How long have you been working on your LIS fanfic? Five years? And no, this isn't a dig at you, incase you misinterpret what I'm saying. I'm genuinely curious.
@totalgamerjunkie5359 7 years believe it or not. Between COVID and my loss of motivation to write for LIS is pretty much what kept me from finishing it sooner. The release of Double Exposure is what increased my motivation to complete it. Right now, I'm halfway through the final episode and so close to the finish line!
Really well written! The scene where they kiss brought a tear to my eye. ☺ My only criticism is that the music is a bit too loud. Off to watch a Belgian film. 😁
I do like the follow-up story, but to me the powers seem a bit misplaced. Don't get me wrong, i do like the idea, but 1) does she not already somewhat have that power but only for big(ger) events? 2) i'm not sure this would have fun implications gameplay wise. I personally think the powers should be more like getting memories from a person within a certain time or place something like that. But this still feels a bit too close to rewinding or just interacting with time in general, at least for me.
Agreed. Which is why it's better for her not to have powers. But i figure if she has powers, these ones will make the most sense. Since she's looking into the future, she's not causing chaos theory, as she's changing the present, not the past.
After looking up both of the films Koch mentioned and spoiling myself, I'm terrified of a sequel now. Double Exposure was bad enough. I think I'll just have to accept that I'll never be satisfied when it comes to this franchise. 😔
I honestly believe Koch could of pulled this off. And his idea for a sequel was Max and Chloe working through their trauma. So I think them either going their separate ways, or staying together, would be based on the players choices.
@@totalgamerjunkie5359 That would make sense and I've thought about that scenario before. It kind of reminds me of Love is Strange and how the player's decisions determine a romance or not. It would be nice to have endings like Life is Strange 2, and how they could all depend on how the player shaped their relationship throughout their playthrough. Or maybe they could go their separate ways and reunite later. I've read a fanfiction like that. It's an alternate universe where Chloe leaves Arcadia Bay instead of Max and Max ends up marrying Warren, only for Max to realize that she's still in love with Chloe when she returns to Arcadia Bay. 😅It's a sad story so far that has Max and Chloe dealing with trauma like the actual game. I don't think it's finished yet so I've just been waiting. LOL I don't expect Chloe and Max to have a perfect relationship. It makes sense for it to be difficult and angsty for them, and I think it would make a great story. I'm just worried because I haven't been all that impressed with many of the Life is Strange games after Before the Storm when it first came out. Or The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit if you consider that an LiS game. Double Exposure only having one ending doesn't help my skepticism either. Although I guess that's more of a D9 issues than a DN one. I also worry because of how sapphic relationships are typically treated in media: almost always tragic with some exceptions. I am fine with a sad or bad outcome, as long as we have the chance to have a more positive one too. And sorry that this comment was so long, I just have a lot of thoughts. 😅
