This show was wonderfully written, casted and acted with such intriguing characters - it really set a standard for daytime Soaps. The whole Rachel-Mac-Iris dynamic lent itself to such memorable scenes and dialogue that just wouldn’t have worked without these 3 wonderful actors. And wow I’d forgotten how much of each episode Victoria carried - she worked very hard but never shiwed the strain. Bravo 👏👏👏
I love the way even if you were a long time viewer, having missed some episodes,or watching for the first time ever, the writers had a way of getting you up to speed on storylines, whether current or foundational.
@@nancyericson4263 I could be mistaken because I'm old but I believe they married each other 4 times and were separated more times than even God can remember. Lol
P&G could make $$ if they streamed whatever still exists of AW/ATWT/GL. The issue is they would record over older episodes due to the cost of video tape in the 1960s/1970s, so P&G would need to open the vault and see what they really have from the late 1970s until the end of each show.
It never felt right, or looked right, and I never understood why it was cast this way. Iris also called her father "Mac" -- making the relationship even more confusing and weird. She was more like a mistress.
Oh yeah the new cory mansion with the stairs is definitely way better and more homey and has so much more light then the old cory estate.. this 1 is just 2 dark it has no life. It's ironic how much less fights that mac and rachel had once they got and updated the new cory estate. Nice. It just seems more lively. But as always AW. Rocks
I loved when they updated the Cory home in the late 1980s. If you look closely, they used the entrance and flooring to the county club from 1984-1985 as the new foyer when the remodeled the Cory home in 1988. In fact, the show never wrote the 1988 remodel into the storyline. They used Sam and Mitch's mother Loretta to show us the new living room and foyer as she wandered through by herself.
I don't think the writers focused on John Randolph's death very long. By that point, Harding Lamay was gone, and it was really about setting up the new characters for the Texas spinoff. I think it was a mistake not to have more residents in Bay City visit Texas. Other than Brian Bancroft and Vivian, no one else crossed-over, and both shows were shot in the same production facility in Brooklyn... Texas might have survived longer if it was a bit more tied to Another World (similar to how Y&R and B&B have been).
This actor playing Ted appeared in a very good horror movie I believe before another world where he thinks he is a vampire or something his charecter comes back from the Vietnam War and something happens to his charecter I have the movie but it's been awhile since I've watched it I have such a collection of movies that I forgot the name of the film but it's pretty good
Thanks I forgot the name of the movie I thought Richard made a good Ted replacing the original actor Eric Robert's although i also liked the third actor who played Ted later in 1983

I used to love this soap. I would still watch if it was still running.
Victoria was one of my favorite actress 's on daytime TV. Amazing.
She was excellent. Never hammy, never over the top. She always gave controlled, disciplined, believable performances.
I discovered Beverlee McKinsey on Guiding Light in 1991 when I was 14. She’s just incredible. It’s great to see her as Iris on Another World.
she was the all time best
"Word is bound to get out now that Liz Matthews knows"...summarizes Another World in the 70s!! LOL

true enough
@@leeeatmon5176 🙂
That is true
"I notice your spirits tend to rise in direct proportions to the troubles people have." What a wonderfully written line!!
This is truly brilliant. The writing and acting was the best.
Bev and Vicky were fabulous
This had been one of the very best Mac and Rachel fights ever
How many times did they break up? Surely not as many as Victor and Nikki on Y & R.
@@nancyericson4263 I could be mistaken because I'm old but I believe they married each other 4 times and were separated more times than even God can remember. Lol
Another World was the best in the 1960's and 1970's It was like going to the theatre
Yes indeed
I always found it curious the set up of the Cory manse set. We never saw the front door. Clever though we saw people coming and going as we did.
I wish the old soaps would come back in reruns.

@17:18 when iris turned to Rachel and said...."or what?" With that smirk on her face was awesome. Beverlee mckinsey owned that character.
Iris was quite a bitch on wheels!!!
Before Krystle and Alexis there was Rachel and Iris! Fantastic!!
Except this was so much better than crystal and Alexis
This "Another World" partial episode shows off Iris at her finest! Eddie, thank you for reuploading! :-)
It does. And it shows off why Iris was a better role for Beverlee McKinsey than Alexandra on GL was.
Everytime i talk to my plants, i think about Louise. Lol
Rachel got the taste of her own medicine with Iris.
THE world's best argument! I can't get enough!!! Thank you for bringing these wonderful episodes back - such terrific memories.
Aunt Liz was marvellous.
Douglass Watson was so handsome and cute
With great timing and comic flair!
I never understood Mac being Iris father.. they were the same age 😂😂
I know,right?😄Its hard to suspend belief,lol
Actually Watson was 14 years older than Beverlee McKinsey, but I get the point. Not a big age difference.
@@MRInvincible569 they way women dressed, their hair, their make up in the 1970s aged all of them. Iris was a victim to the styles of the 1970s.

Ted's hair!!!
It nice to see some of favorite old shows
This is my favorite soap opera
Mine to AW GL and ATWT were the best
I loved Iris's penthouse apartment set with the couch build into the stairs. We never saw much more than the couch and table.
I think the couch and table were used. When Iris moved to Texas
No one ever should, but *heh* Iris!
And no one should ever have to knock on the door of the home they paid for, but ... HERE’S MAAACCCCCCC!
He bought the house for Rachel and it was hers and they were separated during this time.
Mac was fantastic. Gone way too soon.
Iris was the best character ever, like the female JR. Beverlee McKinsey ruled!

Was there any mentions of John Randolph’s death around this time?
I think it was that day
I think was that day
@@chrisarnone9906 It was March 6th episode which also introduced the first 90 minute episode where John Randolph died.
@José Elias No, no. I meant like episodes when the Randolph’s and Matthews or other Bay City residence grieving for John.

Richard Backus who played Ted, starred in the horror movie, death dream. From Ms. Harper Stacey.
The horror movie, deathdream was also under another name called dead of night. From Ms. Harper Stacey.

Women were such ladies beck then. What happened?
I know really. Now they're nuts and sluts.
I know really now they're soccer moms yuck
That painting at iris home looks like princess Diana I wonder if anybody noticed it I'm sure that a painting of princess Diana
That blue dress that Iris is wearing looks like something a clown would wear.
Mac WAS a Playboy 3 kids with 3 different women ....and Rachel had 3 kids with 3 different men...... Im surprised they never tried swinging
