You never fail to pair the best mouthpiece with a saxophone, then choose to perform a song that showcases the setup. You are an excellent saxophone player as well.
Hi Mike, is this your favorite synthetic reed? I havent tried plasticovers but everything else I've tried sounds like loose plastic banging around inside of an old car dashboard. I assume you recommend giving these a try? Ive only been playing a year so Im sure that is part of the issue! 😅 Thank you!
Hi, there are two kinds of reeds that I normally play: Rico Plasticover and Fibracell (as you might see on some other vids that I posted). They are perhaps not the easiest reeds to handle, because they tend to be a little too bright for a lot of players. Depending on the mpc of course. They behave mostly like Rico Royal in your mouth. But the sound will be different. You might wanna give the Plasticovers a try. They produce lot of projection. But don't expect to get the sound you want right away. The Fibracells are a different story 😉
@MichaelAusserbauer Thanks for the write up Mike! I have Fibracells on my alto but they sound spittier than Hemkes when I articulate. I am like a Boxer dog 😆. I'll give the plasticovers a shot for my tenor as that's what I primarily play now. Really appreciate your time! Really enjoy your music.

From 1:33 to 1:44, was flawless; I can hear you've been practicing that one.
