Even the old residence halls like Wiggins outclass the Graduate dorm at Purdue. I got an incredible experience academically at Purdue for Graduate School in CS. Outside of the program, Campus experience, residence hall, food options, counseling, Texas Tech outclassed Purdue University. At that time, Purdues CS and related programs just had more depth.
On the flip side, at Purdue, I took 2 graduate level classes on Parallel Architectures and because of the digital experience from people like James E Archer and Dr Vines, I and 3 CS students set the curve in the courses in the EE department at Purdue.
I attended Texas Tech 1983-1988 and Purdue 1988-1990.

Great vid. Reason I went to Tech was my friend's visited lubbock with me and loved campus and loved the people. So she said Tech is better school for me than U.T.

Great stuff, thanks. We toured campus on Monday, and really enjoyed it. Would really like to get your thoughts on what dorms are best for incoming freshman. Thanks!

Hey Mark! It’s Maky here :) Glad you enjoyed y’all’s campus tour!! All of our dorms are nice and would work, Stangle/Murdough is our most popular first year residence hall. I also highly recommend living in your learning community. Let me know if there are any other questions I can answer for you.

Hi! My son was accepted at TTU, and signed up for a LLC at Murdough. We live in New York and are scheduled for an in-person tour on 4/8. Since there probably is not a dorm tour because of COVID-19, can you do a tour of the dorms? We would really appreciate it! Thank you!!

Are families of students able to use the rec areas? Or just the student. I'm married with 3 kiddos.

Rec Center membership can be purchased for spouses and children of students at a pretty great rate! Check out the Rec Center website for the rates details (www.depts.ttu.edu/urec/membership/index.php). Also, the Rec membership includes the Leisure Pool, which is a big hit with kids! Best of luck on the interview - keep us posted!

Texas Tech is national disgrace. There's a reason why Texas Tech is sliding down the US Colleges and Universities Ranking every year by 10-15 places. Texas Tech graduation rate is 59%. One more time: Texas Tech GRADUATION RATE IS 59%. That means that 41% of students don't graduate. Why is the Department of Education not auditing a school like this? They would find obscene level of nepotism. Every faculty member and administrator's wife or husband is on the payroll. Texas Tech has the lowest publication rate among faculty in peer refereed journals. Diversity is zero. Every top administrator and department chair is white man or woman. Its a national embarrassment. Lot of faculty has "degrees" from diploma mills in foreign countries, 2nd and 3rd-tier schools with zero publications to their name. Graduate students are complaining for years about the low academics, which is now barely community college. This place is a shame on American education.

Texas Tech is a great place to go if you are a redneck, not academically inclined, and your favorite color is brown.
