I remember I used to have these Christmas filmathons with my sister and mother when I was little. We'd torrent and watch a winter or Christmas movie every single evening until Christmas. I have this specific memory of watching The Polar Express for the first time ever. My mother had made salted, buttered popcorn from the corn kernels my great grandma gave us. It was truly magical. I still remember the sound effect they used in the movie for the little jingle bell at the end. I still remember my first thoughts after the movie: ''I want to believe in Santa"
These moments will never return yet we yearn for them every time we think of a movie we've seen long ago

Funny thing about nostalgia movies is that when they're not kids' movies, but rather family movies, they tend to have more jokes as you grow old LOL. Nowadays everything can be too direct, explicit even, but movies used to have layers, and hidden jokes for the grownups watching; so it's so nice going back and then you're finding new things to laugh about. Same with family shows.
Sadly, I don't think I ever watched "Jump In", but the subject is universal for those who just don't quite fit in, who can't find fulfilment in just following what's been pre-set for them.
I mean, without going too deep, that's the beauty of being human, isn't it? Finding a balance between the things we all have in common no matter when and where we find ourselves, and finding what makes us different, special as individuals.
You know, I'm trying really hard but can't pin point a movie that just triggers that massive sense of nostalgia, and maybe that's because great films keep being great in their own right, I'm thinking classic Disney, and the score, the writing, the animation, they're all timeless. Think "Titanic", "Harry Potter", "School of Rock", "Kill Bill"; "Interview with the Vampire", they all have that something that makes them unique and it's almost like they have a personality.
Great topic!! As always have a lovely week! Cheers!!
PS: About the concert, sadly I couldn't find any tickets. Seems like everyone knew but me 🙈😂 I'll be reading all about it tomorrow LOL. Hopefully there will be videos online too 😜

couldn't agree more about the jokes, it's so fun re watching something with new lenses, it creates a new meaning but also respect for the show / movie
your comment about individuality is beautiful - i agree again! It would be fun to have late night talks with you I think haha
honestly for me, I don't get too much nostalgia but somehow this movie made me reflect, which rarely happens - im not sure why i dont get too nostalgic, maybe it's because I grew up in a weird space between not knowing english and discovering english tv shows and not fully understanding them etc, it's interesting to think about!
im sorry about the concert, next time for sure !!
Thanks for the lovely comment and have a nice week :)
