- A Day in the Life of Tuscany, Italy
My Little House that I bought during the pandemic is located in Fivizzano, North Tuscany and considered the Florence of the Lunigiana. I bought here because the views are extraordinary with the Apennines mountains as my backdrop, along with the sounds of the church bells as my playlist and the beach and sea only 30 minutes away. The Lunigiana region is a historical territory of Italy between Liguria and Tuscany nestled between valleys that open at the foot of two mountain chains: Apennines and the Apuan Alps.
I’ve discovered that Fivizzano is full of music, art, lakes, waterfalls, historical performances, wonderful people and an easy place to hang my laundry! Plus, I visit nearby Cinque Terre - absolutely stunning - for the day as well as Cortona which many of us fell in love with after reading and watching ‘Under the Tuscan Sun’.
And what better way to finish off the day than checking out a new restaurant - Osteria Raccontadina on the Piazza Marzocco - just the ticket for Annette and I, topped off with biscotti and limoncello.

And one with the ugliest history.
I did this trip to Cortona for the Festival of the Sun about 15 years ago. I had a wonderful day, so wonderful that I almost missed the last train back to Florence, and as I stood alone on the platform under a flickering fluorescent light, listening to the crickets chirp, I felt like I was in a Fellini film.
What a wonderful town.👏🏻💐 I lived in Italy and Greece during my military service. Miss it so much. Folks would never ever be able to believe how nice the people living there are. Bless you, Julie.🥰
I live in Tuscany too, Carrara, but I was born in Pontremoli, so I know very well Fivizzano and all this locations. It’s beautiful to see that someone appreciates them so much🥺

These type of events are typical in Italy, I attended many of them along the years, it's part of the culture I could say, most villages are organizing them at least once a year! Loved it!

About 8 years ago I was debating if my husband and I could live in Italy. I looked online for fixer uppers, b/c I really wanted to do that. I LOVED Italy when I was there a long time ago on a tour. It takes a lot of money to live the life you wish...oh well I have many other blessings.
It's never too late to live your dreamy life🤗 actually there are very good prices for properties all over the country, due to the pandemic the prices are way lower than 8 years ago😉 cheers from Rome😁

I love the marble for your bathroom sink, the little round legs on the cabinet 😊❤. I love everything old so we would never be sick of watching videos at the reclaimed store or flea market. I love that all the places you went with your daughter had beautiful clear clean water. Oh and your daughter is such a cutie. Thank you Julie🙏have never seen the Cinque Terre so empty!! We sailed there every summer, but not since 2019😔 They are all worth it, but we usually ended up in Vernazza, where there is a restaurant in the Castle overlooking the bay with all the boats at anchor in the sea below🤩👍

Oh my goodness is correct! Totally a hoot watching this. Appreciate your sharing the culture, food, stories, and the wonderful views from your jaunt around Tuscany. Seeing a video like this helps motivate a person to get into the office, keep the business moving forward, and eventually reward myself with a visit to Italy. Your enthusiasm and excitement is fabulously catchy! And that light over the front door gives a sense of beauty, friendliness, and a lightness of being. It can remind us that the smallest of things, and the taking in of the vastness of detail, this is what can help make life such a peaceful and joyful experience. And Annette is priceless, and I can tell the two of you had a wee bit of adult beverage while enjoying conversation over dinner there ... lol. Great video. I was just in Milan and Lake Como, and the week I was on the Lake (26-31 July) was busy, but not crazy crowded like it would be normally. If you can find a silver lining to the present situation, that was definitely one of them. We did have some torrential rainstorms though….which were beautiful to watch.…though the storms played havoc with the road around the lake and even the ferry service (the Lake around Como filled with wood washed down from the mountains and ferry service was affected). I’m missing Italy already. Though I live in San Diego, so I cannot complain too much.
