No one understands. Brass doesn’t get any better. Trust me. I’ve heard nearly every popular ensemble on this planet in the free world, and this is the last one you ever need to listen to. The Germans got it right and have been blessed by the Lord with their musical creativity. It just doesn’t get better.
No such thing as "best", each group has their own charm, and each audience member their own taste. I enjoy many groups just as much, especially european brass bands like the Cory Band/Black Dyke Mills
So glad it's getting close to Christmas so I can listen to this performance in continuous loop mode and people don't think I'm crazy. Best rendition available. Thanks EuroArts for posting it!
Absolutely fabulous tone, intonation, articulation, and execution--I'm a big fan of the old Empire Brass, but I don't know if I've ever heard a better brass ensemble!
Well that was fabulous. Love the Christmas Oratorio and particularly enjoyed the phrases from "O Haupt voll Blut und Wunden" which is Bach's reminder of what is to come after we get the Baby Jesus out of our system. Ach, I sound like an insufferable DMA (you know who you are). Most interesting to me was I started this video (got the link from a friend) then went off to work on other electronic things, and, not seeing the video, I could have sworn it was accompanied by strings! That's brilliant playing where this is the result! Excellent! Kudos! Look at me I snuck in some Greek, too. Doubly insufferable. Triply insufferable closing in Latin: SDG. Merry Christmas all you brass weenies out there! Time for hot cocoa!
I just shared this with some colleagues, and before I did I put the title into google translate. According to google translate, the English translation of the title is "Now you are probably smelled." Can anyone confirm or correct this??
Back again for another Christmas season to listen to Matthias! Anyone else revisiting this piece?
ABSOLUTELY!!!!!
I saw Matthias Höfs live on Tuesday and got an autograph 😊
@@nerdtronaut Very envious!

I always said that there is no brass ensemble în the entire world like German Brass and no trumpeter like Matias Hofs!

Far beyond beautiful. Absolute perfection is every way. I have no trouble believing your assertion that brass doesn't get any better.

Matthias Höfs. Einer der besten Trompeter jemals. Soooo gut gespielt.
Wonderful! Amen❤

No words, just amazing

I love the natural 3 second reverb of the venue!
absolute precise and dedicated.
einfach fantastisch gespielt.. bravi tutti
Uma das mais belas composições de Bach!

Perfect.
The best bit is the bit that goes 'duh du du duh du du duh'
der Wahnsinn, mega Hammer
calming our chaos
BESTIal... ❤❤❤🇪🇦🇪🇦🇪🇦
Matthias Höfs amazing!
Meisterlich
Brillante!!!
Beautiful and well done.
Un bravo a la trompeta.
I like this part of the composition very much, but with this interpretation, it is superb!

"Youngstars"...(die sicher auch gut spielen)
Wovon redest du eigentlich
Brilliant
also in the summer a nice song!! :)
UNA PRECIOSIDAD
No one said Dwight Schrute would be on trumpet killing it
♥️
Im remember my house...

Not really. Literally "gerochen" means "smelled".
But here it could mean "justified" or "avenged".
It is an antiquated participle of "rächen" which means "avenged". And "wohl" can mean "probably" but also (relevant in this context) "well".

Sehr güt
Christ born, and-----brass sounding out praises!!!!

Unbelievable
I'm watching this because my dearest friend sent it to me.
