Beautiful area! My husband and I loved Tuscany when we were there years ago! Our tour guide was from Lucca! She was wonderful 😊! I hope to return one day! I love your umbrella!
One of the most breathtaking regions of Italy. Well.....let's be honest Italy itself is drenched with endless beauty and history. I will say it's time for you to grab a half dozen plug-n-play wired and wireless mics for your phone. I'm constantly adjusting my volume and rewinding. Just be sure those mics have wind filters on the (fur like covers for the mic). I say a half dozen to ensure there is A) one stashed in the car, purse, bag or whatever. And B) there is always one or two full charged when you need it. They're very inexpensive. Cheers!
A lunch in Italy, hiking in the moutains, fresh raspberries, the views, market day in Fivizzano ... you picked a good area for a little home in Italy, congrats!
Lord, I can only imagine what that area looks like during the winter/holidays. Twinkly holiday lights, bright white snow, mountains....heaven I hope you get a chance to visit there during the holidays and share with us🥰
I just adore you Julie. If we are not friends in this lifetime we will be for sure in the next! I heard poor Luke huffing and puffing up the mountain at the ski resort. It is not at all a criticism, just endearing his devotion to you. I plan to buy an apartment in Italy. I am eyeing Todi but I need to come for a visit to see which area speaks to me the most. I can't wait to see your renovations for the apartment!
I took Italian in college and I just devoured this entire playlist. It was so fun listening to you practice your Italian! It's such a beautiful language and I was surprised by how much I remembered. I still haven't been but it's nice knowing I may not be completely lost there -- I just need a refresher! hahaha
my daughter’s husband owns a family home on Sestola that is beautiful. His family still lives mainly in Bologna and there are some wonderful resorts on the It Riviera in the area. So much beauty within an hour of Bologna to the West and East to Venice.
And there are ski slopes nearby! The cherry on top of your dream house! Lucky you. I realized when you were taking about your lunch that learning the pronunciation of food and cuisine of an area is a good way to ease in to learning a new language. I might could do that!
Now that’s a perfect day! To have such easy access to both surf and ski would be ideal. Heaven! I can’t wait to see the upcoming vids on the renovations.
Is your new program going to be aired on America's Smithsonian Channel,@@AmericanViscountess? I've been looking at the TV Guide and checking their website, and yours. Lots of ❤from TX.
Cerreto is very beautiful, you should go now, is full of snow😍 A lot of guys from my city always go there, especially between the 30 December and the 2nd of January.
Kind regards, just discovered your channel and I really love it! I’m Italian living abroad and I spend my summer in Sarzana ( La Spezia, Liguria) and in Fosdinovo ( Massa Carrara, Toscana) both are only forty minutes drive from Fivizzano, you have to visit this beautiful historical places, first check them out on internet. In August Sarzana’s historical center will be led by antiques market. Hope to see you there
I love your adventurous spirit. We live in Washington state and your hike reminds me of hiking mt rainier or Crystal mountain. Or the incline hike in Colorado Springs ! I think I would love Italy ❤️. Thanks for sharing your life with us💜
By the way idk if you’ve ever been here to Carrara, but the marble quarries are really beautiful and in the last days you can see beautiful sunsets over the sea from up there. I really recommend it! Also Campocecina now it is covered with snow but you can see the sea and it is a beautiful contrast!
What incredible view from the top of the ski lift. The walk up the mountain, you could hear Luke breathing pretty hard, it must of been a hike up! Also, what fun to find the wild raspberries! The plate of gnocchi looked delicious.
Such a lovely video and I’m excited too as we are presently buying our own little both hole in northern Tuscany and I’m thrilled to know we can ski so close by. Hope you don’t mind me saying but after living in rural France for 10 years, some farmers once taught me that you never pick wild fruit close to the ground (berries etc) as animals may have passed by earlier and left their mark there so to speak. You might want to stick to the higher branches! Also never eat mushrooms from friends where sheep graze as their droppings can highly contaminate the mushrooms! Just a little friendly advice! Buon vento lovely lady!
I am in the UK and always went berry picking with my family and still do. the other thing is to never pick them near a road. Car exhausts spill over the fruit.
Lovely video ~ I've only been to Italy once (many years ago) and you've reminded me of the incredible fresh air you get at altitude...I could almost breath it whilst watching your climb. Looking forward to following the further work on your pretty Italian house!
The views were stunning on your walk (although I did hear some huffing & puffing from the camera man) I've been anxiously awaiting more content on your Italian house reno - so happy we'll see more soon. Really enjoying your channel 😃 BTW - I was just visiting a friend in Elmhurst, and got my shopping fix on the Gold Coast!
Wow Julie, you picked such a wonderful area for your house! Just gorgeous.Your American accent has some touches of British e.g.You pronounce t in "delightful" and "little" with a very hard t instead of the softer ddd American style. Now you will be picking up Italian too.I doubt you are conscious of it.
Ciao Julie! I didn’t know you could ski above Fivizzano?? What town is it?? I usually go to Abetone above Lucca, though l don’t ski anymore and now prefer to go in the summer for lovely walks through the woods, nice and cool when it is too hot down here on the coast in Torre del Lago! Lucca is definitely one of my favourite cities 😍 l love taking walks all around the famous walls, it’s perfect and family and friends from the States really enjoy the beauty of it!! You should make a video as you walk along the top of the walls looking down into the medieval city😉it’s really worth it👍Thanks for always being so inspiring and positive!!🙏
Tuscany has everything you could wish for doesn't it ? In 3 years we are moving over for good !!
Absolutely wonderful! So happy that your whole family is enjoying your dream house with you. Well done Julie! (Luke the researcher did ok too)
Beautiful area! My husband and I loved Tuscany when we were there years ago! Our tour guide was from Lucca! She was wonderful 😊! I hope to return one day! I love your umbrella!
Your joy shows! Thanks Julie for sharing.
Love love your town and ski resort and waterfall all near by the town of Fivizzano!! Love the rainbow umbrella.

Someone once told me that Lucca is the most beautiful city (or town) in Italy. Maybe that's true. It certainly is all very lovely.
A lunch in Italy, hiking in the moutains, fresh raspberries, the views, market day in Fivizzano ... you picked a good area for a little home in Italy, congrats!
That's just amazing! Sea and skiing in one location. And the food. Wait, you shouldn't be telling people about this, we'll all come! :)
I love the way you explain in details everything. I learned a lot.

Soooo beautiful. I notice that some of your diction is now coming close to a British accent. cute

Love your hat, where did you get it? Beautiful, Luke you are a gem for finding such a lovely place and sharing it with us. Love you both!
Thank you! Hat is about 5 years old so can't remember where it's from I'm afraid. But so pleased you enjoyed the episode!

Beautiful area! FYI it’s “lying” on the beach, not laying.
You are in the Italian alps , yes ? Such a pretty area that has everything.
Not Alps but Appennini.

Lucca has an antique market also.
What a fabulous place to live!!! Absolutely perfect! Thank you for sharing this with us !! Love from Vermont
Glad you enjoyed it!
💚
do you keep a garden at your Tuscan house?
Do you have a second home from Mapperton because of your work?
What is the name of the resort?
Why is it "my" Italian house and not "our" Italian house? Is Luke not a part owner?
Funny, she keeps saying..."My house not Our house". I just find it odd.
were you in Abetone?
