I was so happy we brought him back in exchange for Wiseman. #1 pick or not, GP2 is my favorite Warrior (besides Steph of course). Love watching him play on this team.
This dude’s story is so heartwarming. I’m glad he found a home in Dub nation. I love watching him put on a defensive masterclass each and every night. Kerr trusts this guy to close out games which is an amazing accomplishment for a guy who could barely get signed a few years ago. High flying dunks and pesky, effective defense. His game is so fun to watch.
Him, draymond and wigs took care of boston's ofense explosions in that finals while steph was excellent on ofense. Looking forward for a rematch which could happen with an improved celts team. Most may think of denver vs celts/bucks but don't count out gs just yet
Love GP2, he is my 3rd favorite Warrior after Draymond and Steph. I even picked up his jersey as soon as they released it, was so bummed when he was released. So glad to have him back. Way better than Wiseman.
Warriors need to do a GP2 headband giveaway night. Dub nation needs to show that man all the love. A packed chase center with everyone rocking a white GP2 headband would be amazing
to go from worst defense to best defense based on one 6'2" player is absolutely an amazing stat and player. One of favorite NBA players, guard with big man skills, a good attitude and near-permanent smile.
I love that guy. I had a game similar to him but definitely NOT the skillset he has. It's fcking amazing to see him play defense in a NBA where defense is not rewarded as much as offense.
GP2 is my second favorite Warrior at this point. I've never been a fan of dunks but DAMN that dude is fun to watch. First of all it looks like he's actually flying and I'd swear he can actually video game double-jump, second he throws it down like a f'ing hammer every time. And his defense! It's an insult that he's never even mentioned in DPOY conversations.
I just hope GPII takes care of his health as we need him until the end of the season. It's going to be a big blow if he gets injured before or during the playoffs. I'm not going to be surprised if cp3 gets injured and would not be able to play at the end. These two has got to watch out and Kerr needs to take care of them.
Man GP2 really knows how to play defense, learned from one of the best defensive players ever in his Dad of course but man I love how strong his is at his base! (Pause not Glaze). But that’s how you play great defense stand your ground. Don’t matter how much more taller a player is than you.
GP2 is that guy that’s on your team and at first you question his game a little and then you end up loving him because he’s does everything the team needs
CP3 and GP2---Two Star Wars-like characters with serious game! And much needed court awareness and defensive capabilities, respectively. bring it on, but it would also be nice to get a fearsome big man to rule the paint.
That quote from Steph shows how amazing GP2 is. We all hear from other players like JR Smith (How he tell story about Delli guarding Steph) and DeAaron Fox about guarding Steph. And for Steph to say that to GP? It just shows how amazing GP2 is defensively.
I love GPII and it’s great that he’s getting recognized for his awesome contributions. His game his so fun to watch. Definitely he’s a top 3 Warrior for me
I really hope a documentary gets made on the Paytons: I would love to know what growing up with The Glove as your dad and role model for GP2's career was like.
the bag that poole got really decreased the chances of key players signing again becuse of salary cap between teams, i knew bad thigs were going to happen when i saw that contract...
@@ricardoespinal8366 yeah if only we’d dumped Poole and kept GP2, the traded Wiseman for more talent… instead signed Poole, lost GP2 for nothing, traded Wiseman asset to get GP2 back, and traded Poole for CP3. We could have GP2, CP3, AND whatever we could get for Wiseman.
GP2 is like a unicorn, only in reverse. We all have heard about big man having guard skills, but a guard having bigman skills and actually fulfilling the role of a big man on offense? How many other players in the league has that kind of unique skillset? GP2 is a unicorn, simple as that.
I only saw a few full games of his father as a kid, and most of which I don't have perfect memory of. I'm curious to see when compared who the better defender actually is. (Don't get emotionally invested in Sr.'s pedigree, he clearly was better offensively. Just talking defensively here). GP2 seems on pace for 1st team All Defense and possible DPOY qualifications.
Senior, also known as "The Glove" was a 1x DPOY, 9x NBA All-Defensive First Team, 9x NBA All star. GP2 is still active though and , for me, I'm just enjoying what he does, both offensively and defensively, for the warriors.
I call him GP4! He was my favorite player on the last championship team, and I think my favorite defensive player of all time. I liked pead Dennis Johnson with the Sonics too, but GP4 is the most incredible defensive player I've ever seen. It's hard for a guy to be my favorite player on a team with Steph and Wiggins at his best, but I absolutely love watching the guy play.
In-game work ethics of GP2 reminds me of Dennis Rodman. Both do everything for their teams and got not selfishness at all. They're one of the best defenders in their leagues, but pretty different physically, although their athleticism is nearly the same.
Jason timpf talked about playing gp2 in college. He was an all conference PG and sees the game as a floor general. That's explains his anticipation and his ability to see what the ball handler is going to do. Gp2 is really the glove
Gp2 had 96 steals in the 22 regular season. The top guy has 138 but also has 2400 minutes total playtime. Gp2 only guy in the 90+ with 1200 minutes played.
I was so happy we brought him back in exchange for Wiseman. #1 pick or not, GP2 is my favorite Warrior (besides Steph of course). Love watching him play on this team.
Totally w you!
Watched Wiseman last night,he's literally 7 feet for no reason. I'm so glad the Warriors got rid of him
Facts!!!! Just watching him play makes me happy his story is crazy
Wiseman is the number 2 pick
Gp2 is a warrior forever 💙💛
He’s a positive aura guy. Never seen the dude mad. Always gives 100% effort. Great energy cheering off the bench.
Is he as good as his father? No. Is he still a damn good player? Yessir he is
@@sgrey9181 are you a hater? yes bros career aint even over. How many point you got in the nba?

GP2s defense and just pure hustle is underrated for sure

Great observation. Totally agree.
If and when Dray, Wiggs, and Kuminga are playing at an elite level defensively. It going to be a wrap.
A 6’2 Lob Threat 🤣🤣🤣
Been watching the Warriors for a very long time and been a fan my whole life. GPII is easily one of my favorite Warriors on my list!
He’s amazing! So glad he’s back!
Young glove is one of the best throwback nicknames ever
I love that guy. I had a game similar to him but definitely NOT the skillset he has. It's fcking amazing to see him play defense in a NBA where defense is not rewarded as much as offense.
Most Valuable Payton 💙💛💙💛💙💛💙
The way GP2 jumps is beautiful. It's like he's on a trampoline

Name a better duo than cp3 and playoff injury. Ill wait.

GP2 is also probably the most humble guy in the NBA. He cares about the fans and helping out the refs with the ball. Littlest things

glad that u took time to appreciate the young glove. He's is really the greatest role player of the warriors

GP2 is an effective defender.
GP2 is that guy that’s on your team and at first you question his game a little and then you end up loving him because he’s does everything the team needs
He has to make an All-Defensive team this season.
That would be soooooooo kooooool!

Payton 2 So much fun to watch you! So fast running to the net and your dunk. Please hold on to the net and also your 3 pointers ❤️

Awesome content. Fun, informative, I had to rewind and smile over and over. Thank you.
Bring back memories. Like his father. Seattle Supersonics. Gary Payton. The Gloves.

I am glad he back wearing his O number

Bruh, since I saw dude play knew he was special. So glad we got him back. He’s the only player I LOVE watching on defense
Dribble at your own risk.
Okay, changing D rating from 30th (absolute worst) to 1st (absolute best) ALL ON YOUR OWN is absolutely crazy!! 😮❤🎉🎉
I was Elated when they brought him back and pissed when they let him go. Def. one of my favorite Warrior.
I so love your Warriors videos you create. Thank you. 🙏
All-Defensive
GP2 gives me shivers. We are witnessing greatness.
Like father like son, it'd be awesome to see him win DPOY.
Yes! I am wishing this too
So happy he recovered enough from the abs injury! Now he's playing at full power and it's shows in the box scores!
It’s a shame we let him go, and had to trade wiseman for him (just because we could have gotten maybe somebody else for wiseman AND kept GP2).
the bag that poole got really decreased the chances of key players signing again becuse of salary cap between teams, i knew bad thigs were going to happen when i saw that contract...

The best defender ina League
Defensive, intelligent, high-energy players like GP are the best!!! They impact the game without needing the ball.
Reminds me a bit of what iggy provided for the warriors he’s definitely a vital part of the team

GP II will be the key to another Warriors championship this year. And CP3 coming off the bench. This is going to be another fun year.
Dude, that's the Glove genes right there 👏👏
He's the reason why basketball is beautiful
Fox, Payton, Kuminga, Holmgren, Joker. I would move to that city just to see that team.
In-game work ethics of GP2 reminds me of Dennis Rodman.
Both do everything for their teams and got not selfishness at all. They're one of the best defenders in their leagues, but pretty different physically, although their athleticism is nearly the same.
A 6.2 Jumping Jack with elite defence and IQ. The defensive stat with him off the court is crazy though.
Hope he gets all defence this year ❗️ what a guy
He will be so important for us getting back to a top defensive team and winning ways

also love GP2 in interviews, because, you know, he's just so, you know, likeable.
Underrated. Wow didn't know he is that valuable to the team. Wow.
I hope to see more GP2 videos. He's awesome to watch.
I hope we get 2 NBA All-Defensive team award from Draymond and GP2 this year.
Him and Loon are the perfect example of owning your roles. 🔥
Legit little giant vibes 😂. Ninja Shoyo would be proud
Talk about a fan favorite. I don't know a single Warriors fan who is not crazy about GP2.
in tribute to his father one of the greatest defenders in NBA history.
Ok th opt with him on and off the floor is absolutely the craziest thing ever, holy shit!
thanx for the content 7. GP is probably my favorite player, it was wiggins, but you know. be blessed and safe
the honey badger of NBA, too OP man.
He’s going to have a crazy good career being a Nash-like assistant coach once he’s done playing in the league
Gp2 is the hardest working defensive player in the whole NBA and I'm glad he's back
This team is ready for it's next championship🏆
Gp2 is my 3rd fave in GS

We simply cant win another championship without GP2 or a near perfect replacement for GP2 in case he get injured
great clip & analysis homie@
You didn’t even show him manhandling Jokic multiple times in the 2022 playoffs!
Him blocking Jokic at 6'2 was one of the most impressive thing to see during that playoff run.
N his ability to shoot 3s and fetching alleyhoop..this guy is amazing!!
he is one of the best defenders in recent years.
He is a great fit for Golden State
God knows wtf they was thinking in letting this man go last season 🤷♂️
One of the du m best
moves the warriors could have possibly done. Glad to see they realized their mistake though.
GP2 truly belongs with the warriors. I love watching him play his heart out....
My man gotta get the dpoy award man, hes deserving it
He's the nice version of his Pops. GP1 would lock you down and tell you about it during the game. GP2 just does it with a smile.
I Love gp2 for the warriors.. beside Steph . Gp2 is very humble and fit to thewarriors..
I will never forget the sound of gp2 s dunk against Minnesota
Very well put together
Other teams slept on him and even the Warriors tried to, but came to their senses.
Gp2, fill the void Iggy left on the team. He is their new swiss army knife
I love gp2 playing at warrior's ❤❤ he was so incredible
GPII underrated fasho! 7Man thx for the vid.

Gp2 has played extremely well thus far he looks healthy and sharp to get there defense back on track.🏀
He really does change everything on the court
