I was there with the 101st, 158th aviation battalion, company C and B. I was a crew chief on a Huey. I recognized some of the places in this film. We first flew to Gent Belgium and stayed there a few days. Then flew the helicopters to Kitzigen Germany and that was our base camp for the duration. Was there for 2 1/2 months. A bunch of us stayed for the clean up crew after everyone else left, and got a lot of time off so I went to the Oktober fest. Those were the days when you could walk into any beer tent and just sit down and start drinking. Not anymore. Great times and great memories. Anyone else in my battalion? Please respond.
I was there as well. Bravo company 2/502 nd infantry. First Brigade of the 101. An 11b infantryman. Drank alot of beer in the big beer tent near our tent city. We had a big brawl in the tent one night. An all girl band played music .
@@roynoccorina5022 Hey Roy, were you at Kitzingen? Im guessing Kitzingen was for the aviation guys only? I bet you were somewhere else. I don't remember a beer tent but I don't remember that much about it anyway. We would go into Kitzingen and party at one of the guest houses, tear the place up and then go home. Working with the helicopters, we would land in farmers fields and they would come out with food and beer. One of them gave me a case of beer and I hid it on the helicopter but got caught anyway. Luckily I didn't get into trouble. The pilot said to give him half, get it off the helicopter and we will call it a day. Not too shabby. Went to Grafenwohr and worked there for about a week flying the range. Got to shoot my M60 from the helicopter every day on the range. That was pretty cool. Its nice when nobody is shooting back. Yep, had a lot of fun there. What did you do there? A fight in the beer tent? Infantry guys would never do that. lol Thanks, Nick
