The thing with that streamer's super messy room and "paying someone 1k to make the problem go away" is that the problem doesn't go away...the symptom subsides for a bit
I've had problems with heroin and bath salts but alcohol is what tore apart my life so quickly. I swear id go back to smoking heroin over drinking a handle of vodka a day
Im an engineer and there was a 3 year period where alcohol 100% ruined my life. Never done any "hard" substances just a little bit of pot once in a while. Booze is the mind killer

Shot up with dilaudid young and regularly at ER. Same time 0c 80s were out. 4 bucks a piece was best I got them for. Got very bad with H always took benzos. Luckily never got dependent to benzo. Wss drinking 1/3 of a handle a night at a point but never during day. Luckily never for alch or benzo WD. Too much opiate withdrawal to recount though

I think the best addiction I had was pain pills. It was back in the mid 2010’s so everyone had opiates. I’d get my assortment of drugs, go home and nod out to music while I smoke cigarettes and weed. It felt like the vacation you have ever taken and lasted until you passed out or went to sleep. I’d just be blasted out my mind nodding out for hours just pure bliss.
Then fentanyl hit the scene the price and rarity of real pills skyrocketed so I quit. Beer is probably my worst addiction, I spend about $20 a day on it. I don’t even like it that much but I drink because I get bored. I’d rather be bored and drunk than bored and sober
Just smoke lots of weed. Alcohol is a bitch of a addiction. Theres absolutely no benefit from drinking.

Best wishes that you'll be able to kick that habit, I'm trying to recover from my drinking problem myself. Boredom is one of the biggest triggers out there, idle mind is the devils playground and such. It sucks and it's hard at many times but I've never met anyone who said they regretted quitting

I've been addicted to everything at some point. Heroine was hard to kick, meth as well. But I'm almost 7 yrs drug free. Alcohol on the other hand, still got its claws in. Doesn't ruin my life, but functioning with NOTHING seems insurmountable
Compared to quitting meth quitting alcohol is so, so fucking hard. In the same boat of jumping from DOC to DOC before chaining myself to the bottle. It was so simple, just block all my dealers and cut off the "friends" who were nothing more than people I got high with to focus on other things. How the fuck do I resist temptation when the pharmacy I get my medication at has 2 aisles dedicated to booze that I have to walk through?? Fucking sucks. Doesn't help being from milwaukee, aka "brew city", in the beautiful alcoholic state of wisconsin

Ive been addicted to both opioids and benzodiazapines and let me tell you, these drugs will Break you after long term use, the anxiety, pain and sickness that ensues will bring the toughest man to his knees

@@foreststeel8842 I had a buddy I used to work with who took that stuff at work every day he'd bust out his sandwich baggy full of green powder, I think ppl thought he was drinking some sort of herbal tea or something but it was kratom, dude was straight getting a buzz at work but he said it was wicked tough to quit, he said the withdrawals were no joke and unless he took exactly the right dose, the right amount of times throughout the day he would feel like crap and even get physical symptoms like aches and pains, soreness, restlessness and fatigue
Food addiction by far is the worse and most spread, the others you can learn to avoid. You have to eat so you are always exposed to it. Extremely destructive on the body, extremely costly to taxpayers.

@@Kevin-mx4vm Procedure still cost resources and money. THe more you have to treat people the more time and money is spent. OBese people need significantly more treatment and resources to help with the multitude of problems they have.
Opiate withdrawal lasts around 5 days vs suboxone which can last 2 months. They prescribe suboxone to get you off opiates. Its horrible
Yes true. But they ween you off the suboxone to a minuscule amount so the withdraws are not as bad. And the PAWS can last you months or even a year if you quit cold turkey. When you ween off at a clinic the PAWS stage doesn’t last as long. Going to a clinic is much safer and success rate is higher than just stopping all of the sudden.

I knew a guy who struggled with every drug. This…guy would have to say alcohol caused him more problems than anything by far.

I couldn't imagine being addicted to anything other than weed, nicotine, and coffee. Anything else and I'd be dead within a week with how addictive my personality is.

Alcohol impacts people the worst overall in my opinion. I'm not a prohibitionist or anything, but I do wish people wouldn't mess with it on the off chance that they might become an alcoholic. I fucked off my entire twenties either being drunk, in withdrawals, or in rehab. I've seen people keep going back to it until their liver falls out of their ass, including my mother.
Not to say other addictions are a walk in the park or anything. Opioid withdrawals last a long-ass time comparatively, and being addicted to cocaine or amphetamines seems like never being satisfied.
Once you quit amphetamines you get really bad anhedonia, I definitely got brain damage from them. Like you said, you never feel satisfied. Even now I just can't get the same enjoyment out of things I used to love because my brain just doesn't make enough dopamine. Been clean for 4 years and it's still like that, I don't even play video games anymore, everything is boring and I don't feel like doing anything at all, but at least there's money in my bank account I guess.

I say this as a recovering drug addict - food addiction is the worst. I can’t imagine having a life threatening addiction to someone you have to use. I don’t need to pop pills and smoke weed to live, but you have to eat to live.
Weed is pretty hard to quit.

Do that for 4 months and then stop everything one day and tell me they aren’t the worst withdrawals in your fucking life

Agreed. It might not do the "Most damage" but the only reason i could ever give it up in the past was to try for a kid, I needed to do it for someone else you know? Even then, you can't eat properly, you get barely any sleep. Its rough coming off and the lifestyle sticks longer than the effects of the withdrawl. I already didn't drink booze so i couldn't "Replace" it with something at the weekend. Covid came along and i never wanted a kid anymore and that relationship fell apart lol
Best thing ever though is being clean for about a year to head back and get floored by a single J. the scents where so so so amazing. The only downside was taking tons of naps and eating more, I didn't have the old motivators or was too paranoid to hit a gym so i've gained a ton in the last couple years. I always tell myself, i can lose that fat if i really want to though. Used to be as lean as 168lbs a few years back. I'm just not motivated to grind like that and kinda okay with a bit of a gut at 34 now lol.

Nobody talks about it but Benzos are the worst. Opiate withdrawal is comparatively the easiest, but that is the problem you have to actually want to quit. Alcohol withdrawal is intense but super short lived, most difficult part is 100% not sliding back into drinking after.

I may or may not be addicted to porn/masturbation. Hard to say because the desire is inbuilt and it feels like so many people are worse off. Like most men. Doesn't affect my life much but I think if I overdo it it makes my mood low. Has not interfered with my relationships much but I fear it will. I can skip a few days when distracted and it's no big deal, but when I'm in my normal routine it's every day at least once. The worst part is the guilt, it feels like I'm cheating. I can't get off to the GF I am current with in my mind like some do. Maybe it's normal and my standards for myself create the guilt. Maybe my addiction is guilt.

Withdrawing from something isn’t the problem. It’s the PAWS that gets you. It can last up to a year. It’s absolutely horrible.

I guarantee you I can get a gram of blow before the guy at McDonald's can get me a burger. Can probably have it delivered faster too. People sell food, people sell drugs. If you know where the salesman is, it is as easy as asking for it and then paying. No different than any other product as far as ease of acquiring.

The fact that more people are switching to high nicotine vapes to avoid cancer sticks is concerning too. They got more nicotine than cigarettes and the withdrawals were worse when I tried to kick the habit, and you can do it inside, so the temptation is 10x worse. Hell, I hit that shit typing this.
