I watched this 10 years ago it's crazy cause I felt as if I watched it recntly but I was 15 back then damit a reason to be more depressed it's my birthday and the new decade thing ...
Well I hope that you didn't have kids just to follow the trend of selfish adults who do not think about world ending due to climate change just to post photos of a perfect family on social media which lets face it...most often are unhappy. Nothing changed for me since that time. I just have a career, like a multigenerational home with my parents and husband and enjoying my freedom traveling and activities. I see so many who went full traditional and boy do they look unhappy behind closed doors and complain about their lives!
Who all came here to relive old makeup videos when the beauty community was actually teaching tutorials because they loved makeup, were creative and not creating dramas? I just came back from the havoc of Laura Lee's trashy apology. I just miss Michelle Phan so much. I'm in tears.
iHateRonanKeating well she is running business now which is doing very well she has a few beauty guru you tubers that work there like Gabriel Zamora just to name her company is ipsy
I'm not gonna hate on beauty gurus because i love watching their drag style makeups... But let's be honest Michelle was serving us real tutorials that any of us could recreate !
This was the first make up video I ever saw in my life. I was in sixth grade, I like to watch it every now and than. Now I'm 18 and I actually understand the terminology of what she was saying. 😂
Rewatching mich's old vids really brings back memories. Around this time was when makeup tutorials became popular and the beauty segment on youtube became one of the more clicked on links. I really miss the way it used to be, how no one really knew how to collab yet and the youtube community was just discovering new ideas everyday. It's truly cool to see the youtube community start to grow bigger and bigger and everyone knows everyone now and it's kind of like UA-cam had a coming of age experience. :') such bittersweet nostalgia.
It was actually the first video of hers that I ever saw, it was a couple of years ago when I was going through my vampire faze. I've been following Michelle's journey for years now :)
So refreshing to see an actual tutorial you can follow with clear instructions and not overly using products. So nostalgic, one of my favorite makeup artist growing up.
Same hahaha.. I was OBSESSED ! same thing with all her other videos as well, but the first one i ever watched and was absolutely obsessed with was her "Natural makeup" look hahaha... Oh how times have changed eh 😟
I learned so much from Michelle from these types of videos 6 years ago.....so unfortunate that most of her videos are sponsored or just feel like a commercial....I mean I'm happy for her that she's so successful but, come on Michelle......we miss you.
*Awww The nostalgia is real...i miss THIS Michelle.. I remember when this first came out i was obsessed haha.. And i used to do my makeup everyday following her "Natural makeup" look... I also miss Bubz, ilikeweylie , andreas choice, pancea81 ! And many more*
I’m glad she still leaves this video. I remember when i watched this video first time, when i was a teenager. Now i’m 26 years old. How time flies😌 happy new year Michelle
this was the first makeup video i watched when i was 9. i was obsessed with it and honestly watched it like 5 times a day so i could recreate it but obviously when i tried i did not do as well as the video, but ever since then i have loved makeup and i get better at it everyday. thank you michelle for introducing me to the world of makeup !!!:)
Damn this the first makeup video i ever watched ! I was young. Cant even remember how old. I dont even do makeup or care too much about it but something about this video and a few of her others ive seen are just so captivating. The music, her appearance, her voice, the edits. This highkey holds a special place in my heart.
I remember I watched this for one of my High School's Halloween and I'm here like 6 years later, still watching this because it's awesome and there's something about all of Michelle's tutorials that really relax me
So much nostalgia. It was because of Michelle that I wanted a Coastal Scents 88 palette. I coveted it for years and then I got one as a birthday gift to myself for my 19th birthday and I still have it.
8 years ago. that’s insane because i’m 15, and i grew up learning from her. i will always hold these videos close to my heart! i credit all of my makeup/theatre abilities to michelle.
I went into complete nostalgia mode and watched all her most popular videos from back in the day. These videos were my entire young adolescence, I binged them over and over again just because it felt nice and I could feel her genuine interest and joy from playing with makeup. As in just that - it's play!
Personally for me Michelle is the beauty community, she was the very first person that I saw doing makeup tutorials on UA-cam, and she's the main reason why I love makeup now. Without her influence and especially this video I most likely wouldn't have an interest that could lead to a career.
looking back, I really appreciate the way she explains WHY she does what she does. I absolutely learned almost everything I know about makeup from her tutorials.
this is still my favorite makeup tutorial ever. not sure if it's because of nostalgia or the music. probably both. in all honesty though, this look is amazing.
Omg the music is called Doll and it's from VAMPIRE KNIGHT! MY FAV SUPERNATURAL ROMANCE ANIME EVER!!! but if u read the manga and think about it, it's just those 3 characters that die over and over again. *SPOILER* seoously. Kaname dies twice, Yuki dies, in a way, twice (memory erase, then death), and Zero dies some time before Yuki. Then Kaname resurrects a second time. This is soooo messed up but I LOVE IT!!!
God I remember watching this tutorial so many times as a kid and always trying to do the makeup. What a throw back. I come back every now and again for the nostalgia and to find the music in the video lmao.
Michelle was waaay ahead of her time, she knew NOT to set your eyeshadow base, she knew to use a powder puff for a smooth surface NOT a brush, she smudged her liner by blending it with eyeshadow, she started the idea of “carving” with concealer, she knew everything about contour and blush and highlight, etc…she knew exactly what the future would (and should) hold in makeup…in my opinion Michelle is the true mother of makeup 🖤🖤🖤
this was my first make up tutorial i was hanging out with my ftiend when she showed me this tutorial a few years ago i was so amazed i ignored her and watched the rest of michelles vids! i just want to say thanks for putting me on the path of make up artistry and helping me find my passion
OMIGOSH. When I was 5 or 6 I was watching this with my older sister and her friend. now 7 years later I found this video again and I'm a HUGE fan of this channel. I was a fan since I was 5 and I'm still a fan.
Omg I know! She was just stunning, and everything was explained so well. This is the first makeup tutorial my best friend and I used when we were 11 and we were soooooo bad 😂😂😂
Gosh I remember recreating this look at home and making my parents laugh so hard😂 One of the first vids I've seen from her, I watched it multiple times 😳 I was really young, I didn't really understand how makeup worked or what she was saying but I fell in love with her anyway. I learned everything from her and now I'm at a level where I'm asked to do my friends' prom makeup! All thanks to Michelle ❤❤❤ (and I'm dying to see her renewed Emcosmetics I can't wait to see her new products 😍)
2:20 I actually used this tip when I started doing my brows! I first watched this video like 10 years ago, but somehow that tip stuck out to me many years later whenever I would get frustrated that my brows were slightly uneven, and it actually helped me make them look better ❤️ You also have such gorgeous eyes!! I still think about them every now and then, they’re so mesmerizing 🥺
Also at that time the trend was to use a brush for the fondation, sometimes the hands but the makeup sponges where kind of shitty for fondation (but OK for loose powder)
+EverythingGamer TeamOfGames Pinks, oranges, golds and browns all look good with grey and blue eyes, contrary to belief lmao. Blue and green are probably the worst colors to pair with eyes of matching color.
This was the very first video I found of Michelle's years ago. Man those were the days. The nostalgia is kicking in making me feel all kinds of intense emotions both good bad and the sad like cheap wine
In my opinion, Michelle Phan was and always will be the og makeup guru. James Charles, Manny Mua, and Jeffrey Star can’t compare.
Hunter Miller yessss! She, EnKore and Petrilude. 🙌🏻
PERIODT
Yes ♡ her and BubzBeauty !!!
Delilah Ross Omg yes! Michelle and Bubzbeauty really made me fall in love with the beauty community back in 2011. Now it’s all gone downhill :/
I watched this 10 years ago it's crazy cause I felt as if I watched it recntly but I was 15 back then damit a reason to be more depressed it's my birthday and the new decade thing ...
the nostalgia is real. i remember watching this when it just came out

Well I hope that you didn't have kids just to follow the trend of selfish adults who do not think about world ending due to climate change just to post photos of a perfect family on social media which lets face it...most often are unhappy. Gosh I miss these kind of videos. Back when she was creative or youtube as a whole was actually creative.
Now it's all about the audible...
Lauren Solano me too
Eda Selin ikr
I agree. Most make up gurus right now are basically doing the same look over and over and over again. Same "kardashian" style of makeup.
iHateRonanKeating well she is running business now which is doing very well she has a few beauty guru you tubers that work there like Gabriel Zamora just to name her company is ipsy
Michelle really was the blueprint. The nose contour, the Laura mercier translucent power. Everything
Yes. EVERYTHING! It's a total art form with her.
OMG. The Coastal scents 88 palette... so much memories
I'm not gonna hate on beauty gurus because i love watching their drag style makeups... But let's be honest Michelle was serving us real tutorials that any of us could recreate !
That's true
This was the first make up video I ever saw in my life. I was in sixth grade, I like to watch it every now and than. Now I'm 18 and I actually understand the terminology of what she was saying. 😂

You spoke the words right out of my mouth😂

Can’t believe it’s been 12 years since this came out… I used to watch this on repeat when I was 10 and now I’m 20 🥺❤️
I was 18yo, now 32 haha! Crazy how time flies!!
It was actually the first video of hers that I ever saw, it was a couple of years ago when I was going through my vampire faze. I've been following Michelle's journey for years now :)

So refreshing to see an actual tutorial you can follow with clear instructions and not overly using products. So nostalgic, one of my favorite makeup artist growing up.
god, I'd watch this at least 4 times a week when it first came out. the nostalgia is real.
Same hahaha.. I was OBSESSED ! same thing with all her other videos as well, but the first one i ever watched and was absolutely obsessed with was her "Natural makeup" look hahaha... Oh how times have changed eh 😟

is it just me or Michelles face looks different now than in her old videos .-. like her smile and face structure . still beautiful af thoe
I think her lips have always been like that.
Nope. It looks plumper. I'm not hating, just stating the obvious
Jaymee Xiong she looked prettier back then than now tbh :(
she told us before in one of her vids that she uses invisalign! (-:
+KoreanLuv maybe thats because this video is from 6 years ago its called aging
I love coming back to her old videos because of the music she used made me fall in love with certain looks & the music just hits & fits.
bro i remember watching these when i was like 7 and the music and vibe genuinely scared me
Oh look. The video that started my undying obsession with Vampire Knight.
Mercury Cosplay omg me tooo ❤️
this was the first makeup video i watched when i was 9. i was obsessed with it and honestly watched it like 5 times a day so i could recreate it but obviously when i tried i did not do as well as the video, but ever since then i have loved makeup and i get better at it everyday. thank you michelle for introducing me to the world of makeup !!!:)
To be 12 again…. Man this brought back so many memories I miss… who else?
I love these old tutorials
Haven't watched these since they came out. Was literally just reminded of this and wow that's nostalgia.
I'll never forget watching this video as a kid in middle school and trying to make this look work with dollar store makeup.
VAMPIRE KNIGHT MUSIC. I love you. Your make-up, your everything.
Damn this the first makeup video i ever watched ! I was young. Cant even remember how old. I dont even do makeup or care too much about it but something about this video and a few of her others ive seen are just so captivating. The music, her appearance, her voice, the edits. This highkey holds a special place in my heart.
Do I hear some Vampire Knight in that background music??
I thought I was hearing things when I heard it 😂
+sims2lovealot Yes it is vampire knight ending song ! ^_^
sims2lovealot
I remember I watched this for one of my High School's Halloween and I'm here like 6 years later, still watching this because it's awesome and there's something about all of Michelle's tutorials that really relax me
I love how she always says "create" in almost all of her tutorials🥰
Even Michelle Phan went through that really awkward emo-vampire-panda eyes stage. Its comforting to know that.
The accuracy of this comment ╮(╯▽╰)╭
well it's a costume.
+39abc93 no shit Sherlock
I blame twilight
So much nostalgia. It was because of Michelle that I wanted a Coastal Scents 88 palette. I coveted it for years and then I got one as a birthday gift to myself for my 19th birthday and I still have it.
Watching this now...reminded me of the Twilight days where many would love to have a vampy look...
That twilight era funny stupidly funny looking back now but were also the best and “comfort” days 😭🖤
VAMPIRE KNIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!😨😨😨😆😆😆
Yeeeeesssssssssss!
Kanon Wakeshima ❤️ love that song still doll
this was without question my all time fave tutorial she did
8 years ago. that’s insane because i’m 15, and i grew up learning from her. i will always hold these videos close to my heart! i credit all of my makeup/theatre abilities to michelle.
Michelle Phan + Late Night Alumni was the most iconic combo of my childhood 😭❤
Still one of my favorite videos after all these years
This music goes perfectly with the theme!
I went into complete nostalgia mode and watched all her most popular videos from back in the day. These videos were my entire young adolescence, I binged them over and over again just because it felt nice and I could feel her genuine interest and joy from playing with makeup. As in just that - it's play!
Those contacts look so natural...
Personally for me Michelle is the beauty community, she was the very first person that I saw doing makeup tutorials on UA-cam, and she's the main reason why I love makeup now. Without her influence and especially this video I most likely wouldn't have an interest that could lead to a career.
a small but crucial nugget of my childhood ❤
looking back, I really appreciate the way she explains WHY she does what she does. I absolutely learned almost everything I know about makeup from her tutorials.

I used to be OBSESSED w everything abt this video omg
Omg the music is called Doll and it's from VAMPIRE KNIGHT! MY FAV SUPERNATURAL ROMANCE ANIME EVER!!! but if u read the manga and think about it, it's just those 3 characters that die over and over again.

Anyone watching in 2023?? This video will always be nostalgic of my childhood. ❤
When you started playing Vampire Knight music I had a fangirl attack
this was my first make up tutorial i was hanging out with my ftiend when she showed me this tutorial a few years ago i was so amazed i ignored her and watched the rest of michelles vids! i just want to say thanks for putting me on the path of make up artistry and helping me find my passion
This was 12 years ago already?!??!? Omg
Ahhh I still love this vid and look all these years later
I have watched this video every year before Halloween since 2010. Now it's 2020, and I still like it.
2024 checking in.
Still watching it 5 years later :)
OMIGOSH. When I was 5 or 6 I was watching this with my older sister and her friend. now 7 years later I found this video again and I'm a HUGE fan of this channel. I was a fan since I was 5 and I'm still a fan.

very nostalgic. watching this in 2024. ugh my childhood. ❤
I thought I recognised that music. Vampire Knight, amirite?
She does use "Suna No Oshiro", but the first song is "Rainy Days" by Late Night Alumni.
Its Vampire Knight
Ahh great anime. And yeah the one of the songs sounds like the ending credits to Vampire knight
Actually it's the ending to Vampire Knight Guilty :) I love that anime series
Melissa Raines We're not discussing which season it's from, genius. Just the fact it's from Vampire Knight.
Close my eyes (08:01)

Gosh I remember recreating this look at home and making my parents laugh so hard😂 One of the first vids I've seen from her, I watched it multiple times 😳 I was really young, I didn't really understand how makeup worked or what she was saying but I fell in love with her anyway. I learned everything from her and now I'm at a level where I'm asked to do my friends' prom makeup! All thanks to Michelle ❤❤❤ (and I'm dying to see her renewed Emcosmetics I can't wait to see her new products 😍)
2:20 I actually used this tip when I started doing my brows! I first watched this video like 10 years ago, but somehow that tip stuck out to me many years later whenever I would get frustrated that my brows were slightly uneven, and it actually helped me make them look better ❤️
You also have such gorgeous eyes!! I still think about them every now and then, they’re so mesmerizing 🥺
Michelle Phan is so professional, and so beautiful. I really look up to her. And I'm an 'instant fan' of anyone that loves vampires }:[
I like how beauty blenders weren't invented, she just used a makeup sponge
Also at that time the trend was to use a brush for the fondation, sometimes the hands but the makeup sponges where kind of shitty for fondation (but OK for loose powder)

This was the very first video I found of Michelle's years ago. Man those were the days. The nostalgia is kicking in making me feel all kinds of intense emotions both good bad and the sad like cheap wine
