    That was a great series! I loved every minute of it. I hope to see lots of outfit posting! Your videos really got me thinking about my own wardrobe. I was feeling really overwhelmed with the amount of clothes in my closet, but you gave me lots of ideas of how to see what is no longer working for me. I also came to the conclusion that it's ok to change my style up for warmer weather. I always enjoy a more boho style in summer and a sharper and more graphic style in the winter. I'm giving myself permission to be a little more fluid with my styles. Thank you for sharing this journey!

      I think there's so much fun in being able to play around with your style. Even though I enjoyed this process, and it gave me a lot of inspiration and ideas for my own wardrobe, I'm also looking forward to throwing it away at times and working on something completely different that excites me. Thanks for coming along on this silly little journey. 😉

    Loved this series! So well thought out and a great approach to planning your makes long term. I'm older but found Clark's shoes good for teaching/library footwear.
    Because of a midfoot injury, I now look for a more rigid footbed. I'm wearing Birkenstocks, but have had Danskos, Børn, and Josef Seibel sandals I've really liked. I will likely stick to clogs and sandals in my retirement!

    Your series has been fun to watch. It has got me thinking about my own wardrobe more objectively again. I did an in-depth analysis of my wardrobe a few years ago just before we retired but I think it's time to take a closer look again and assess my progress. We'll be downsizing our home in the next 2-4 years so it's time to make some decisions.

    • @LostMyThread
      @LostMyThread  3 місяці тому

      It is so tough to make those decisions. I definitely recommend waiting till you're in the right mood! I think our wardrobe is a continuously changing thing. It's worth reassessing on a regular basis because so much can change in our needs and wants. Good luck on your own journey!

    With regard to trousers - have you looked at the Emerson trousers from True Bias (I think) it's a flat front waistband with elastic at the back. They are VERY wide but you could slim the legs down. They have pleats but they're slim and stitched down at the top. Just want to say I love the title of your style - because I was at art school in the late 70s😂
    Ochre fabric - Minerva has a John Louden washed linen in a shade called ochre. As for shoes/boots - Hotter Shoes has some great flats that are very comfortable - hope any of this helps

    I know you're not looking for new patterns, but here are a few to keep in the back of your mind.
    For drapey blouses, check out the Fibre Mood Ermine Blouse and the Stitched in Wonderland Everyday Blouse. This one has bust cup sizes *and* a drafting line to raise or lower the bust point *and* beautiful sleeves.
    For swishy skirts suitable for rayon prints, check out the new Love Notions Caprice skirt or the StyleArc Sorrento skirt.
    I've loved following you on this journey!

    Have really enjoyed this series Theresa and it has made me think about my own wardrobe needs. I wear a lot of trousers and my body shape has been changing over the last couple of years so I need more comfortable trousers. I’m making the Iscaria trousers by Itch to Stitch, and bought the Caye pattern from Love Notions. But a new to me pattern I recently bought was the Equilibre trousers by Atelier Scammit. They are more fitted and a 7/8 leg but I love the silhouette of them. In terms of blouses with interesting sleeves Notches have the Dila pattern which has fab lantern sleeves, and Atelier Scammit have the Virevolte top and dress which has a frill you can add to the top of the sleeve. Happy fabric/ pattern hunting 🎉

    So nice series this is. I am in the same process with my wardrobe. I love your style board, it's quite similar to my closet. I was born in the early 60's so I like the fashion elements from the 60' and 70'. I hated the 80', and 90's the most. I am working on sewing similar items for my wardrobe. I would love to do velvet/velour for my wardrobe but not sure how that would work with my dog and cat since they lose hair just standing still not to mention that the love to lay all over me. I have some fabric I could work with. Maybe I will bring it out and see what happens.

    I bought some Keen closed toe sandals for walking and hiking in a red/brown color. They were comfortable from the get-go with no breaking in time. I have a lot more clarity on where I want to go with sewing for myself after this Me Made May. I love ochre for bottoms. I would like some in ochre, brown, and rust to coordinate with what I have. You are inspiring me not to just give up on footwear. I have very wide feet, always have always will. I struggle with finding cute shoes and instead of having a good focused search, I give up and wear my Hey Dudes. I do love the AGL ballet flats that I used to buy in the Nordstrom designer shoe section. I could walk all over campus in them without any trouble. They were pricey, but good quality shoes.

    What a great series! Very interesting to watch. I'd love to do something similar, but at the moment, I'm way too lazy! For comfortable shoes, I definitely recommend Clark's. They have both closed toe shoes and sandals. Their Cloudstepper sandals are the most comfortable I've ever worn. I wound up buying 3 pair and have not ruled out more. I think anything from their Cloudstepper line would be good. I also like Baretraps. I have some comfy sandals from them, and a few years ago I had some tall brown boots that required no breaking in. Born and Sofft are also good. I have friends who swear by Teva and Naot for sandals, but they don't work for me.

I've been wanting to make the Mitchell trousers since they came out but I haven't tried pants from Closet Core before, so I'm putting off making a muslin. For shoes, I've had many pairs of Ecco shoes, boots & sandals and they've lasted for many years and are very comfortable. I also have some Born shoes I wear a lot. I will say that a lot of the recommendations I've had tend to be online shoe shops. It appeals to me a whole lot less, but of course there's a lot more choice. Worst comes to worse, I can always return things. I really do appreciate your recommendations, though. At least if people have had good experiences themselves, I feel like I stand a decent chance of finding things that will work for me.
