Thank you, Grandpa, As a retiree which I am, it has come to my understanding that the investment you choose isn't right or wrong, just depends on the kind of business person you are or simply the kind of person you are. However, the end game is investing money long-term creates wealth every time. Just pick what you like and understand, invest and it will pay off. A lifetime of investing for 5 mil is not hard to accrue.
As an elder millennial, one of the few advantages is having lived through the Great Recession and Economy Crisis. My advice. Reduce unnecessary expenses, increase your savings by investing in financial markets, and do not sell. One thing I know for sure is that diversifying your income can help insulate you from much of the craziness going on in the world.
That's true...I'm thinking of investing in stocks or digital assets to grow my money for the first time, but I lack the in-depth knowledge and mental toughness to deal with these recurring market conditions. please any advice or pointers on how to outperform the market producing good returns
You're absolutely right! It just takes a good mindset and nerves of steel. I was deeply invested in 2020 with the economy crisis being bad, divorce and me with no job, so I had to work my savings in a well-diversified portfolio of stocks and digital assets that grew 4x with capitalization, venturing is not necessarily just about funds but also to be well informed. It's a long term plan for me so I invest and reinvest.
Exactly why i enjoy my day to day market decisions being guided by a portfolio-coach, seeing that their entire skillset is built around going long and short at the same time both employing risk for its asymmetrical upside and laying off risk as a hedge against the inevitable downward turns, coupled with the exclusive information/ analvsis they have, it's near impossible to not outperform, been using a portfolio-coach for over 2years+ and I've netted over 400k
Mind sharing info on the adviser who assisted you? been saving for pension since age 21 - company scheme. along the way I hit higher tax, so I added to my company pension with a SIPP (tax benefits) I'm 50 now and would love to grow my finance more aggressively, there are a few cars I still wish to drive, a few mega holidays, etc.
I have come to the realization that I will not allow external things to affect my life. Life is too short! I am in the Philippines and will stay here the rest of my life.
We recently retired to Batangas. Life is good here. We found an excellent primary care doctor who had previously practiced in both Arizona and Buffalo. $9.00 a visit. Patience is key here. Always have a Plan B and probably a Plan C.
Magandag Umaga Po! My first time visiting Cebu in 2015. I saw the news at Bohol, a certain religious group killed a lot of police officers at that island. Also, not so long ago, at Marawi, Ph. It is a religious war and is already at USA. Due to the Political Correct system, politicians don’t call it, how it is. I do have a friend living at Israel. He tells me the real facts from Jerusalem. My best wishes on your endeavors Po. Mahal Ko Pilipinas always. Mabuhay
If you are enjoying your retirement in the USA, then there is no need to move to the Philippines, you can just visit on an extended vacation. You already have property to stay at for long term. I agree that health issues are a concern as we age and make traveling more difficult, especially long flights. China is really being a problem now, and I worry about misguided Muslims here in the Philippines who are already holding rallies in favor of Palestine aka Hamas because they are ignorant of the history. However, don't stress over what might happen. So maybe it should be less about Philippine retirement and more about extended stay in the Philippine islands.
Good content Grandpa plans do change when we get older , I already changed my mind and decided to stay here close to my kids. I will go vacationing a couple of months a year and explore the place while I'm still able and eventually sell my properties down there.
I also thought about buying a condo in the phils but spending $200k for a 35sqm condo? I can buy with that amount a 100sqm condo here in las vegas! so it doesn't financial sense to me...
You know what’s best for you. Pray about it so God will show you the best decision. People can and will give their opinion. God ALWAYS gives the best answer, (Psalm 32:8). Take care…🙏🙏🙏♥️💕☕️
Thank you for clarifying in my mind that the attack was the result of a religious war. Before, I was alarmed at all the people who did not condemn the actions of Hamas. I use the lack of condemnation as a litmus test to indicate what side of the fence someone is on. You helped to illuminate exactly what the fence is dividing.
I agree with you Sir and all your thoughts and opinions about the situation is valid, I myself is planning to retire in the Philippines and get dual citizenship so I can relate to what you are feeling right now .
Life doesn't come with any written guarantees ! -- Doing the best we can to minimise risk - seemingly is all we can do ? -- After that - there is 'desire' that comes into play and enters the decision making process to some extent ?!? -- Determination too may also play a huge part in the process ? -- What we would be the happiest in doing - or perhaps - unhappy if we didn't try a particular 'direction' as opposed to another ? 🤔
I think you're being very pragmatic about taking these things into consideration, your own safety is a valid concern whether traveling or relocating over seas. There's a good argument for staying on US soil, but even home turf can have its own problems (what country doesn't?). Personal safety, access to health resources, social scene, and general quality of life should be the foundation of where you choose to be in retirement. There's some countries out there which are very neutral in the geopolitical arena....they really don't take a position on certain issues involving other nations because it serves no benefit to them. Something to think about as part of your decision making process when figuring out where to go or settle down. Cheers.
You said you bought the condo in 2016 and it was different back then. I disagree, the issue with China was already escalated at that point so the analysis of buying a property for retirement and investment in the Philippines was not justified then and now. I’m a disappointed for everyone because you seem to do a fairly good analysis and provide a solid argument to some topics but I never agreed with you on procuring a real estate property in the Phils. I started watching you because of your stance about retiring early in order to enjoy what’s left of your life. Best wishes to you and your return to the US.
Actually, in 2016 the issue was different. There were a lot of noise re Duterte. But I knew that will go away when he is gone. In fact, Duterte was pro-Chinese. The issue with China was more political and that did not concern me. Today, China is starting to get physical by threatening war and actually blocking Philippines from from its own economic zone. Quite different situation then vs now.
@@vloggergrandpa2707as early as 2012 China has been building barricades in the Scarborough shoal and it is one of the reasons why the Philippines went to file a case against China with the arbitral tribunal which eventually we won in around mid 2016. It started with aggression and was being controlled through diplomacy and political means. There have been instances also of local Phil fishermen harassed by the Chinese militia. Duterte was playing a psych warfare by trying to befriend China but blew up in his face later on in his presidency.
True, as we get older, our plans can change especially the world is getting crazier and there is too much hate. I was planning to go to the Holy Land but postpone it again. I pray for peace between countries. Too many innocent lives were lost. I wish you good health Grandpa and enjoy your retirement years.
I went to Israel and went to the North. A beautiful place and memorable trip. I enjoyed it a lot because I know the history behind it due to my being a catholic. We were thinking of going back and travel to the South this time. I guess that will just be a dream now. 😠
I’m with you on this matter but we already decided to go to the Phil. To retire and also got rid off everything so we just have to see once🧐this is the matter to consider🧐thank you👍
Thank you Lolo as usual. Can you talk about what airlines you use to go to the Philippines. How you purchase the tickets. I used ASAP right before COVID. My father died and even though I had insurance they would not refund my tickets. Mabuhay
Grandpa has no financial issues. He has a house in the USA and a condo in the Philippines. Even his health concerns are not a big deal Because surely he still maintains his medical coverage in the states. Plus he is also covered by philheath by being a senior in the philippines. Grandpa is financially secure anywhere he chooses to stay and live.
Phil health provides a 20% discount if that is enough for you then go for it. As a senior he also is entitled to the senior discount. From experience some medical facilities ask you to choose one or the other not both.
My idea of the ideal retirement is near Tagaytay and the cooler more comfortable weather with cheaper prices beautiful scenery and even drier less humid air I hear. -- Google says - "a couple can retire comfortably in Tagaytay for $1000 a month" ! --?-- Not sure how old that is ? -- I'm alone and hoping to make my $1500 SS budget work for just myself ? Perhaps it's possible to be frugal enough to make that work in 2024 ? Locals live for much less in many areas but I'm not at all sure about Tagaytay '''area''' yet ? - - - What say you Grandpa ??? - - - I don't need ''a view to die for'' or anything elaborate - just a comfortable frugal studio near there will do. --?--
Hi. You can live in Tagaytay or in nearby towns for $1500/ month as long as you live a simple lifestyle. There's a BI office at a Robinson's mall near Tagaytay, so visa extensions will be easy if you live in the vicinity. Make sure you have health insurance (or can afford to self insure). Private hospitals won't treat you unless you pay first (no payment, no treatment).
Hello po grandpa, ano po ba latest update upon arrival sa Pilipinas? Need pa po bang magdala ng negative result ? I'm planning to go home mid December 2023 po
All I know I am a US citizen now and living in the US. Something I do not want to just throw away. With all the threats of potential wars (except the ongoing ones), I feel that I am in one of the strongest countries for defense. ✌️ Edit: We have the same thoughts in this GrandPa. But I can't also dispel the fact that US is most likely target of terrorists too. Plus the Medicare. Philippines is nice for vacation.
Don’t get worried just keep praying hard because no matter what we think it won’t help because we are not in the position to solve it, all I knew leave it to God and He will not leave the people of Gaza and Israel to dismantle🙏anything is possible to Him so have faith and put Jesus in your heart that He is the only Savior🙏
Great topic Grandpa! The world is at war. China has no interest in the Philippines except perhaps the south china sea. The Philippines is safe.I know we have problems in the south with our muslim brother. I don't think we will have another Marawi incident. Not in the near future. 2024 will be a very critical year for us but let just pray good will prevail.
Your entry was a month ago. Today is Dec. 4, 2023. There was a news of bombing a church in Marawi claimed by the Islamic State a couple of days ago that killed 4 people and injured several others.
I used to travel out of the country every 2 to 3 months but I quit when Covid came, then this unsettling issues on the war between Russia and Ukraine, now Israel and Hamas, and Azerbaijan killing Armenias. Mosab Hassan Yousef’s testimony of his conversion is a very powerful witness of what the Holy Spirit can do when we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.
Grandpa if we plan to retire in the PI what will be our health insurance. Do we have to purchase one. Any idea how much they cost? My husband had a massive stroke and he is bed bound and in wheelchair. Wanted to go home now because caregiving is cheap but how about health insurance? Grand pa need your comment please po. My husband is 69 and I s as m 65.
You will have to do your own research on this complex area as it depends on your plans and where you reside. If you plan to live in the Philippines, look for a plan I'm the Philippines. If you plan to live partly in the Philippines and US, look for Advantage Plan (Medicare Part C) with worldwide coverage.
There’s no safe place anywhere in the world Only under the wings of the Almighty God through Jesus Christ is where Real Safety is. Proverbs 3:4-5 Trust in the Lord will all of your heart lean not on your own understanding but acknowledge Him in all your ways and He will direct your path
Ok, well, you brought it up: Religion. The Septuagint, which is the Original Greek translation of the Hebrew Old Testament, was completed around 200 bce. In Isaiah 54:3 The Lord commands the Hebrews to Share the land with the Gentiles. However, when I look at the KJV, it is conveniently omitted. 🤔
Like you, we are an older couple (even older than you). We've considered retirement in the PH, but its just too complicated at our age (red tape on both sides, health care, banking, etc). We've been hoping for two or three months there early in 2024, but, as you mentioned, current events complicate even this. Like you i also believe China will escalate its aggressive policies if/when world events escalate. Once America is fighting on two or even three fronts, they are not so likely to want to tackle China. Then, there goes Taiwan and maybe even the Philippines.
Hello po. I am filipino but turned us citizen and we have property in the Philippines that we are planning to sell. My sister lives there and I want to give her power of Attorney. How is it done? Thank you.
With regard to the US border wall, we have many crossing through the border with minimal issues. if we continue to allow illegal who are asylum seekers to run free in the US while waiting for court hearings we do not know if some of them are terrorists, etc. The border wall needs to be secured anyone can smuggle drugs and pieces of destructive weapons and assemble them in the US. Build that wall help reduce or slow down the illegal crossing and keep asylum seekers (hoping 100% are asylum seekers) on the other side until their court hearing. If they do not appear at the court hearing which means what? Asylum seekers are afraid will not be approved or they are terrorists. I came to this country legally and the correct process of becoming a US citizen.
You're a very objective person but don't encourage insecurity and paranoia out there being a human being is really being a peace loving person and has no relationship with entitlements , material things ,were just passing by in these world nobody wants to live on your terms
I’m SORRY but I DISAGREE with most of these statements. If your one of those people worried about leaving the U.S. because you won’t have good accessibility to things like medication or medical care, then you don’t need to come to the Philippines. Best day of my life was when I threw those medications down the toilet and stopped taking meds. As far as religious wars, it’s been going on all over the world for years, nothing new. Think people at an old age is just looking for an EXCUSE and it’s ok. People got to do what is best for them and what ever makes them happy. Stop being scared all your lives and enjoy what time you have left on this EARTH. I’m sorry but I have to disagree living in the U.S. people are not the same and the cost of living is ridicules high and over rated. I might be a proudAmerican but I am also a SMART American who spent most his life in ASIA. You don’t have to like other Countries Government in order to like the people. I don’t care if a person is Chinese, Korean, Japanese, or what nationality because I LOVE ❤️ all people and not going to let other peoples Opinions have an affect on my thinking. When it comes to religion so many are hypocrites and only follow whats good for them. Got to be honest with yourself and others. There are no other people in the world 🌎 that I would feel as comfortable being around as I do now. When it comes to safety it’s more safe in the Philippines than most other places in the world by far. As far as me and my opinion, I’m sticking with the Philippines 🇵🇭 and have not ever been more happier in my life than I am now Wish everyone the very best. God bless PS. The real question is are you honestly happy with your life and situation? If so then stay put, if not move on. But no matter your choice, there will always be PROs and CONS. Have to learn to accept and adapt to your environment and only then will you truly be happy.
I'm very happy where I am. I just want to explore the Philippines and learn what I missed. You're right, no matter where you go there are pros and cons. You just have to weight what works for you.
VG, is whatever you feel comfortable with. I hate the corruption against the amazing people of the PI by the governmental goons, but regardless the country and its people are amazing
Age has alot to do with the discussion. I watch my older friends and somewhere around seventy years old most start feeling the need to be around a Medicare provider.
grand pa dont you worry about things , god orchestrate everything if you trust him everything is fine, if you die you will die. Bottom line enjoy the moment in your life, why worry always will die anyway
Here in the US i see my dopctor every 3 months and so he monitors my medical concerns….i get my imaging when i need it….have my medicines regularly without worrying about the cost…in the Phil all these cost thousands and thousrand…
It is a known fact, that ranking currently for medical tourism is as follow. 1. Malaysia 2. France 3. Thailand When you are young, you can live everywhere you want.. vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Philippines, indonesia. But when you get sick badly then how? Fly back to usa? Fly to Singapore?Fly back to Europe? Fly back to UK? Fly back to Canada.?
Stay here…I’ll buy your condo at a discount. Worrying too much eats at you faster. I rather be in the Philippines. Of all people, you should have seen how America is so different than compared to 10 years or more ago. There’s too much LAWLESSNESS! It’s gonna get UGLY, by the beginning of next year.
I have a Filipino friend that retired in the Philippines. His health got better in the Phils. He said fresh veggies and sweating was a good thing. 😊

@user-ex2zr1my8e merry Christmas to you as well.
There’s no safe place anywhere in the world Only under the wings of the Almighty God through Jesus Christ is where Real Safety is. Proverbs 3:4-5 Trust in the Lord will all of your heart lean not on your own understanding but acknowledge Him in all your ways and He will direct your path
Amen!
We can’t go anywhere Philippines is also in danger to china🥲🥲🥲
Ayaw mo lang
Please advise me on how to transfer my retirement check from American bank to Philippine bank?
Go to the US Embassy and ask Social Security Administration to transfer payments.
Hello po. I am filipino but turned us citizen and we have property in the Philippines that we are planning to sell. My sister lives there and I want to give her power of Attorney. How is it done? Thank you.
Have a lawyer in the Philippines prepare that for you to make sure that all Philippine requirements are met.
How old are you now grandpa?
Probably 67+7=74
74
I'm 98 years old.
You're a very objective person but don't encourage insecurity and paranoia out there being a human being is really being a peace loving person and has no relationship with entitlements , material things ,were just passing by in these world nobody wants to live on your terms
Grandpa is just stating his opinion. Who said you have to follow him?
I don’t care if a person is Chinese, Korean, Japanese, or what
nationality because I LOVE ❤️ all people and not going to let other peoples Opinions have an affect on my thinking. God bless
PS.
If a person is young he/she doesn’t think about getting sick, having an accident, or even dying.
grand pa dont you worry about things , god orchestrate everything if you trust him everything is fine, if you die you will die. Bottom line enjoy the moment in your life, why worry always will die anyway
That is one thing i can’t live in the Phil anymore….my medical concerns……
Here in the US i see my dopctor every 3 months and so he monitors my medical concerns….i get my imaging when i need it….have my medicines regularly without worrying about the cost…in the Phil all these cost thousands and thousrand…
Same here!
If you’re old and have a medical condition Philippine retirement is not for you.
@@fin-tasticlife6577If you have money then Healthcare is not an issue. The lady above obviously is low income
It is a known fact, that ranking currently for medical tourism is as follow.
1. Malaysia
2. France
3. Thailand
When you are young, you can live everywhere you want.. vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Philippines, indonesia. But when you get sick badly then how? Fly back to usa? Fly to Singapore?Fly back to Europe? Fly back to UK? Fly back to Canada.?
As a buddhist myself, i believe the 2nd coming of christ is coming
Jesus is coming back indeed. I’m waiting for Him.
Really? Fox news is your source of reference!
What is yours, CNN?
Fox does not have Party approved Correct Speech and Allowed Thinking, we must not listen.
And so? To each his own.
Fox News equals to poor credibility.
We need Trump back 😊
Ok, you can have it for P30 million!

Would you rather watch CNN???
Fox News, NO WAY.
