It was invincible and immortal cause Onaga just ressurected them all the time with his power.
Here in Lui Kang's new era the lore for the Dragon Army is quite weak to begin with.

I mean, Baraka, Reptile, Ermac, Sindel, Mileena, and Tanya all firmly ended up on the side of good. Kinda makes sense that we’d have to sacrifice at least Bi-Han to evil.

No matter what, as long as Ed Baboon exists , all timelines will be the same for Bi Han . Subzero was never a bad guy . In mythologies, he was a good guy that did a bad thing just like scorpion. He ended up killing scorpion only because scorpion was gonna kill him as well . No clan crap and no family, as simple as that. Ed boon hates subzero and furthermore, loves scorpion
It’s strange seeing Kuai Liang as Scorpion, but it’s grown on me. I actually like how it’s turned out because we’re able to see his rivalry with Bi-Han more.

The more I see it the more I don't like it
They could have gone a darker route for Bi-Han without turning him into a straight up villain. Ultimately the schism between the brothers could have been done through harsh differences rather than betrayal. Bi-Han could have been dedicated to protecting earthrealm through more aggressive methods such as assassintions,secret manipulation and thieveing to secure fortune that could benfit the clan, compared to Kuai Liang who would rather defend, use diplomacy and espionage.
The two could have a bitter parting but ultimately still care for each other but realize in the end they are just far two different to work together but work independently to secure Earthrealms safety. I would have liked to see Bi-Han softer more compassionate side he reserved for only those closest to him like his brother and Sareena in the previous timelines but also more fleshed out. Truly wasted opportunity to develop his character. They just reused the Noob Saibot character and mixed it with Sektor.

I got to admit, seeing Scorpion getting the scar over his eye is a perfect role reversal. Like the Sub-Zero had to in the original MK trilogy.

In this case, the means don't justify the end. Bi-Han essentially sold Earthrealm out to Shang Tsung, all for the betterment of the Lin Kuei. Nothing should be worth such betrayal. I'm with Kuai Liang on this.

Bi-Han was not evil but he was callous and ruthless and dedicated to the Lin Kuei. In the original midway timeline, he had experienced the mythologies story line that's why if he had won the mk1 tournament he would have left the Lin Kuei if the ending was to be proved true. In the NetherRealm Studios timeline for some reason he was in the tournament just to assassinate the earthrealm fighters. He either lost to Sonya on purpose, or that was bad writing that he lost cause that Bi-Han also experienced mythologies. This Bi-Han is like the original Bi-Han callous and ruthless and this Bi-Han did not experience mythologies to have a change of heart, he is the cold hearted bastard that he was in the original timeline dedicated to the Lin Kuei before the mythologies storyline.
I like it that way, gives them an opportunity to give that change of heart to Sub Zero in later installments, instead of dying and becoming a lackey

I thought those from earthrealm have to fight for earthrealm. Like Bo Rai Cho cant fight in Mortal Kombat cause he is from Outworld and doesn't want to represent them.
It also makes me wonder if Frost will be completely different in this timeline. Because she and Hanzo might become Kuai Lang's top students and become new Fire and Ice heroes for the Earthrealm defenders.

It’s kinda funny that if you looked closely, Scorpion was about ready to whip Sub Zero to death with those restraints if the guards didn’t stop him.
Bi-Han reminds me of Wheatley from Portal 2. Even down to the blue attire which is the same as Wheatley having a blue eye.
Whats hilarious about this scene is that you realize no matter what. Bi han will Always end up Bad. No matter what timeline. Which i find funny because during the Armageddon scene you see two versions of Shang and Quan chi and they're good people. Yeah they're killed off quickly by the real one's but that means that Shang and Quan chi CAN be good in some timeline while Bi han remains an evil Mf.

This is the first game where Bi-Han plays a role and is not jobber, every other game he just jobs (mostly to kuai Liang)
the facial animations shine in this game especially on shan tsung
I still have my doubts about Kuai Liang being Scorpion in this timeline instead of Hanzo Hasashi (especially considering his name in Chinese translates roughly to "quick cooling"), but... they kinda made it work. I respect that.
I will say that I really hope that they release DLC skins (preferably with unique dialogue) of legacy characters from the previous timeline, like Richard Epcar God Raiden, Hanzo's Scorpion (either Patrick Seitz or, more likely, Ron Yuan), and Kuai Liang's Sub-Zero (Steve Blum).
That would be AWESOME. I hope they do this as well.
I wonder if in the next game they'll bring in Frost who could potentially become the next grandmaster and will finally gain the recognition she wanted and bring the Lin Kuei back from evil. If they did it with Baraka and Reptile, the same could be done for her.

It's kind of a travesty that the one mention of Cyrax makes him as corrupt as Bi-han
Give it time. His loyalty to Bi-han may have been for more noble reasons rather than corrupt ones.
I always knew Bi Han was an asshole, but I didn't know he'd be that far gone to actively cause his father's death!

There's no reason he can't be revived still as Sub Zero if he was killed. Just because he was Noob Saibot in the previous timelines, doesn't mean he has to be Noob Saibot in this one.

Kuai Liang, Scorpion with a Scar

When Shang Tsung showed the dragon army, it had me thinking; could this Emperor Ying be Onaga? Because his alias was 'The Dragon King'. I may be wrong and Ying might be a different person and Onaga was said to have ruled Outworld in the original timeline before Shao Kahn killed him and usurped his throne. However Onaga was also an emperor, although of a different realm and he had an undefeatable army even though they were mummified. I think either Ying and Onaga are somehow connected or as I said, maybe Ying is Onaga in this timeline. Also the chamber that houses the army has the symbol of Shinnok's Amulet carved on the wall above the entrance. And with Liu Kang's new timeline, I'm not 100% sure, just a thought that came to mind when I saw the army and the carving of Shinnok's Amulet
Tbf, Damashi turned out to be Shang Tsung from different timeline so basically anyone could be anything.

Well, In Reiko's or Gen. Shao's ending, the latter's ancestors imprisoned Onaga to avoid devastation at Outworld. They planned to free the most feared being for the goals of usurping Empress Mileena's reign.

With this new timeline, it's possible Noob Saibot can be in it as his own character. Now wouldn't that be badass. Bi-Han fighting Noob Saibot. Add to it Lui Kang would tell Bi-Han that's who he becomes in previous timelines. 🤯😳🤯
I think Frost and Sektor will betray Bi-Han, leading to Sub-Zero's death and his resurrection as Noob Saibot. Ashrah and Sareena may play a role in freeing Bi-Han from Quan-Chi's control, and the experience of being an undead slave changes Bi-Han's personality. He realizes how bad oppression is and that he was wrong to betray Earthrealm to advance the Lin Kuei. In other words, Bi-Han might become the "Hanzo Hasashi Vengeful Scorpion" of the New Era and avenge himself by killing Sektor and redeeming himself to Liu Kang. MK Mythologies had Bi-Han save Sareena from the Netherealm. I think it will happen the other way around in the New Era: Sareena saving Bi-Han.
I hope the original scorpion origin story happens where bi han slaughters the sharai ryu and hanzo hasashi gets filled with vengance and seeks to slaughter the entire clan possibly enpowered by titan scorpion this time instead of quan chi.
No matter in any timelines, Scorpion will always hate Sub Zero.
