america10estrada he’s opinions can’t be diluted on a podcast. It would take away his mystique. He can’t take his career anywhere and his opinions are worth more than a podcast.
Y'all can't tell me not to be pressed. Because I was the one that brought him the Target giftcard to the Meet & Greet. Super happy to still be getting a shoutout. Will be a VS fan till the day I die. Can't wait for Big Fish Theory.
he had to start talking fast in school so he didn’t have to fight anymore “i used to have a stuttering problem in school so I taught myself to talk fast so i wouldn’t have to fight anymore.”-joe budden interview
Its been 4 years since this came out but I can still listen to Vince like its the first time. The dude is not only hilarious but totally grounded...I love his outlook on life.
ordellrobbie_ I mean, I actually agree. I think quantity only matters if they're amazing records. Like I won't argue Snoop verse Kdot because his 3 albums are arguably much greater than any full record Snoop has put out. Quantity definitely does not outweigh quality.
ready to die wasn't even that good, biggie is so overrated. the beef with 2pac is the only thing that makes him memorable nowadays. people sleep on dmx and nas when they both put out better debut projects than biggie.
If anyone sees this in November 2019... he made that barber shop fight skit a reality in his new episode of his UA-cam show. Thought that was dope. Over 2 years later
solomon k Joey dropped the best album of 2017 and one of the best from 2015... He's only getting better. You say he's going backwards because he's not rappin on boom bap beats?
MazEnigma Gotta respect our radio station. Vince probs grew up on Power 106 and has a dopeass friendship with Cruz and Krystal and probs most of the station. So bruh, we have mad inside jokes in LA, it helps being from the same place cause we can relate to most of what Vince and Cruz talk about too. It also helps cause the questions don't sound forced either.
"I am very black and I am very Urban, because those are two different things you get what I'm sayin'.." "We have to separate commerce and art when we're talking about music" FINALLY someone gets it!
Kanye is the better overall artist and Kendrick the best rapper. But in terms of just technical rapping ability, Black Thought, the leader of the Roots is the most talented rapper alive.
2017: 8:25 "you don't know how many people get jumped in a barbershop" 2019: "So What?" - Episode 1, Vince gets jumped in a barbershop. Damn Vince, you ain't playin...
Vince Staples is always ahead of his time lol , this interview feels like it could've been yesterday. minus the timing of payless closing lol i remember that
Most interesting interview ever. instead of being a guest he makes it seems as if he was one of the cast members.More of a conversation then interview .❤️
I ain't even gon lie, I'm 31 now I grew up on power an kjlh(my mom rip), but since big big left it hasn't been the same. Well all I'm saying is I subscribed, great interview, real genuine
Best rappers ALIVE? 1) Andre 3000, dead or alive, he'll always be #1 to me. Best reasons are: he's versatile, lyricism, experimenting with sounds, influential. Still looking forward do a solo album mannnnn 2) MF Doom, probably the best rapper-producer ever, the definition of being original with lyricism and rhyming styles. His rhyming schemes are always out of this world 3) Kanye, has a variety of sound in his discography, yet almost all his albums are considered classics. 2nd on my list for rapper-producer 4) Kendrick, only 5 total projects including UU and all are considered critically acclaimed. Arguably made the best album for the decade. Lyricism is always captivating or thought provoking. 5) idk, I can't really think of any rappers off the top of my head that has the same impact or influence in the hip hop scene as much as these four
Ruse FBomb Uhm, are you serious right now? Jay Z and Nas have easily had just as much impact as anyone on this list (and are just as skilled lyricists). There's no way anyone actually believes Kendrick Lamar (who's in my top five to be clear) has had more influence than them, or the many other rappers who have spearheaded the culture/regional sounds or have been around for longer and had the opportunity to influence the culture more, from the dawn of Hip Hop up until now.
Gone Yesterday I didn't say kendrick has influenced a wide range of rappers. I just said his body of work is consistent and they're all uniquely amazing albums. I'm just saying right now, making music, who's still making good ass music. I'm looking forward to Nas's album to see if he still has it. But I'm just saying, Jay-Z makes pretty shitty music nowadays. Even in Frank Ocean's new song he was underwhelming. Lyrics were nice, but his delivery was disgusting. You can definitely put either one up there, but when it comes to making good music still, I wouldn't put them in the same list. For example, Andre 3k doesn't have a single song out but he's always mind blowing in his features.
Nas. No artist has had a better rap album than Illmatic. And this album was also incredibly influencial to hip hop. Nas is also one of the best lyricists in history, he is top 3 with DOOM and Andre.
so glad they gave the video this title, because It drew me In, and I got way more Insight on v other things than I thought was coming. Vince Staples Is always a good Interview Imo.

Vince: Let's get right to it, hot cheetos are $1.69. I'm starting a civil suit. This is gentrification.

As funny as Vince is, I really like how much he advocates for the advancement of youth, education, and exploring talent that they might already have.
every vince staples interview is a gem. tyler too
Its been 4 years since this came out but I can still listen to Vince like its the first time. The dude is not only hilarious but totally grounded...I love his outlook on life.
Saw him at Coachella and now I’m in love. Love his sound and his interviews are always interesting.
He got a fair point... Biggie don't got enough work. We really gonna call somebody best all time with 2 albums?
Kinda ludicrous.
Tevin Green mhm ive told myself the same thing when comparing big to pac pac has more albums
Devin Fuller That's fair, but then it's really an accessibility issue. How do I get my hands on his early work?
David Lopez Right. I'm a biggie guy. But it's hard with just the two. Great as they may be. 1 and a half anyway.
ordellrobbie_ I mean, I actually agree. I think quantity only matters if they're amazing records. Like I won't argue Snoop verse Kdot because his 3 albums are arguably much greater than any full record Snoop has put out. Quantity definitely does not outweigh quality.
