The big woman was KRS-Ones wife and she's no longer with us. One of the other females singing the chorus is, rapper Heather B. That is his real brother and rap producer ( I believe he co produce this song with KRS) is Kenny Parker.
Thank you for reacting to this, JT!! I KNEW you would appreciate this REAL HIP HOP!! I know how much you like a hard-hitting story, plus, that BASS!! "Knowledge Reigns Supreme Over Nearly Everyone" You don't hear too much about KRS-ONE because he was always at the forefront of Conscious Rap. He's a hip hop purist, so, he openly rejects cultural exploitation. So as "hip hop" became more corporate and commercialized in the 1990s, he opted out of the mainstream. He was the lead emcee for BDP---Boogie Down Productions, a thorough, dope-a$$ hip-hop squad. He's a hip hop historian and an educator, he lectures on all types of diverse topics; a man who literally walks his talk. He is very accomplished on multiple fronts. For example, in 2001, he met with the United Nations and the U.N. recognized hip hop as "an international culture." You should check out, "My Philosophy", where he goes off on how knowledge is power and why he'd rather be a scholar than a king. Another one of my personal favorites is "I'm Still #1" That bassline is so tough. Someone else commented, "You Must Learn". That one STILL blows my mind! If you listen to "Illegal Business", you'll understand why the Corporate America don't really care for him. Really, that song and the one you just reacted to together are more than enough reason.
KRS-One is one of the greatest to ever do it. You gotta do more of him (both as a solo artist and as the emcee for the group Boogie Down Productions). STEP INTO A WORLD, A FRIEND, 13 & GOOD, MY PHILOSOPHY, YOU MUST LEARN, OUTTA HERE
I remember as a kid, this was the 1st song I ever heard cursing in 😂. That version is cut short tho, he does a little talking at the end. He's the man behind the big collaborations in "Self Destruction" and "H.E.A.L." songs, both positive message songs.
The part where he says he had 3 pairs of pants he had to share with his brother is true. the woman on the left singing is Ms. Melodie his wife at the time. One of the best stories told cause everyone can relate to something in the song.
His original album criminal minded 1987 he was 21 years old. Live in an orphan shelter at 16 years old. Met Scott la rock. Who was a social worker at an college graduate. check out krs one . Video My philosophy. R.I.p scott la rock at 25 years old. For trying to stop the violence. Krs one means knowledge reign supreme over nearly everyone.
KRS-ONE is certainly one of the earliest rappers who came to prominence in the early 80s. BDP (Boogie Down Productions) and Scott La Rock was his crew and boy. When Scott La Rock was killed that set him off. You need to do MY PHILOSOPHY. Then you will understand a little better the magnificence that is KRS-ONE. 👨🏾🎓
Listen to Sound of Da Police! That's another great one from KRS-One. That and My Philosophy. MCs Act Like They Don't Know and Step Into A World. Love taking a look back at old school artists!! Much love
JT: you have no idea that you just stumbled across one of the great figures in hip hop. Review "My Philosophy", and " You Must Learn". If you get around to those, I'll give you more of his work...
This was off the "Edutainment" album. Might be his most militant. Check out "Original Lyrics" off the same album. Krs has always spoke on the current social situation. He has also always been ready to battle anybody. Throwback emcee for sure
2:17 K-R-S One Boogie Down Productions and the creator of Edu-tainment. You'd learn something While he Whooped Yo Ass 🤣. This track is over 30yrs old and is still relevant. Just upgrade the weapons and lower the age of the players involved.
KRS-One is one of the greatest to ever do it. You gotta do more of him (both as a solo artist and as the emcee for the group Boogie Down Productions). STEP INTO A WORLD, A FRIEND, 13 & GOOD, MY PHILOSOPHY, YOU MUST LEARN, OUTTA HERE, JACK OF SPADES

The big woman was KRS-Ones wife and she's no longer with us. One of the other females singing the chorus is, rapper Heather B. That is his real brother and rap producer ( I believe he co produce this song with KRS) is Kenny Parker.

Actually liked this review. You paid attention to the lyrics. Didn't talk through it and gave your perspective at the end.
Try BDP's Why Is That from the Blueprint album (before the name was taken).
The name was not taken. The name of that Krs album is the Ghetto Blueprint. Jay z album is called the Blueprint. Stop blindly following the idiot nas
