  • Hey guys, it's Faiz
    In today's video, I give you guys my thoughts on the story that Poles almost traded with the Falcons and offered them a 4th round pick in order to land Rome Odunze.

    That's even funnier - Atlanta should have traded and they would still get "their guy" Penix. Got Ryan Pace signature all over that thought-process.

      The other thing is too, Atlanta had to know the bears weren’t taking Penix

      @@jameskeffer2972right? I honestly don’t understand why Atlanta didn’t make this deal. Maybe it was because Poles made this offer before the first 7 teams drafted- & Atl possibly was hoping one of the top qbs would fall to them at 8, + maybe they were hyperfocused on “getting their guy” at qb & weren’t listening to trade offers to move down b/c they were considering moving up 🤔🤷‍♂️

      Hilarious man they wouldn’t just take a fourth rounder??? We gonna take Caleb and Penix right? Only they draft a QB after spending big in FA

    maybe they thought we were gonna trade back with a QB needy team? that's the only reason I can think of, then again I don't think any team in the league was gonna trade up for penix lol

    Poles has been better than Pace thus far but stuff like this, Chase Claypool trade, signing old players makes me question him

    It seems dumb to neglect such a trade offer, but it is nothing compared to the fact that they took Michael Penix Jr. Think about it, they got their QB for the next few years and they had the opportunity to give him a very nice WR, TE or even an edge. In that division, very little is needed to dominate. They are solving problems that are years away

      Agreed. And it's completely different than what the Packers did with Rodgers/Love. Atlanta should've maximized on the years that Kirk Cousins has but instead wasted a first round pick on a guy who won't play for them for years.

    When did he offer the trade? There is footage of the draft room before they picked Odunze and Cunningham did tell Poles to chill out and wait. From the clip on Twitter it sounds like they called to see if the Falcons would entertain a trade, but idk that Poles would have necessarily committed to it if the Falcons showed interest.

    • @faizsportstalk
      @faizsportstalk  13 днів тому +2

      Why else would he call though? I believe he would've given a 4th if the Falcons were interested. Poles was THAT committed on taking Odunze.

    Hummmm…. Ian Cunningham wouldn’t let him do that….. so maybe fake news. Why wouldn’t Atlanta do that? Makes no sense sooooooo ………..🐻🔽 we got Rome without giving up anything……

    If Falcons knew there was a 0 chance Bears would then trade #8, I agree with you that Falcons GM dropped the ball. However: Vikings, Jets, Broncos, Raiders, Saints, even Seahawks could have realistically made an offer to Bears to take Penix which Bears would have got significantly more return than a future 4th. Obviously Falcons see Penix as “the guy” for the future of their team. No way they risk losing him for a 4th even if it is just 1% chance Bears trade back out to a team that grabs Penix

      If Chicago wanted to trade down, on what planet would they trade up a spot first?

      @@jameskeffer2972 Bears trade up to 8, the entire league sees the trade. Then you the Broncos sitting at #12 and get call from Poles. Broncos know damn well Bears shopping the pick all over. It gets a team to panic trade.

      @@joesportsfan6326 yeah and then you won’t get the guy you traded up a spot to get in the first place. If he’s really not that special to u, why even bother trading up one spot for him?

      @@jameskeffer2972 I’m not sure if you are trolling me. It is possible Bears only wanted Joe Alt or Malik Nabers at 9. They gone. When Atlanta on clock at 8 Bears give up a future 4th with intent to trade the 8. So now a QB needy team would offer much better package, and if QB needy teams stand pat, surely another team would make an offer to jump ATL to grab Rome or Dallas Turner or Latu. Extremely low probability Bears would jump to trade back, but why would Atlanta risk that
