The horn 42 had is probably what made it unique. Nothing else can beat that sound of its K5. May this unit Rest In Peace. Hats off to all the Soldiers who fought for us.🫡
42 suffered from supposedly mechanical problems around 2020. And so, it was moved to Beech Grove, Indiana, and was quietly retired. It remains in storage at Beech Grove.
Ive only seen 42 3 times on the Empire Builder, thats it. Back then i thought she was the greatest thing ever, as i absolutely adored that stunning Veterans paint job
great catches and video of this hertige unit on the Surfline and the southwest chief great sky shot too towards the end to bad this hertige is naw gone these days because I saw it in a work shop yard area reedit to be gone too bad they didn't give this unit a replacement engine hopefully some day they will give it a replacement engine but I also saw an enteric engine waring a ventrines scheme too

They were my childhood. I had a heritage unit pull my surfliner train when I was 5
