When you’re building a pit bike, the size and weight of an adult rider on a small bike drives a lot of the modifications. Today, we’re concentrating on the weight, and that means upgrading the rear shock spring on our KLX110.
We’ve chosen a BBR replacement rear spring for our KLX, and that will add enough load-bearing capacity.
In this video, John will walk you through how to replace the rear shock spring on your KLX110 step-by-step. We’ll remove the seat and gas tank so we can disconnect the shock. With that done, John will introduce you to a Motion Pro rear shock spring compressor that we’ll use to get the old spring off and get the new, beefier BBR spring installed.
Once that’s done, we’ll get the shock back on the bike.
