- We went in search of the gravesite of Catalan soprano and diva Montserrat Caballé who died only last year (2018). She is buried in a small, newer cemetery in the Sant Andreu section of Barcelona. John Wm and I are notorious for not being able to translate the streets shown on maps into actual physical directions but we didn't do badly this time. Along the way I bade John sing in the Subway at a spot reserved for street musicians. Like the good sport he is, he didn't hesitate for a moment. We found the cemetery but walked in circles trying to locate the entrance. If you watch the enclosed video you will see the surprising and astonishing result of our search!

I was there yesterday! I searched for that grave for almost an hour! 🤣 Also a creepy black cat was looking at me. When I found it some kind old ladies who was attending a funeral nearby asked me if I was searching the grave of la Caballè and explained to me that she is buried there but there is no name because it's her parents grave 🤷🏻♂️ i put a flower on the floor tho

Good for you. So few have showed us where the Diva is laid alongside her parents. Actually, she is there but I think she is in the unmarked crypt below. Pictures from others show that her and her husband will be placed in the crypt below. And she had a sense of humor, she would have enjoyed the visit. And the song at least I hope. 💜

Was in BCN for Puritani at Liceu, one week after she passed away. We went there to pay tribute. Flowers all over the floor.

En un país culto y no lleno de ignorantes como tu, a Montserrat Caballe se la respetaría como persona generosa que siempre colaboro cantando gratuitamente para ayudar a diversas asociaciones sin ánimo de lucro que necesitaban recaudar fondos que se destinaban a ayudar a quien más lo necesitaban. Si Montserrat Caballe no tiene un mausoleo es debido a que nunca le interesó tener un lugar al que pudieran acudir sus fans, que son millones en todo el mundo, ella nunca olvido sus orígenes de familia humilde y por eso no hizo construir un panteón para sus padres y el resto de la familia, la ostentación no es muy habitual en Catalunya!
