    When a disaster such as an earthquake occurs, mobile phone lines may be disrupted and cannot be used. That's why there are still public telephones, although the number has decreased. It can be used in emergencies 😊

    There are many travelogue videos of foreigners in Japan, but I think this is one of the best.
    The Japanese subtitles are quite accurate and very enjoyable.
    The reason public telephones still exist is that Japan is prone to natural disasters, and they provide a means of communication in the event that cell phones stop working.
    The recent summer has been hard for Japanese people as well. Especially this year, it lasted day after day.
    However, by mid-September, we will have a very pleasant autumn.
    Please come back in October or November. You can see beautiful autumn leaves in Kyoto.
    Let's put it on our list of places we want to visit twice!

    Love this! Love that you 2 enjoyed Tokyo! One thing about the payphones, we have small children going to school by themselves everywhere usually lower grade elementary school children are not allowed to have phones, not to mention a huge population of elderly who are not good with technology so that explains why payphones are still everywhere!

    Nice video! I head over to Japan in 2 weeks and I was a bit nervous to bring out my gimbal at places but its not as packed as I thought it would be. Also, I always thought it was not ideal to pull out the camera in subways but you guys seem like you did it without any eyes on your or security harassing. At around 13:30 i noticed there's some wind in the subway being picked up on the mic. Does the Lav pick it up or is that the camera mic? I was thinking of buying those wireless lavs but I already have 2 wired ones.

    • @ChangingLocations
      @ChangingLocations  Рік тому +1

      Thanks! No issue with cameras as long as you're respectful and quiet. Most people are generally either friendly or just don't care. Police and security are also totally chill, nothing like you'd see in the US.
      Re the wind, it must have been the lav, because the camera mic was disabled. It was a really windy train station. These mics are mostly reliable but we definitely lost some footage because of the mics not transmitting audio 😒 It may be because the wire is too tight that connects the receiver and the camera, but not sure tbh.

    • @ChessBoxin
      @ChessBoxin Рік тому

      @@ChangingLocations that's awesome to hear! Besides the audio interference 😕 I think I saw that there can be interference with signal when people walk in-between the lab and signal but other than that I'm not sure. I don't own one just my research. Thanks for the info! I can't wait to go in a week!

    Hello I am Japanese.
    There is a reason why there are pay phones in Japan.
    Japan is a country with many natural disasters.
    When a disaster occurs, many public phones are still in use in urban areas because they are used when many people use cellular phones at the same time and the signal cannot be received, or when the signal base is damaged due to a disaster.
    I don't understand English, so I apologize if my writing is strange.
    Thank you very much for the fun video!
