Brandon making accommodations for all his employees, regardless of religious affiliation or lack thereof. World needs more bosses like him
No joke, I’ve thought about applying for his company just because it seems like a legitimate company with reasonable people.
Yes and no.
I like the sentiment, a lot! But the mandatory taking a day off does not sit quite right with me - can't really say why though... I like it, the intent is the right one. But still, one can't say no if one really don't want to take a day off.
But it might be one of these things where there is no real tuely correct answer possible.

As someone who was raised religious and left the church about a decade ago, this is SUCH a refreshing take. Allowing your religious beliefs to be used to further respect EVERYONE is absolutely brilliant. Love it.
Brandon is such a wonderful role-model. A great father/husband, a great boss, & always looking out for the little guy. He's always trying to make the world a kinder and fairer place.
As a former member of a rather strict religion, I respect the inclusion of all religions/non-religions in your policy! I admire your transparency and care for others in your business practices.
I work in a religiously diverse environment. I really appreciate extending all people the same level of care

Most employers: We're not going to give time off because we need all hands on deck at all times.

As a religious person, as a member of the church, and from a logical perspective, I love the way you think through things. Religion really can be about finding rest and I think that it why there is no letter of the law to keeping the sabbath day holy. It tends to be up to personal application because the whole point of that commandment is spiritual in nature. Love this 💛

He's said previously that this is a "routine" stop and to not expect anything from it. "Hollywood things" take an immense amount of time, and we're nowhere close to an adaptation being greenlit. I'm excited too, just don't hold your Breath. 😊

Brandon is a gem through and through. Love that one of my favorite authors continues a long trend of many other storied authors of being just a real pleasure to see succeed. The notion I have is that Brandon's dark vice is being able to hand out magic cards when goes to game stores and making people's day by handing out loner decks of his own favorite preset deck combinations. Especially if its fun community sourced joy...that sounds plausible to me.

I love the idea of making sure everyone can enjoy the convention and the city. Work travel generally tends to suck, because it's exhausting to spend so much time working and waiting to work, and then you generally don't even get to see the place you're at anyway. I once had a boss who had been to many amazing cities, and when I asked him what it was like, he would say "The conference rooms in China are a lot like the ones here."

It's amazing that you are so accommodating your religious fans! Unfortunately, this year C2E2 occurs right in the middle of the Jewish Holiday of Passover, so in addition to the regular Shabbat restrictions there will be virtually no time for me to attend on Sunday either. I understand that the Dragonsteel team are very busy with all the fantastic things they're currently working on, but if there is some way that Brandon could come to the Midwest on another weekend, it would mean the world to the Jewish observant Sanderfans.
Will you still be able to attend Friday before sundown?
@@ephraimcullen It will be very difficult to attend and also juggle the weekly Shabbat preparations that must be finished before sundown. Passover also starts the previous Monday night (22nd) and ends the following Tuesday (30th), so it's not an ideal weekend in either direction.
B. Swift looking glamorous today.
Glad they changed the way signings work, I was in Tampa last year and they told us the doors closest to his booth were not going to open, so we moved and then they opened said doors and there was a stampede to his booth and when we got there, running, the tickets where already gone. Turns out VIP already had gotten most of the tickets.....

Having worked in financial services where many jobs have a required contiguous 2 weeks off for business continuity purposes, I always thought that more companies should have required time off. The problem with voluntary time off is that many people feel like they have to choose between "doing a good job" and taking vacation, and forcing it lets them feel like they are doing both at the same time.
