  • In India tradition, Bhuma Devi, the goddess of the earth and consort of Lord Varaha is worshipped in patala loka. The earth we live and perish is hence revered and worshipped. After all, from the. land comes food, that which nourishes all living beings. And yet, have we extended the support she need?
In this piece, which broadly follows the ragam, taanam, pallavi paddhathi, Smt. Visalakshi Nityanand and Smt. Priyanka Raman are exploring and emoting to a Pahlavi set to Suddha Saveri whose Hindustani equivalent is incidentally the name of a mother Goddess Durga.
Specially composed for the show Bhūmi, artists are trying to question how can one cause the harm we all fell guilty of causing to the very land we worship as a mother!
    Supported by:
Achyuthan Sasidharan Nair on the Violin
    Vickneswaran Ramakrishnan on the Tabla
    Prakash Mayakrisnen on the Mridangam
Navien and Pravin on the Tampura.
