      Nahh bruh he'd be underutilised on the media.. Im now convinced his mind is even wasted on music coz let's be honest ignorance is currently kicking the shit outta consciousness musically and beyond.. dude needs to go into politics he could seriously make some changes. his mindset is thorough and unrelenting.. The boy has serene insight and it was spawned out of the worst type of ignorance now thats a real one

      One thing I wanna comment about though is how he was trying to say Rap was more diverse and creative back then. I'm arguing it's even more diverse and creative now. We got Kendrick, over there, J.Cole over there, Chance over there, Joey over there Pusha over there, Travis Scott over there, Freddie Gibbs over there, Schoolboy Q over there, Jay Rock over there, Ab-Soul over there, El-P, Killer Mike, Mick Jenkins, Kemba, J.I.D., King Mez, Towkio, Vince himself ect. ect. Not to mention the ogs he was mentioning still putting out music, Ye, Jay, Lupe, Nas. C'mon bro, Rap is strong as ever artistically, but people wanna be cynical and not give it its proper credit.

    • @LowercaseKev
      @LowercaseKev 7 років тому +3

      kashstory I feel he was right in hi diverity assessment from back in the 80s and 90s/early 00 ....mainly because when you break the music down its much more similarity in the newer rappers today. for instance you got Lil Uzi and Madeintyo making similar style music then a gang of dudes sounding the same in trap music, Yacthy and 50Tyson style rappers.... so what I'm saying is the styles are more densly packed with 30-40 guys doing the same sound. the percentage of rappers thagsound the same is skyrocketing because they just riding the wave and it's causing the rap and hip-hop scene to suffer. mainstream music particularly ....you got to go underground mostly to find diversity. now the poster boy for my thoughts on this is Tory Lanez. dude doesn't even have his own sound but puts out songs that sound like everybody else's stuff....😂😂😂 so now instead of everybody doing what they want to do most rappers fall into big pockets of similarity moreso than diversity. wedo still have standouts like a Vince Staples or Flatbush zombie or J Cole or Kendrick Lamar or ab-soul or cannibal Ox, but for the most part (75% I'd say)are just regurgitation of other people because the artists are afraid to be themselves, worry bout the money, and what's gone pop like XYZ over here did. so they just end up grabbing this guy's lane and putting out content like that instead of what they really want to do. it's partly on the major labels and partly on the artist that they do that but that's what they told they got to do these days to sell a record n make money. major labels won't put out your music if you can't keep a hot song. so the new artists bandwagon rap styles so they keep getting money....when they don't need to really at all

    • @nowworld7420
      @nowworld7420 7 років тому +4

      youre right , in the era that he said in the early 80s it DEFINITELY sint more creative but from like late 80 to like 2001 HIP HOP was the most creative. Now we struggle to even call what we are listening to hip hop.

      I think it's a little more than common sense bro, most people don't naturally graft together individual pieces of loosely related information to form a functional model of reality. This man not only identifies shortcomings in the current state of things, but addresses their philosophical underpinnings and knows when to provide plausible solutions and when to acknowledge his own lack of answers. He does all this without trying, I think he does it without even really knowing he's doing it. The young brother is gifted

    That shit he said about coming from nothing and wanting only the very basics to have a happy life hit me so hard, nearly made me tear up. It's so true. This is the reality my peers from low income places are facing. We never had anything, we lived in an apartment, with a mom who worked two jobs just to keep food on the table... Now I just want a nice home in a nice neighborhood for me and my girl where we can raise a family, man. But other people question you for being unambitious and simple, but they don't understand that to people like us, simple is the most we could've ever hoped for. We never had that shit, we always struggled.

    Vince Staples was really out here banging, I'm glad he changed you can tell by his demeanor. Look up Larry Hoover, T Rodgers, Monster, and a bunch of old school gang leaders. Vince has the same demeanor at 23, this kid is a legend. Really guys, search those gang leaders up. Vince has that same exact charisma/wisdom
