Often people use the term “overdose” as short hand to “lethal overdose”. But in reality taking a dose that is larger than what you’re comfortable with is an overdose. Id agree that a bad trip isn’t necessarily an overdose- although id say youre much more likely to have a bad trip if you “over-dose”-yourself. You can actually have a bad trip from any dose, even an underdose- hell you can have a panic attack dead sober! So yeah, i dont think its fair, and its honestly even a tad misleading he is explaining it in this manner.

The Trips I've been having have really helped me a lot,I finally feel in control of my emotions and my future and things that used to be mundane to me now seem incredible and full of nuance on top of that I'm way less driven by my ego and I have alot more empathy as well

No there definitely is such thing as a bad trip. I’ve tripped hundreds of times and support psychedelics but there are very rare trips that can give people ptsd or be so bad they kill themselves. This is very different than a challenging trip though it’s very rare and can generally be avoided via set and setting.

You’ve never experienced a bad trip. I tried acid 3 times. First I had a double 150ug of some goooood shit and smoked. I thought I had a bad trip, but it was just challenging. The second was blissful and the best trip I ever had. It was 200ug but was 4 days after the first so much weaker and I didn’t smoke. A few weeks later, I tried that dose again thinking it wouldn’t be much different and smoked a good .4 bong at the end of the come up, and about 40 minutes later a switch flipped and I felt like I was in a cartoon, literally. I freaked the fuxk out as I wasn’t ready, and that will remain the scariest experience of my life. It jumpstarted my anxiety, but also helped with self reflection ofc. It lasted 14 hours and the whole world was barely holding together, I was getting 8 second tracers EVERYWHERE. At one point my heart was pumping so fucking hard cus of my permanent state of panic and being inches away from breaking through the entire time and I thought I was going to die. My resting heart rate is about 60, it was above 130-140 just sitting down. Shit freaked me out, sticking with my shrooms but waiting to be in a better mental state first.
nearly died bc of an acid overdose. nearly beat myself to death while simultaneously getting my neck tangled in electrical cords and had no idea that was happening. all i could see and feel were the worst and most terrifying hallucinations that i don’t even have the words to describe. i really thought i died and it was the most mentally painful thing i’ve ever felt. woke up in the hospital a day later after being held down buy 6 officers and sedated by paramedics and was kept there for a week. if you choose to do psychedelics, please be safe and always have someone there with you, if i didn’t have someone with me that night i would’ve died. people don’t realize how dangerous psychedelics really are to your mind and i was one of those people- now i have ptsd from it. the fact you could kill yourself without even realizing or knowing is terrifying. when i was beating myself and nearly being strangled i was basically unconscious- i couldn’t feel, see, hear and my mind was somewhere else completely- i had no idea i was killing myself. please do your research before taking anything, i wouldn’t wish what i went through on anyone
Sounds like your mind is dangerous, not the acid itself. It’s misleading to say “i nearly died of an acid overdose” as most people will assume you mean a lethal overdose as opposed to too large of a dose- you’re borderline spreading false information with your choice of words. For you to have a 50/50 chance of death from LSD toxicity you have to take over 1000 hits. And thats a 50/50 chance which was based on the actual tested LD50 of LSD in mice which was OVER 8000 HITS- they claim that they did some math to determine its about an 8th of that for humans, but honestly that doesnt seem like a super reliable number, i reckon its in the hundreds of thousands of hits in reality; as people have taken well over 500 hits and have had 0 health implications. So yeah, sorry you threw some kind of fit on a few tabs but dont try to convey it as anything other than that- its dishonest. I do think there is a lesson to be learned about drug safety from your story, but it has more to do with the users psyche than the toxicity of the drug.

Psychosis in particular can be induced from smoking weed- infact its more common than you may think. Psychosis can be induced from lack of nourishment for ones body and mind- like sleep or food deprivation- so I dont really think its fair to list these as products or side effects that are caused by LSD especially not in any unique way or super high prevalence. Another thing is; i totally see what youre getting at in that people act like its so great and praise LSD and act like it could never be involved (keyword NOT “cause”) in an experience like yours, or act like it has zero risk. BUT im not being like that. I totally know the type of mentality youre talking about and have observed it, but i do not partake in that line of thinking- and thats not what i had said above. Which leads me into the next item: dying from LSD toxicity is not extremely rare- It has never been recorded. Ever. I was recently drugged by someone I just met, with either acid or mushrooms, I really don’t know which one till I get my results back but it was so horrible because I don’t even do any type of drugs only smoke weed, it was terrifying because I almost killed myself so many times, cops got involved and I was running in the road so many times and saw the most frightening shit ever, my mind kept jumping back and forth to different thoughts and I deadass thought everyone was trying to kill me, I also got stuck in a loop and had really bad psychosis, it lasted for 4 days, I missed so much work and it’s absolutely terrifying.
I just got back from the ER, can confirm it was LSD. Lots of experience experience with it, thankfully no complications. I I took 2 full drops liquid LSD,had serotonin syndrome from Zoloft (sertraline) and Lithium salts. Use with caution. Lived an eternity every second for eons, was woken up by EMS personnel in ER. Asked what year it was, what I took and what happened. Extremely surreal!! Still here, no PTSD or HPPD. No family history of psychosis or schizo-affective disorders. AMA.

Mugs like these give people a bad name cause they decide to take a class A drug without even finding out if it’s dangerous when mixed with your medication. It’s well known you NEVER take serotogenic drugs with SSRI’s. He claims it’s acid he’s either lying or mistaken, LSD doesn’t release serotonin. It mimics a type of serotonin that latches onto the receptor sites. Because the molecule isn’t the same size as regular serotonin you trip out. But with SSRI’s the serotonin repuptake is inhibited meaning it blocks out the LSD molecules. Now if he took MDMA which he probably did (or he’s lying) then the body releases so much serotonin but the receptor sites are blocked by the SSRI’s. This leaves it nowhere to go or drain and you start to develop a fever etc. this can be fatal and it’s called serotonin syndrome. Just wanted to educate people before reading lies from attention seeker like this on the internet and believing it.

@Crabs69 I've been there. I did 9 grams in a tea one time, and I was sure that I was going to die. If you are depressed or going through some bad mental health, then psychedelics will feel completely different. They won't be a band-aid so you can feel fun and happy again. They will only amplify your emptiness. You just have to relax and realize that you're fine. Turn on some classical music and just focus on the beautiful notes and colors. You can make it through this. It might not be comfortable, but in a few hours, you'll start feeling better.

The first thing that I noticed was the faces of the show I was watching become unrecognizable from each other. Then everything starts to melt, and I’m not talking like haha funny acid the walls are melting, like reality is melting into darkness and so are you inside of it. Once I started to melt I was really scared, but then my trip sitter told me I just have to let myself give in to the experience and it felt like I was ripped apart and put back together like a star.

If your tripping to hard and want it to tone down a little take a high dose vitamin c tablet with a nice glass of pressed orange juice, the vitamin c will help tone things down a bit to a manageable level. Also only take pycadalics alone if your comfortable with them, first time users should always have an experienced guide or good friend there.

The bad trip doesn't happen bc of supernatural nonsense. The bad trip occurs because you've just flooded your brain's serotonergic receptors and it elicits a response: sometimes good, sometimes bad. It's always a learning experience. But the "magic" isn't in the chemical, it's in the way your brain reacts to it.

You dont have to die from Overdosing, overdosing actually means that you took to much that a professional doser takes and the effects gone to far to the point you cant even handle it or yourself.
A bad trip is the worse thing ever, you are constantly thinking, am i gonna be this way forever ? Time doesn't seem to move on, when i had a bad trip on acid i was able to control myself and not leave my room and i felt like shit for 8 hours straight, the only thing that kept me calm was my mind telling me "dude is just a drug, you are not witnessing the true form of reality you are just high, everything will be ok" anyways i tried to be a junkie and my advice is just don't do drugs, drink water instead it's much better
Man I have been on some crazy LSD trips. Let me tell you what, its a young mans drug. Shitis far to taxing on us old guys lol. College years we had LSD parties and did shrooms all the time. Nd it was fucking magnificent every single time for me. The last time I did LSD got a little squirrelly. Lasted way longer than I meant it too. Tripped for almost 48 hours on what I took which was crazy. Talk about moving shit around. I couldn't do ANYTHING for those two days. I was effectively retarded. So freaked out by irrational things that I basically went into psychosis for a couple days. Spent that time at home, with my dogs who's fur I could see straight through to their skin. There was a purple mist in the sky and nobody was home all day. It was.... a little too much.
First 20 times was great but then approximately the 21st and 30th time I went insane. The 21st time I blacked out and did insane stuff like destroy my house and run down the street naked and was put in A 72 hour hold. The second bad trip I was able to concentrate and talk with a friend to keep my mind from falling into a blackout. While I was coming down I was driven to another friends house in the desert and suddenly a hawk flew right over me and left a rainbow of trails behind it! It was amazing! That was the last time I took it in 1981. I Dont recommend it or any drugs! I’ve been drug and alcohol free since 1983!

You’ve never experienced a bad trip. I tried acid 3 times. First I had a double 150ug of some goooood shit and smoked. I thought I had a bad trip, but it was just challenging. The second was blissful and the best trip I ever had. It was 200ug but was 4 days after the first so much weaker and I didn’t smoke. A few weeks later, I tried that dose again thinking it wouldn’t be much different and smoked a good .4 bong at the end of the come up, and about 40 minutes later a switch flipped and I felt like I was in a cartoon, literally. I freaked the fuxk out as I wasn’t ready, and that will remain the scariest experience of my life. It jumpstarted my anxiety, but also helped with self reflection ofc. It lasted 14 hours and the whole world was barely holding together, I was getting 8 second tracers EVERYWHERE. At one point my heart was pumping so fucking hard cus of my permanent state of panic and being inches away from breaking through the entire time and I thought I was going to die. My resting heart rate is about 60, it was above 130-140 just sitting down. Shit freaked me out, sticking with my shrooms but waiting to be in a better mental state first.

if you choose to do psychedelics, please be safe and always have someone there with you, if i didn’t have someone with me that night i would’ve died. people don’t realize how dangerous psychedelics really are to your mind and i was one of those people- now i have ptsd from it. the fact you could kill yourself without even realizing or knowing is terrifying. when i was beating myself and nearly being strangled i was basically unconscious- i couldn’t feel, see, hear and my mind was somewhere else completely- i had no idea i was killing myself. please do your research before taking anything, i wouldn’t wish what i went through on anyone

It’s misleading to say “i nearly died of an acid overdose” as most people will assume you mean a lethal overdose as opposed to too large of a dose- you’re borderline spreading false information with your choice of words.
For you to have a 50/50 chance of death from LSD toxicity you have to take over 1000 hits. And thats a 50/50 chance which was based on the actual tested LD50 of LSD in mice which was OVER 8000 HITS- they claim that they did some math to determine its about an 8th of that for humans, but honestly that doesnt seem like a super reliable number, i reckon its in the hundreds of thousands of hits in reality; as people have taken well over 500 hits and have had 0 health implications.
So yeah, sorry you threw some kind of fit on a few tabs but dont try to convey it as anything other than that- its dishonest.
I do think there is a lesson to be learned about drug safety from your story, but it has more to do with the users psyche than the toxicity of the drug.

i’ve noticed a lot of people taking personal offense to reading my story in the past, saying how great lsd is and how im the real problem. i think the lesson to be learned here is to have a bit more empathy for others, and not to invalidate their experience just because you haven’t experienced the same thing.
if you like acid and have no problems when taking it, that’s great, good for you. i personally have had bad experiences using it, and shared them on a relevant video. go back to r/lsd if you want to be brown-nosed about how great your opinion on it is.

Where we differ significantly in out points is the cause of the issue- you point to the substance as the cause, and i point to oneself(i wasnt trying to blame you as an individual even when i was responding to your story, i really more meant it as a response to the situation which I’ve heard of happening in others im not trying to single you out, its only that you wrote a specific instance that relates to a larger theme. Schizophrenia hasnt been induced in people who are not predisposed to it. One can have certain mental disorders sort of latent in their psyche where these disorders arent actually perceptible or really subjectively present to the individual. Heavy drug use- whether prolonged use, or even a very large dose- can bring these “demons out” as they say. Psychosis in particular can be induced from smoking weed- infact its more common than you may think. Psychosis can be induced from lack of nourishment for ones body and mind- like sleep or food deprivation- so I dont really think its fair to list these as products or side effects that are caused by LSD especially not in any unique way or super high prevalence.
Another thing is; i totally see what youre getting at in that people act like its so great and praise LSD and act like it could never be involved (keyword NOT “cause”) in an experience like yours, or act like it has zero risk. BUT im not being like that. I totally know the type of mentality youre talking about and have observed it, but i do not partake in that line of thinking- and thats not what i had said above.
Which leads me into the next item: dying from LSD toxicity is not extremely rare-

I was recently drugged by someone I just met, with either acid or mushrooms, I really don’t know which one till I get my results back but it was so horrible because I don’t even do any type of drugs only smoke weed, it was terrifying because I almost killed myself so many times, cops got involved and I was running in the road so many times and saw the most frightening shit ever, my mind kept jumping back and forth to different thoughts and I deadass thought everyone was trying to kill me, I also got stuck in a loop and had really bad psychosis, it lasted for 4 days, I missed so much work and it’s absolutely terrifying.

He claims it’s acid he’s either lying or mistaken, LSD doesn’t release serotonin. It mimics a type of serotonin that latches onto the receptor sites. Because the molecule isn’t the same size as regular serotonin you trip out. But with SSRI’s the serotonin repuptake is inhibited meaning it blocks out the LSD molecules.
Now if he took MDMA which he probably did (or he’s lying) then the body releases so much serotonin but the receptor sites are blocked by the SSRI’s. This leaves it nowhere to go or drain and you start to develop a fever etc. this can be fatal and it’s called serotonin syndrome.
Just wanted to educate people before reading lies from attention seeker like this on the internet and believing it.

@Crabs69 I've been there. I did 9 grams in a tea one time, and I was sure that I was going to die. If you are depressed or going through some bad mental health, then psychedelics will feel completely different. They won't be a band-aid so you can feel fun and happy again. They will only amplify your emptiness. You just have to relax and realize that you're fine. Turn on some classical music and just focus on the beautiful notes and colors. You can make it through this. It might not be comfortable, but in a few hours, you'll start feeling better.

If your tripping to hard and want it to tone down a little take a high dose vitamin c tablet with a nice glass of pressed orange juice, the vitamin c will help tone things down a bit to a manageable level. Time doesn't seem to move on, when i had a bad trip on acid i was able to control myself and not leave my room and i felt like shit for 8 hours straight, the only thing that kept me calm was my mind telling me "dude is just a drug, you are not witnessing the true form of reality you are just high, everything will be ok" anyways i tried to be a junkie and my advice is just don't do drugs, drink water instead it's much better

Man I have been on some crazy LSD trips. Let me tell you what, its a young mans drug. Shitis far to taxing on us old guys lol. College years we had LSD parties and did shrooms all the time. Nd it was fucking magnificent every single time for me. The last time I did LSD got a little squirrelly. Lasted way longer than I meant it too. Tripped for almost 48 hours on what I took which was crazy. Talk about moving shit around. I couldn't do ANYTHING for those two days. I was effectively retarded. So freaked out by irrational things that I basically went into psychosis for a couple days. Spent that time at home, with my dogs who's fur I could see straight through to their skin. There was a purple mist in the sky and nobody was home all day. It was.... a little too much.
First 20 times was great but then approximately the 21st and 30th time I went insane. The 21st time I blacked out and did insane stuff like destroy my house and run down the street naked and was put in A 72 hour hold. The second bad trip I was able to concentrate and talk with a friend to keep my mind from falling into a blackout. While I was coming down I was driven to another friends house in the desert and suddenly a hawk flew right over me and left a rainbow of trails behind it! It was amazing! That was the last time I took it in 1981. I Dont recommend it or any drugs! I’ve been drug and alcohol free since 1983!
