    Had not realised how beautiful that whole area is, hopefully will be able to get there some day, perhaps
    What a fabulous local restaurant experience, the meal looked incredible, certainly worth the hike to get there.
    A fabulous day, so much to enjoy.
    Cheers from Australia 🇦🇺

    That certainly qualified as a perfect day :) How is this time of year for visiting the Dalmatian coast. I assumed late spring was the best time to avoid the crowds but maybe the fall is better.

      Fall is perfect weather for us - still hot enough to swim and enjoy the beach, but not very busy, so everything is cheaper. Felt like a much more relaxing time to go there

    This was such a good perspective for us to have! I feel like no one really talks about the lesser known places in Croatia. We would totally do the same for food by the way lol. And totally relate to balancing UA-cam with what you truly want to do - it's hard to battle but worth it to follow your heart - UA-cam will always be here :)

    • @LisaAndJosh
      @LisaAndJosh  3 роки тому +1

      For sure - there's so much to explore outside of the main city areas.. in fact the major areas were where we had the least fun. UA-cam will always be here for sure :)

    Ispodpek is called the technique where food is baked under a bell shaped object. The origins of this cooking style was from ancient roman times. The soldiers would use their shields to cook whatever they had available.

    We appreciate the effort!! We love food, and a 2 hour ferry is such a nice way to get to somewhere 🙌🏼 We’ve heard such good things about the islands - we went to Croatia this summer but it was so booked out we had to leave after 2 days. We’re also trying to balance work with the magic of travelling, so totally understand what you’re saying 😌 The restaurant food looked INCREDIBLE 🤤 literally so delicious. Looks like you had an amazing day! Can’t wait to go back and experience this for ourselves!!

      Ferry is the best mode of transportation for sure. And whoa - that sucks! I guess at that time everyone from everywhere could only go to Croatia, so it was packed. I hope you get a chance to see it when it's less insane :)

      @@LisaAndJosh Hahaha yeah it was SO full. We’re planning to go back one day, but not for a while, but definitely will be going in a shoulder season next time☺️

    Croatia is all about the islands. Split is great for a night or 2 but get on those ferries!

    What’s the name of the restaurant?
    We will be on Hvar in July. Staying fairly close to the Stari Grad plains actually. Looks great!

    Josh and Lisa, did you start in Split? Where did you get on the ferry? If we are docking in Hvar port, it looks like a 25 minute ride by vehicle...

    Don’t forget to try Mexican beer and tacos 🌮 in Split 😋 👍

    I have a question regarding transportation on Hvar. Do you know if Uber or some sort of transport service is available on the island? Also did you walk from the ferry to the beach and then walk from the beach to Hora Hvar?

    • @LisaAndJosh
      @LisaAndJosh  2 роки тому +1

      We walked from the beach to Hora Hvar (though it was a long, very warm walk!) and the restaurant kindly ordered a taxi for us back to the ferry just in time :)

      There’s cabs and all kinds of transportation and rentals. Check out the tourist agencies for help.

    Josh I can hear the sound of Nate (and Kara) in your voice. You have the same flow as he speaks in some conversations. Have you noticed?

    Bread, rice or butter when you eat hot things. Liquids...not so much.

      But liquids feel so right!! Even though they're super wrong lol
