My phobia is going through the enlistment process again and getting told to bend down and spread the cheeks,my other phobia is listening to a dude skinner and more hair than me call me old timer.
Regarding claustrophobia I always hated getting onto the Blackhawk going into an operation for the simple reason that I am not in control of what happens while flying into a possible gunfight. Is this claustrophobia? I don't know but it always made me feel that way, especially when you notice the gunner has opened up and the pilot starts taking evasive manoeuvres. Funnily enough is I never felt that way travelling in a Bushmaster PMV.
Cas I remember doing the underground drains at Singo with webbing on and the seco blasting everyone with the fire hose when they came out.I am not sure if they still do that at IETs.
Also had a burn over drill in CFS that was pretty scary to keep hold of the hose of flat stick full fogger and hide under the jet of mist as flames pass over everyone for a brief couple seconds
Wouldnt consider myself claustrophobic but one time away camping my friends ziptied my swag zippers and dismantles the frame so it collapsed on me, cant say i enjoyed that.

Im in my last term of year 12 in WA, looking to enlist at the end of next year after doing some civvy work for a bit while doing a gap year of sorts. The final goal for me is to get into the SASR out here in Swanbourne after a couple years of my mandatory service obligation. My initial aim is to go through Duntroon and come out as an officer, with the hopes that the lessons learnt there and the deployment experience will bode well for the SASR staff. My problem that i'm looking for some advice on is to do with how much I am struggling at school, looking at a tough five weeks to just barely scrape together a pass, so my Duntroon plan could be in jeopardy. Just wondering if you could shed some light on if the SASR would significantly prefer an officer going through selection or whether it isn't worth the effort and I should go through Kapooka instead. Whatever you tell me would be much appreciated, cheers Cas
I think I’d be mostly ok in that situation, as long as I wasn’t the first person in. I’d be super paranoid about having people behind me blocking the way if shit hit the fan lol
Yeah I am actually a big surfer and have faced getting pushed under on a few occasions and it isnt fun.
