Want that car so bad. Did some SCCA Pro Rally back in the day when Buffum ran. Certainly was not in his class though. Just a stock 510 and some Saabs. Brings back great memories. Thanks for posting.
I believe I saw this car compete at the Nova Scotia Highlands Rally in 1979 or 1980. I certainly saw other TR7s and 8s driven by Canadian legends like Jean-Paul Peruse and Walter Boyce. The memory of the exhaust note echoing through the forest still sends shivers down my spine!
It’s a period and current performance single pipe exhaust system, where noise is a secondary concern. 😮 Dual pipe’s with 2 boxes down each side were the factory fitment.

Why would it only have a single exhaust out the back - was that how they came out stock?
