    Hello all. The eyelets without the splits usually come with little washer type rings. If you place the washer onto the flying saucer, the eyelet in the hole, hover over the flying saucer and gently press the handle until you see the stick going through the eyelet then full press. With that you get a very smooth fixture. I usually tilt my crocodile so I can see everything is where I need it to be then I stand up and use my substantial body weight to press.

      Thanks for this info - it was the only kind of eyelets that I could find - the ones with the washer type rings.

    Pam, you're a life saver. I have the small version cropadile, but it's just about the same principal. I haven't done any crafting in so long, but ready to start again and was ready to throw the silly thing away.. not anymore, I love how you explain things, thank you so much for preventing me throwing mine away 😊 I think these people should reward you, because their instructions are as clear as mud 🙄

    Yes, you saved me too. I asked hubby to help me learn this Crop-A-Dlie Big Bite which I've had for 7+ years. I don't do mechanical/tool learning easily. He doesn't read directions, but will look at picture guides. Needless-tp-say, we aren't a good fit for teacher-learner. He stormed off because I didn't get it. I learned so much from you and relaxed and laughed at your expressive descriptors. Thank you for doing this video! I can scratch off learning the crop-a-dile on my To Do Craft List.

    You are a star, Pam! Thank you for this. It has taken the complication out of using this. As you say there are tutorials on using it but like most tutorials made by the suppliers of items they do not scale it into simple terms like you have. We (or I need) more tutorials by people like yourself who takes the mystery (and again complication) out of using things that are supposed to help us in our JJ. Thank you again!

    Finally someone who explained why for years I've had issues and rarely use eyelets. I had the wrong ones. No pre splits. And mine was wonky every time. Now maybe I can use this a little more. And thanks for letting us know to keep it at ONE setting. I've tried them all. I even replaced an entire Cropadile thinking mine was defective. I bought new dials that they do sell separately and NOTHING worked. Such a simple fix. You rock girl!!!

    Oh, my liege!! Love this! I recently bought one of these and the eyelet settings were a bit of a challenge. The eyelet & grommet settings are lettered on the top rotating cube and numbered on the bottom rotating cube: 3/16” settings are A1 = A is top cube and 1 is bottom cube. The 1/8” is 3C. Because I have both 1/8” and 3/16”, I committed to memory. It’s hard to see the letters and numbers so I rubbed some nail polish in them and wiped away the excess to reveal the imprints of the characters better. There’s also a chart in the online owners manual that I took a screenshot of so I always have it on my phone. I wish I would’ve known about the teeth on the back of the eyelet before I bought some - mine are solid and they split but it ain’t purty. Luckily I’m still in the experimental phase and not too worried about how they turn out. Thanks, Pam!!

    • @ThePaperOutpost
      @ThePaperOutpost  4 роки тому +2

      I hear you! I tried memorizing the chart thing, I made a copy , proceeded to lose it immediately,,,lol,,,no surprise..I just thought if I can find one setting that works well all the time I will stick with it. After much punching..alas!

    • @April4YHWH
      @April4YHWH 4 роки тому +5

      The Paper Outpost I have a proposition for ya... could you do a video demonstrating a vast array of examples of standard and clever ways to use eyelets and grommets in our journals? Please...? I’ve seen a couple (an eyelet in the lower corner of the journal cover with the TH loop pin & a bauble is the only example my brain with cough up at the moment... oh! and obviously as a way to thread ribbon through for a closure), but would love to incorporate more of them. Oh! And brads, too!! My AliExpress Fairy is bringing me a boatload of brads and I am itching to put those little babies to work. I used to be a sheet metal worker in a former life so any kind of metal, tool, and/or hardware makes me geek out. Don’t get me started with embossing metal...that’s what got me into this mess in the first place!
