    Duvall has always been one of my favorites, and I agree with him - no one should be told what or how to think. We are all individuals. Being an actor doesn't change that fact. Stifling thought stifles creativity. It makes us all more dull as human beings.

    • @KawafuchiSensei
      @KawafuchiSensei Місяць тому +1

      This keeps the use of footage as "fair use." By using the audio as well, the poster is at risk of having someone else claim monetization from any one of the clips on its own. Actually a smart move although frustrating for viewers!

    When I was just a kid watching an old program called Route 66, I spotted a young Robert Duvall, who was playing a drug addict in withdrawal.... Even at a young age I marveled at his portrayal and wondered, "Who IS this guy?!? Well after a lifetime of enjoying his performances, I now know who that guy is, a true artist. As some here have said, a real actors actor.

    I think Duvall is a very thoughtful and respectable man. Much of what he said here is the reason my husband and I have seen only 3 first run movies since 1992. We have over 1100 movies on DVD, but the vast majority of them were made before 2000.

    I think it’s obvious why it collapsed if you seen any recent movies. Scripture written note for interesting Contant but for diversity actors are picked for parts not because they are good actors but because of diversity, movies and television shows are not being made because they are well done an interesting but for diversity… division by color by religion by political affiliation, has destroyed the country, so Hollywood is affected as well…!

    He's also a man of character and dignity.
    Francis Ford Coppola made a huge mistake by not paying Duvall to portray Tom Hagen in The Godfather III. That's why it sucked!
    There aren't very many individuals of substance like Duvall left in Hollywood today.

    " I HAVE MY MY WEALTH, MY HEALTH ...what a bout yourself ...? " a direct quote from his mouth in TRUE CONFESSIONS (1980) ; among his best roles evvuhhh besides having deNiro, Durning as ..accomplices in creating one of the most accurate, period-credible & topnotched postnoirs by an even more 4gotten director Ulu Grosbard (of the STRAIGHT TIME 1978 w Hoffman) as similarly neglected mini-masterpiece of the seedy side of LA wayback in the 40s and 70s. Durning was declared as "Layman Of The Year" in two double entedre meanings in the murder-wrapped, catholic corruption film which remains virtually unrecognized despite its immense noir-historic value.
