I must say your husband is so good at planting. He is so careful, it shows how much he cares about the plants.
Yes... he does complain about it, but secretly, he is very proud of the gardens
Good morning. Lots of beautiful plants got to ground. Love ur garden. Ur planting design is so nice. I got one of those auger planter with different sizes…. At the end of the day , I prefer my shovel. My soil is the same as ur’s( NJ ) in fact I hurt my wrist by drilling into a rock. Ur husband is such a good helper. Love ur garden. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks 😊! Yes, as I said it's not a miracle worker for us in the Mid-Atlantic/Northeast 😒
Congratulations on your gorgeous gardens! I love your channel. We’re in Massachusetts (Cape Cod) so that auger won’t work for our rocky soil. I grew up in Philly so I immediately recognized your accent. Made me a bit homesick!
Oh, thanks so much!! Yes, the auger is only partly helpful; my husband gets truly irritated when he sees certain other channels using it so easily and I don't blame him!!! I spent time on the Cape as a kid; we had family in Plymouth for a time and one summer my parents sent us to summer camp in Sandwich, heaven!!!!
I haven't invested in one of those drill bits yet. Massachusetts is rocky also. I wondered if it would actually save me anytime. i am going to say, after watching your video, it won't help much. But like you said, maybe on small cans with a smaller auger flange you would have better success. Everything looks beautiful :)
Yes, verdict is still out; not sure it's stopping correctly when it hits stones that's why you see my husband struggling with it. He's going to contact them. Thanks for watching!!
I got an auger bit from my mother in law when she moved. I tried to use it to plant bulbs last year and was only able to get an inch down due to rocks.
Wow, you must have it worse than us...ugh!
