
      @jdh023 9 років тому +1

      This annoys you? SERIOUSLY? So you take everything literally? You honestly expect ANY manufacturer to carry parts from the beginning of an invention or just your '89? I'm jealous of you. Your worries in life must be tiny unlike paying a mortgage, bills, raising a family, job, etc...if this speed bump in life is concerning to you when google is right here quicker than you wrote that to find parts. Come on dude...get real.

    It's too bad the titanium pipes never got to market. Titanium is about as strong as steel, so PC must have used thinner material. They should try using 18 gauge and use an eline composite guard.
