Devonte should have never missed the block and even if Matt threw an incomplete, we could have punted and still won the game. Shanahan got cocky.

As a fellow ATLien; Atlanta aren't the one's not giving Matty his flowers, it's the media. I dare you to go to any of the malls, or downtown, and avoid seeing a Matt Ryan jersey at least 10 times. You won't because it's not possible, all of Georgia loves Matty Ice.
The problem is the fact during any debate or any mention of the Falcons in the media, or online, the only thing you'll see is 28-3. It's hard to defend against that as a Falcon fan. We're literally an immortal NFL meme that won't go away, even if the franchise win it's first super bowl. Unfortunately, Matt was the QB that didn't put his foot down when Kyle Shanahan kept drawing up passing plays.

What frustrates me about a lot of Falcon fans is how much they LOVE Vick and then discredit Ryan. Vick was a sensational player, entertaining, but while he was in Atlanta he didn't give it his all. He may have been better than Ryan, but he wasted his potential by just being happy with using only his God given talent and not trying to improve. Ryan gave ATL his all, broke all time Falcon records, multiple winning seasons, and MVP season, 2 NFC championship games and 1 Super Bowl appearance and so many fans raise Vick on a pedestal while shitting on Matt Ryan. I don't get it.

He wasn't appreciated in Atlanta. Most of us including myself didn't want to let go Michael Vick experience. I would say this. Matt Ryan saved the Atlanta Falcons after the Michael Vick situation. Falcons went back to the playoff with a rookie Matt Ryan, and he stayed consistent for 10 years. Our franchise could have gone tragically left after the Michael Vick situation, but it didn't. Thank you, Matt., If it wasn't for Tom Brady, Falcons would have won their first super bowl with an MVP Matt Ryan.

The QB is the heart of the team.
The heart pumps blood to rest of the body. Similarly, the QB distributes the ball to the rest of the offence.
So, comparing QBs to other QBs has never made much sense to me.
If the QB you have (e.g. Trent Dilfer) can get you to a Super Bowl, then there is no reason to covet other QBs.
Trying to replace an effective QB because you think 'you need more" is like opting for cardiac surgery because the heart of a professional athlete is available for transplant.
Somebody needs to tell these GMs this is the way to deal with QBs:
1. Do not pay a QB who hasn't won or played for a Super Bowl. Use the franchise tags. It is cheaper.
2. If you draft a QB, and he doesn't get you to a Super Bowl within 5 years of him being the starter, then you need to start planning for franchise tags and a replacement either with the draft or free agency.
Why?
Because if you draft a QB, and you make him a starter, and he does not win his 1st Super Bowl within 5 years of being the starter, then he will probably not win you a Super Bowl, and you will have a better chance with a free agent (if the team is 1 QB away from a realistic chance to win the Super Bowl).

Mike Vick brought excitement to the team, but there was no consistency. Matt Ryan, for the majority of his career was plagued with a carousel of OCs, bad O-line, weak run game, and a bottle of the barrel defense. Julio was always hurt and contributed only about 1/3 of Ryans passing stats. He definitely doesn't get the respect that he deserves. Matty ICE, is the greatest QB in Falcons history and one of the top 10 in NFL history. #riseup

Tell me who In their right mind is throwing the ball on 1st and 2nd and then running it on third when up by 25. And the field goal that would have won us the game got put on hold cause of a holding penalty that pushed us out of field goal range.

Matt Ryan is the only QB in history to take a bottom tier defense to a Super Bowl as well as turn a bottom tier offense into a top 10 offense for over a decade. The falcons were trash and never had back to back winning seasons until he came to the Falcons. The years we had a good defense we were 13-3 both seasons. I’ve never seen any QB to have to consistently take awful defenses to the playoffs
