Hi, the Attack knob increases the time it takes for the compressor to act, so that your initial attack gets preserved.
The Output is the MAKE UP GAIN, so it is AFTER the compression.
I think the switch adjusts the input volume, not sure if it boosts a week signal, but it definitely kicked the starts nuts when I had it in High... so a high output guitar could use the Mid or Low setting to adjust for the fact that it already has a high output...

Hey I need some advice from Henning or anyone for that matter. I love sag and I know that a compressor is what I need. So if anyone has a recommendation for a compressor that I can put in front of a dirty amp to get a spongy pick attack I'd love any help I can get.
Does the attack-knob give a longer or shorter time for the compressor to kick in when it is turned clock-wise? Does the output affect the signals volume after or before the compression? What is the purpose of the high/mid/low-switch? Does it bring more volume to the signal before it is compressed or what? (:
I got it today replacing the "scorpion" compressor by joyo. I am very happy with this Aerolite, it is an excellent pedal.
Very powerful, flexible, and its sustain is very loooong.
I will review it here in the next days after using it with acoustic guitar. So far with the stratocaster is great. But my use will be with a DI box inside the mixer for a Guild played fingerstyle. Looks promising. These joyo pedals are a real surprise. Thanks for the nice videos, lovely made and quite funny while serious at the same time! well done!
thx for reviewing and for commenting. One thing not mentioned much in the video, but you mentioned in this comment, is the degree or duration of sustain. Could you comment more on that? Does this have similar sustain qualities to the Philosopher's tone pedal?

Thanks for the demo; how would you compare this with the Pipebomb? I have watched your Pipebomb demo. I understand you don't have the input level selection on the Pipebomb, but the compact box does appeal. I normally use a Keeley 4 knob on my pedal board, but the board is too big for use at Open Mics etc and only suitable for proper gigs. I'm planning to use one of the Joyo compressors in combination with an American Sound box so I can go straight into PAs at Open Mics. I'm guessing you would advocate compressor before American Sound?
correct, Comp first. Pipebomb does a nice hi for general purpose compression, but this Dr J can get a lot more drastic and offers more options. If you have basic needs, the Pipebomb is fine!

noise in the clean setting. hmm im interested on this pedal but is that noise is because of the guitar that he use? I read that some compressor use 12-18v to lower their noise floor. Is this pedal really noisy?
how is this pedal compared to the mooer yellow comp? which works better as a tone enhancer?
The Dr. J has more possibilities because of the attack and different input modes, but the Yellow Comp has the EQ knob which lets you add a good does of high end... I use the Yellow Comp more to be honest....

I would say NO... I'll throw it on the amp and check... but it is a lot more versatile than the dyna comp !

Is this pedal known to be a clone of anything or is this supposed to be an original design. Can't find much out there about Dr J, other than they are a Joyo product.
Nice demo. Like all of yours. Learned about how a compressor works. All the demos would be even nicer without the distracting background. It throws me off, especially if you play little riffs in a different key and then 1 sec after that the riff the background music is faded in again in another key and style. Also, your (very nice) guitar is locked out of tune. I couldn't finish watching the demo.
