I was surprised how deeply you learned about Japan before the trip!(I'm Japanese) And you were so respectful to local people, which also impressed me!! subscribed to you and looking forward to seeing another video of countries around the world❤
Thank for tuning in! We can see Japan is extremely clean and the people really love their country. We hope you get to visit NYC one day! You'll enjoy it, the city is totally full of life and energy.
When a disaster such as an earthquake occurs, mobile phone lines may be disrupted and cannot be used. That's why there are still public telephones, although the number has decreased. It can be used in emergencies 😊
Great video. Currently planning my Japan trip for next year. Just deciding between spring or fall. Loved the contrast between Tokyo and New York subways. 😂
Thank you for video. Tokyo, summer is almost full of sunshine snd blue sky but too hot to take walking outdoor. There are still wired public phones for emergency (earthquake or for old people).
The two pieces of bread goes perfect with the fried chicken that you can also get at the convenience store! Also, the single egg thing: I'm almost positive it looks like a soft-boiled egg, not a regular egg.
There are many travelogue videos of foreigners in Japan, but I think this is one of the best. The Japanese subtitles are quite accurate and very enjoyable. The reason public telephones still exist is that Japan is prone to natural disasters, and they provide a means of communication in the event that cell phones stop working. The recent summer has been hard for Japanese people as well. Especially this year, it lasted day after day. However, by mid-September, we will have a very pleasant autumn. Please come back in October or November. You can see beautiful autumn leaves in Kyoto. Let's put it on our list of places we want to visit twice!
Love this! Love that you 2 enjoyed Tokyo! One thing about the payphones, we have small children going to school by themselves everywhere usually lower grade elementary school children are not allowed to have phones, not to mention a huge population of elderly who are not good with technology so that explains why payphones are still everywhere!
I was laughing for 1 min! I was not going to write, but I can't I can't. OMG New York subway is awesome!! I'm dying.. I'm in middle so will watch again. Welcome! .・🌸
Nice video! I head over to Japan in 2 weeks and I was a bit nervous to bring out my gimbal at places but its not as packed as I thought it would be. Also, I always thought it was not ideal to pull out the camera in subways but you guys seem like you did it without any eyes on your or security harassing. At around 13:30 i noticed there's some wind in the subway being picked up on the mic. Does the Lav pick it up or is that the camera mic? I was thinking of buying those wireless lavs but I already have 2 wired ones.
Thanks! No issue with cameras as long as you're respectful and quiet. Most people are generally either friendly or just don't care. Police and security are also totally chill, nothing like you'd see in the US. Re the wind, it must have been the lav, because the camera mic was disabled. It was a really windy train station. These mics are mostly reliable but we definitely lost some footage because of the mics not transmitting audio 😒 It may be because the wire is too tight that connects the receiver and the camera, but not sure tbh.
@@ChangingLocations that's awesome to hear! Besides the audio interference 😕 I think I saw that there can be interference with signal when people walk in-between the lab and signal but other than that I'm not sure. I don't own one just my research. Thanks for the info! I can't wait to go in a week!
We paid only a FRACTION to fly from NYC✈️Japan! Did you see the video of how we figured out the travel hack? ➡️ ua-cam.com/video/B_p-NUH7WcQ/v-deo.htmlsi=Ty5xmiqNLQhv58vj
Hello I am Japanese. There is a reason why there are pay phones in Japan. Japan is a country with many natural disasters. When a disaster occurs, many public phones are still in use in urban areas because they are used when many people use cellular phones at the same time and the signal cannot be received, or when the signal base is damaged due to a disaster. I don't understand English, so I apologize if my writing is strange. Thank you very much for the fun video!
When it comes to japan, only big cities are spotted. But there are 47 prefectures and each one of them has unique culture. I recommend my lovely hometown Yamagata
Ooo, that's a good tip! And we did check out Rikugien gardens (on a very hot day!), it's so peaceful and beautiful there. We wanted to come back and experience it during the spring hopeful. We will have to check out Saekano to see for ourselves!
19:44 Thanks for enjoying Japan! But that trash can is for bottles only. They say Japan is a plastic-rich country, but it is also one of the best recycling countries in the world.
Public telephones are available in case the internet becomes unavailable due to a natural disaster. It was useful for confirming the safety of families during the Great East Japan Earthquake.
$1k usd to stay in tokyo for a week? That is cheap. It cost me 300,000yen for just a plane ticket to fly to LA. Dude that guy wearing a hard hat on top of a microwave hat got me. Is this really planet earth??? Wow, you have guts to take on your fears straight on. My phobia are roaches. 14:56 When you hear cicadas in japan, know that you are in a hot time.
Luckily we figured out a way to travel hack to Japan and cut out the massive cost of flying! We talked about that in the video just before this one 🙂 NYC subway is something else... especially compared to how clean and quiet it is in Tokyo. We could never imagine microwave man on the Yamanote line 🤣
Japan has so many earthquakes that there is a risk that the internet will be cut off in an emergency. For this reason, public telephones are still installed at major stations. It's just my imagination. ...(Translate by Google)
Thank you for the great video👍 Just like New York, Japan is heading into winter In recent years, summer has become extremely hot, so I don't recommend going there in the summer☀️ Please come again this time between winter and spring☃️
That conbini egg would be good in a cup ramen. There is a beautiful garden oasis near where you are staying called Rikugien Gardens. It is popular during sakura blossoms season but is gorgeous at any time. For those who are fans of the anime Saekano the european style house there is Eriri's home.
It's true that Japan's trains are quiet, but recently there has been an increase in the number of annoying foreigners who come to Japan to make fun of Japan, so there is a high possibility that someday they will become like New York's subways. *Of course, this video is different.
We have been following the news of what's happening in Japan and we are saddened by it. Creators like that always make it bad for everyone. I hope it never turns into NYC on the subway. The Japanese people would never allow it ❤️
There were directions/signs to not drink the water so we wouldn't rinse our mouths with it either. The face wash was very refreshing and well needed in the Japanese summer sun ☀️
Interesting. But your music overlays are too much. We can't hear what you are saying. The real problem may be your microphone needs better insulation. Foam cover.
Hey, thanks for tuning in, we are working our way up to better mics and vlogging equipment. (Our camera is also trash) This is our 8th video on youtube and we are still learning. There is always some room for improvement and we hope to improve our editing, equipment and presentation as we get more practice in.

Japanese convenience stores change merchandise really frequently. The egg bun you bought was fresh that day:guaranteed.
It absolutely was because I bought it and enjoyed it. We just have bad experience with 7 eleven on the US. But this was different.
thank you for coming japan! とても楽しんでくれていてうれしいです♡日本にはほかにも京都や大阪、北海道から沖縄まで楽しいところがたくさんあるのでまた遊びに来てくださいね
Thank you, we felt very welcome and we love Japan ❤️ we will be back soon!
Tokyo is truly one of the most impressive cities on Earth! We have so much more to do and discover here 🇯🇵 What was your favorite part of this video?
Very good video. It has given me some cool ideas for my first trip to Tokyo in less than three weeks time.

Thanks for tuning in! We learned to try to go out later in the day because Tokyo is crazy hot in the summer. Thanks for the tip re the phones!
when non-japanese came to convenience store i recommend tuna rice ball and monaka ice cream and famichiki and calpis soda or doutor coffee.😊

such a nice vlog! What camera do you use for filming?
Thank you! We use a Canon EOS M50 but tbh we wouldn't really recommend it. It's a bit older and we are looking to upgrade soon.
